I like that the film pulls back just enough from it's mean spiritedness to be. palatable. I mean who can't empathize with the reality. of 1990s era low/ entry level skilled office employment
"Shales and Ebert" could've been a great show. Shales had the wit and the brains to be a great co-host. P.s. Loved it when he did that little dance when giving thumbs down to "Tango" 😂
Tom is right about October Sky its cliche, but it does it so well you wish it was better at manipulating you, because you appreciate the message of the film is supposed to be inspiring
@@clutchkman I loved "Get a Life". Hilarious choice for a TV critic. He was actually there the week after this, it was taped the day before Gene died. RIP.
Let me just say that I saw HEATHERS and that's what JAWBREAKER was trying to go for. It just wasn't done that well. Not a good movie. But Rose McGowan does a great job as the Queen Bee/Alpha Bitch.
Office Space has aged like a fine wine.

Agree. I saw it the first time over 20 years ago. I saw it only the second time just the other night. It's amusing and unique.
Office Space is an unmitigated masterpiece. It’s almost a documentary.
These movies came out on February 19th of 1999. Gene passed away the following day 😢
R.i.p. Gene
Thanks for letting us know that. I was wondering.
Office Space spoke for millions of Americans.
I wish I could have seen Siskel’s reaction to office space.
Tom Shales is literally the only other film critic that could fill Roger's chair
Its weird its like bizarro world ebert
Separated at birth
Seems like a really nice guy, another Chicago fella.
Harry Knowles filled it too
Office space one word iconic

Ebert and Shales, though
Tom was a great co-host guest.
Tom Shales was on the Ebert website for like a minute.
Hey, Ebert finally got to be the skinny one!
He’s Like Super Ebert

I like October Sky & Office Space
Gene Siskel died the day after this movie was released. This episode probably aired a week before he died.
The moment tom shales picked the chris elliot tv show was the moment he was never invited back
Out of all things on home video. Lol, but I did enjoy his reviews.

Was this the episode that aired the week that Siskel died? I recall a mediocre “shock jock” joking that Jawbreaker killed him.
More Like Ebert & Ebert 2.0
Tom is a cool guest! If he writes for The Washington Post he's gotta be pretty smart! USE to love that paper.

Siskel, poor Siskel. Undergoing surgery and treatment and dying the whole time.
and Ebert didn`t even realize how bad he was...Ebert was on the way to the hospital when he died....sad
