I'm visiting Dallas at the end of July and Dunston's is on the list for dinner one night. I'm sad to say I grew up in Dallas and never ate there! July 2022 we remedy that error!
I grew up and still live in the neighborhood where DUNSTINS Steakhouse is. I remember the original Building that they started in and slowly they bought the businesses and house's around them and expanded to where they are today. I'm embarrassed to say that I have never dined in the Restaurant part . He opened another building next to the Restaurant and just sold burgers there. That's where I would go as a teen and get a burger to go. But LUNAS tortilla moved in and carelessly burned the building down so it was never replaced and just expanded into more parking space for the main restaurant. I noticed during the filming of TCR their they mentioned Chicken Fried Steak . So I googled the Restaurant and checked out the menu. I said to myself Oooo Weee Yummy I see sum meals that I like so I'm finally going to Dine in the Restaurant part. So Thanks Texas Country Reporter. 🙋♂️👋👍👍5+⭐'s
Some years back when I worked for a company called King Lawn Sprinkler there in Dallas my boss used to take a couple of us there for lunch every now and then it sure was some good good food I enjoyed it.
Don't blame Gene for Dallas going the wrong direction. I was born there and grew up in Big D. It still has many wonderful people. The "woke crowd" will never be found in Dunston's. They are too stupid and think they shouldn't have to pay for anything.

One of the best dinners you'll ever have, at a price that won't leave you crying. Highly recommended by a former dallasite.
Thanks for sharing. Dunston's Steakhouse a true Texas Legend!

Seems like such a great man with a great story, awesome.
Gene is a character along Harry Hines and a nice guy at that. He has a way to make you feel welcome.
Will try it next time in Dallas!
I grew up in Dallas. Now I'm in Houston. I miss Dunston's, El Fenix, Goff's and Campisi's.
Thank you.👍👍

This is what Texas is all about... and what the USA used to be all about... though that spirit still thrives in very small amounts.
Me, too! 🤠
God bless America.
Reminds me of Hitching Post II.
LOVE the burgers "mesquite" baby...
Dallas is not a favorite destination, but this preview of Dunston's Steakhouse may be an roadtrip exception and require a personal evaluation 🤔.
Those steaks looked awfully thin. Not impressed.
I don't like anything about Dallas. Lived in Arlington 8 years and tried to avoid Dallas at all cost. Better be an OUTSTANDING steakhouse
Live in Arlington. Prefer Fort Worth to Dallas too. Never even heard of this place. Might give it a try.
To bad it's in Dallas I won't spend my money in a woke city, I know other places to go to and don't have all the traffic to deal with!

Idiotic statement... Most if not all major cities are Blue.
