Mary didn't sit at the feet of Jesus to take from Him, she sat there because Jesus was the only thing she needed.
David appreciated the benefits from God, because he (in the Old Covenant) had only that. But we (in the New Covenant) have the only benefit we will ever need, Jesus Christ, living right inside us today.
So she needed something then: His presence. But the Lord has no need of us, though He desires us with His whole heart... He is complete within Himself, yet we take and receive from Him daily. In that He is blessed since we treat Him as God whom He is.
