Epic Hike Across a Frozen Marsh to Rank Island on the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge.

A great winter road trip from New Berlin, WI to the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. Gus the German Shepherd led us on an epic a 3.5 mile hike over a rolling prairie onto a frozen marsh to reach Rank Island. A late day start made the hike a little sketchy with a quick passing snow squall and darkness descending upon us, but we finished just in time.
