- Learn how to make a wooden piggy bank which is a great gift idea. It's also the perfect project to practice your woodworking skills and I made this box using dovetails but you can make box joints, butt joints or miter joints. That's a great gift idea. I think you nailed it when you said that 10 years from now it will be the gift she still has. Merry Christmas!
That first line, "On Christmas morning, this may not be the thing she's most impressed with, but in 10 years, it'll be the one she still has". That's perfect. Just summed up woodworking for me. Just perfect

Needed a different change jar for my house. always used a Balvenie whisky bottle tube, this will look a bit more appropriate. Thanks and great timing on the video. Happy New Year!

Hi John, First can I say thanks for all your great content over the last year, loads of inspiration. I wish you and your family all the best for the coming year. I must also point out if you're filling this money box with Canadian dollars, for it to have any value it would need to be much bigger.... :)
Merry Christmas! Love the bank and thanks for the link!
Merry Christmas Jon. Thanks for all you do! Here's hoping that 2017 is a great year for you and your channel too.

Thanks Fred, Merry Christmas
Take a look at Shannon Rogers (Renaissance Wood worker) Joinery Bench. Small footprint that is set up higher for dovetailing and fine detail work.
I love it very cool
What would be the other tool to use for people who don't have biscuit jointer to make that slot.
Great Piggy bank.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas
Great video and project, Jon. Love the pig design :>).
Thanks Steve
Really nice project! What kind of laquer did you use? Water or oil based?
Awesome work! Why choose to paint over the cherry on the face of the piece? I have always preferred the look of wood grain over paint (just a personal preference). I am still new to wood work so if there is anything behind the decision I would love to know!
It simply comes down to preference. Paint can help protect against wear, but clear lacquer will do the same thing.
Where can I buy that dove tail jig?
Nice video I just check out ur channel

Fill it with $$$'s and she'll love it.
That would have been very bad if this was your last video.
I’m not sure what the point of this comment is
