What really makes this one of my favorite Arnold films, is the humanity of his character, he’s just like us. He’s not some superhuman Military badass or an unstoppable machine. He’s a dark, depressed, and broken man. With all the weaknesses, yet at the same time, the power to choose the good in his heart.
I really like how the devil does nothing but say “you’re a good person, don’t feel guilty, nothing is ever your fault” If you wanted to corrupt a person down to their very soul, that’s the morality you’d want to impart on them.
Changing my heart and mind to find truth in who I am set me free from the needle. Who the ruling class said we are is a lie. Truth in self is the truth that sets the heart and mind free. Hard to love self or anyone else, when we have been made to identify self as the enemy.

I love how Arnold tries to shoot and kill the men who killed his wife and daughter but it's a flashback illusion including trying to attack them but it didn't work.
i really don’t see how everyone hates this movie. the soundtrack is cool, Gabriel Byrne is a badass in this and Arnold is always a joy to watch. for me it’s one of Arnold’s best films outside of Predator, Commando, Running Man, Total Recall and the Terminator franchise!
