    This is how we do it. Just diced tomatoes, lemon juice, salt, and italian seasoning. This way it can me used for multiple different recipes.

    Wow nice I like the no music approach. You didn’t show the extra ring tightening on the tattler lids after you pulled them out of the canner. Good job I’m sure you will enjoy all those tomatoes this winter

    Just want to make sure I'm seeing this right...no water added? Is it just diced tomatoes and salt? I love this idea!

    Great video! How long is the shelf life once they’re canned? And also is it safe to can them if you just use a washing machine or is boiling mandatory? I always thought about canning as a hobby you made it look more fun

      Washing maching to can food, or is that a typo?😮

    • @kytown4248
      @kytown4248 Рік тому +3

      @@heatherk8931It isn't a typo lolol. You don't use an actual washing machine. It just means using a regular pot of boiling water, and yes you can do it that way as long as you have the water about an inch above your lids. It just takes longer. Us old timers call it the washing machine method. An even easier way is to freeze them in ziploc freezer bags.

      I felt like it was Very informative. It showed you how to wash your tomatoes, chop the tomatoes, wash and sterilize your jars & lids. After sterilizing your jars you put about a tablespoon of lemon juice in each jar, added your tomatoes pushed them down a bit and if needed add more to the jar, leaving proper headspace. Add a teaspoon of kosher salt (non-iodized), released as much air as possible from the jars, wiped off the rims, added the lids and rings. Then placed in the water bath canner. Bring to a boil. Boil for about 25 minutes. Remove from canner, place on a towel, let cool to room temperature, usually overnight. Remove the rings, clean the jars, label and date. Enjoy all winter!
      You can use Tattler lids over and over. You can also use Ball or other canning lids.
      That's what I got from the video! VERY informative! GOD bless
