They sound good still, particularly Denise and considering that this performance is 30 years after they were in their prime. Her voice is still strong and has that melodic and sweet tone; and she was still hitting those high notes.
I'm a performing band singer and I tell ya, I started singing around the same time they did and i even don't sound the same but I still sang good as fuck. As you get older your voice starts to drop a few octaves so you have to adapt to you new vocal range, so Considering that, I feel they did pretty dam good. The dance moves were slow motioned to where they didn't kick ball chain and pop lock it hard like they used too but hey who the hell cares just to see them on stage it's still amazing. It was still a good performance. I used to jump around on stage and spin around and give the crazy eyes and all that but as I've age gracefully my pop lock stamina had slowed down over the years too. There will come a time when Beyonce and usher will have no choice but to slow it down too and I just hope that we are all still alive to see it. The singing towards the end was a little off-key which can easily be worked out and I would have liked to have seen the girls dress a little more flashy sassy, but overall I think they did pretty dam good job // the lead singer still sounds great and her brothers are still so freakin' cute. Hey what happened to the other pretty sister. I pray that she is alive and well. I pray that their father is alive and well too. Their music made my stay in Europe lots of fun back in the 80's when I was a teenager. I will forever be a fan and God bless them all. I think Denise did great on The voice and I was very impressed.
It sounds like the song is a bit high now(as we could also hear backstage at Deniece's Voice audition) so I'm surprised they don't put it down a couple of notes but Deniece sang it perfectly at the Lytham festival a few years back.
Good to see them performing but when you have hits like them.. you have an audience so not being at your best is not a requirement to be loved by your fans... I LEARNED THAT WATCHING BOBBY BROWN and he be sounds a hot mess. But we love their songs and no one has been able to replace their sounds.. so.. Oh Well on the vocals.
I’m sorry but Denise sounds AMAZING, irrespective of the fact you’re comparing to a recorded vocal from 30 years ago, she holds up to this day. Some people just can’t say anything positive! Denise, you are great
it was amazing and in tune watching live - we were at the front in a similar position to where this was recorded- think it could be the recording / phone quality as many of my videos that day sound awful or tinny
They look so much older yet her voice still has same sweet sound to it after more than 30 years - amazing!
