A few tips. There is no reason for the cutting mat if you have the cutting edge up. All it's doing is giving you an uneven surface to try and push on. These methods work pretty good if you put the paper down on the mat then place the cutting side of the die down on the mat. Then roll over them. I do recommend tho. Making a sandwich.. meaning, place a cutting mat, paper, die, cutting mat or other hard surface. Then rolling over the entire sandwich. That way you get a more even pressure. The dies work best of they can press into something... So basically pushing through the paper. Think cookie cutters. This was a great video to start the creative juices flowing tho on ways to try things alternatively. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for showing in real time how hard it is to cut dies without a die cut machine. I had some dies that I had bought at Michael's on clearance but I had no die cut machine. I bought a new rolling pin and it was a major fail! I had looked for a used die cut machine for more than a year and thank God I found one for six dollars at a Goodwill stores. I DIYed a platform using laminate floor tiles and the DT cutting mat you used. I really appreciate your patience on this video.
I’m so glad that it helped! When I was researching it, everyone made it look like it was instant and there was no struggle at all. Which may have been the case for them, but not me. At first, I felt like I was doing something wrong. I was a little bummed. Now being through it I can appreciate that it can be done with a little time and elbow grease! 💪 🪨😂
I appreciate peoples ideas to help solve the experiment but i am so upset with the rude comments. Ask tourselves was that absolutely necessary. You can see from the title that this is an experiment to see if its true. I commend ingrids willingness to try. Thanks ingrid for all tou do and your kind nature. I appreciate you
What about putting paper down on the mat and die on top face down, and rolling over that. The mat behind the paper would give the die something to push down on the die with the rolling pin ? Our dollar tree doesn’t have the dies unfortunately so I can’t test it
Thanks for giving this a try! The rolling pin seems to be the best alternative. I haven't been able to find replacement plates for my Prizm machine from Spellbinders.
Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only person that uses a marble rolling pin for crafting! Mine has chips in it from past problem solving. 🤣👏
I am a new subscriber and i enjoy your videos very much. I don't mean to sound rude but the music is very distracting and often so loud your voice is hard to hear and i dont want to miss what you are saying.
I'm wondering if it would be better to do it on a hard surface with no give than to use the self-healing mat.... maybe not have to work so hard and get out of breath, unless you are trying to workout too. 😂 Just a thought. I have a mini 3x6 die cutting machine from Temu so I was just thinking how you layer it. Cuddos to you for sticking with it! ❤
Except for the nice background music, this video was a bust,Sorry to say😢. Might have been better to perfect the technique before starting to film. Better luck next time! Barb in Cali
I struggled with the idea of posting an edited version, that didn’t give the true time that was spent trying to figure it out. Glad to have you here! 💗💗💗

I agree with Missie. Leave the mat out of the equation & just do it on the hard surface. Thank u for taking the time to do this for us. ❤😊
Try putting the die on a hard surface, then the paper then the mat. Roll on the mat.
I say flip it over
That’s a box blade not an X-Acto knife
Yes you are very right 💕🫶🏼 Unfortunately I still call it that all the time 😞😭

That was a lot of your time wasted. My guess is that I have a lot of patience having watched this...this was the first video of yours that I watched.
Why be rude and post a unneeded response. Scroll on by or try being kind.
