    Greetings from NORWAY Winne, that’s a big seljefløyte. For those wondering this is an impressive upscale and a normal one would be 10-20 cm long and 1,5 cm diameter. Typical to learn to build in late kindergarden/early primeryschool.

    For anyone wondering, to lenghten the age of these flutes, you can keep them in a river or a lake when you dont play them, this makes them last a lot longer!

      what about putting them in a bucket with water and glycerin?

      @@F0nkyNinja give it a shot:o but i think only water and changing the water daily will do the job

    Hi Winne, I started learning the basics of woodwind instruments with a Recorder but I am aiming for the Romanian Caval. After finding your channel I immediately subscribed and decided to buy one. Can you please tell me the wood and scale of the instrument you are using in your video "Romanian Kaval (Caval) Tutorial "lesson 3"? I also like it's clean look, beautiful piece you got there. Thank you, looking forward for more folk songs tutorial for the Romanian Caval. Best regards! Daniel

    Haunting work! Nice. I've got a question - how long does this flute last?

    I just saw this clip - great with that size - How do you keep it playable, Winne ?

    • @1fujara
      @1fujara  7 місяців тому

      It is only playable for about 2 days, then it shrinks and dies :)

    Is there a limit ti the size of branch you can use for this?
    Like for example, could you make a bass flute out of a longer thicker branch?

      sure that would be possible, just not easy to remove the bark in one piece though, the longer the harder :-)

    Can this flute be preserved and be a permanent flute if you coat it in polyurethane or something like that

    • @1fujara
      @1fujara  3 роки тому

      no, the moisture will leave the bark and it will shrink= end of the instrument and also the beauty of these!
