I was there too! It was so long ago, now 39 years, I only have a few distinct memories. I remember arriving early in the morning and seeing a bunch of young fans climb over a very tall fence as a way to get in. I remember it was very hot and there was a fire hose that sprayed water on people, which was refereshing. I remember that the best sounding act, hands down, was Neil Young, and that he crushed it, expecially when he did Powerfinger. I remember we started out sitting down on a blanket around the fifty yard line and pot was beiing passed around which was pretty cool. The most vivid memory was one of the many moments when there was a delay and the fans were getting restless and shouting for music and bands. Jack Nicholson walks on the stage, apparently to try to calm us down, and we boo the hell out of him, and then laugh afterwards. And he goes up to the microphone and says, "You're a real class crowd Philly, let me tell ya."
I love when she says " Good morning children of the 80s and others" It makes me think how incredible it is to go back in time by watching a video thanks to technology.
Jesus showed up late and then refused to even appear on stage then wanted to get payed. When asked about the money the churches are supposed to give him he answered: "Never saw a penny."
@@STEVEHEROLD As a Philly guy what's INCREDIBLE is the Legend Grows every year. If it wasn't for LIVE AID, Queen would be just another HOF Band. Nonetheless wish I was at WEMBLEY, Many at JFK were Tanning...
Thank GOD that the producer finally screamed loud enough into the ear of the clueless commentators to SHUT UP as they were ruining a historical moment in time. And if those commentators are still around, do something slightly nonvapid with your lives by learning who and what Bill Graham was.
none of that money went to hungry children, it went to the very same warlords who created the famine because Geldof was more interested in his ego than the cause. But thanks for the rainbows again Miss Baez; at least we feel better about ourselves.
+Mike Williams : Mike as a nation and people we are help one another. Would you rather God tie strings on every one and treat them like puppets? It's all free will and faith. There would not be starvation any where in the world if we all as a human race followed one of the most basic rule God gave. Love one another as you would love your self.

Blame it all on geldof.
Michael Wilson Can Geldolf help it if He's an idiot ? and Pathetic ?
Ignorant rubbish! Do some research if you're capable of it.
Mike Williams all that anger will give ulcers and heart problems
R Duncan in your opinion and seeing as you're a nobody then I doubt your literate and intelligent opinions will get noticed
Hilarious to start with a religious song. If there was a god and he was doing his job there wouldn't have been a need for Live Aid.
+Mike Williams nailed it
