    Any Idea how to fix CAD data. So like .stl files. They come with holes but the types of holes are more like gaps. How would I close them off? I'm not sure if that's the problem but a simple dynamesh doesn't work. Or I t take FOREVER to complete. Thanks

      Hi Josh, if you pop a link to screenshot of the wireframe in ZBrush, I or someone else might be able to offer suggestions.

      @@SnapLaunch Thanks for the reply. imgur.com/a/F8OA1TN
      You can see the wireframe there, showing the problem with CAD data. The verts are not all attached. Then an image with wireframe off, leaving you to see the extent of all the holes and gaps.

      @@joshgilbert9571 Thanks for that. Have you tried taking it into Blender (eg 2.92) and merging vertices by distance by, pressing Tab to go into edit mode, pressing ctrl + 1 to select vertices, selecting the desired vertices (‘a’ to select all), then pressing ‘m’ and choosing “By Distance” to set the merge distance threshold? If this is successfully done, Dynamesh should may be more useful afterwards. -Ben

    I subscribed after checking out just a few of your videos - you do an awesome job and your efforts are much appreciated. I chuckled to myself when I saw this technique, as I kind of developed this exact same solution. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of those annoying "pinch points/tight peaks" that never seem to go away when you do this??? I end up hiding-then-deleting-hidden a small area around them - then re-dynameshing ( to fill holes/re-topologize). Those little bastards are hell to get rid of. Thanks again for the video!! Cheers

    • @SnapLaunch
      @SnapLaunch  3 роки тому +1

      Hey, thanks for your thoughtful and constructive comment - I smiled reading it. As for those annoying "pinch points/tight peaks" and using del hidden of a small area, that seems like a surefire way to get rid of them. They're very annoying indeed. These days, I make a concerted effort to avoid going to a higher detail level too soon or sculpting with an overly aggressive brush and this has largely been a saving grace for me :P. Thanks for your subscription and I'll be sure to try out your removal method next time I encounter the issue! Cheers

    Thank you for the trips. But strang is, I don't have TrimRect brush in my Zbrush. How can I get it?

    • @SnapLaunch
      @SnapLaunch  5 років тому

      Hi, TrimRect is the 5th last brush in my install of ZBrush 2018.1. If you can't see the brush, when you are in the brush pallette, try choosing 'reset brushes' if you don't have an extensive list of imported/custom brushes that are loaded in and unsaved. Good luck

      @@SnapLaunch Hi, thank you so much for your precise introduction!!! It's very kind of you. But i stil can't find it. besides many options are missed in my version, like under the Document, there's almost nothing but background color. But the canvas size has been changed and i can't reset it. :\ I'm really confused. :'(

    • @wtsh4796
      @wtsh4796 5 років тому

      I just asked my professor. She told me that we students installed another version, which has not so many functions. So it's understandable why i can't finde it. But thank you for your help! And it's a very useful video for us all!

    • @SnapLaunch
      @SnapLaunch  5 років тому

      To help avoid running into this issue in the first place, you may wish to try using a lower strength/higher detail/smaller brush when sculpting areas with a small amount of distance between opposing faces, eg, eyelids or a coaster for hot drinks.
