Dell has a toxic culture with countless rounds of layoffs. I’m not sure why anyone would want to work there. This policy will just drive the best remote workers to other companies.
They won’t be missed. The laziest people at my last employer got to work from home. Lazy lazy- my neighbor works from home. Said he was done for the day when I came home at 12ish and walked the dog so he said he was doing chores and laundry. All on the clock without any remorse. Crazy. Another remote person goes to the beach on the clock Target etc. Lots of lazy and entitled work from home people.
Tax breaks loss is why Dell wants workers back in office. Dell was told they would lose their tax breaks from local and state govt if their employees were not working in the jurisdiction they received the tax breaks for.
Personal experience: Working Remote is fantastic,...if you can do your job Remotely. The advantages:....no travel time lost going to, and from, work. I got sick less (When co-workers were sick they would still come to work and how many times have I been next to someone on the bus who was sick?), Working overtime was easy,....I didn't have to worry about getting home late. When it snows, or rains, I'd leave extra early to get to work on time,....not when working remotely. When I want to ear (lunch or a snack) I have all my favorite foods at my fingertips. I bought 4 computer screens and two phones to be more effective. It was great. So now you're wondering; "what happened" to me? I spent the last 6 years of my carrier working Remote. I'm retired.
I think managers who only oversee people and don’t do jack shit are going to be bounced out on their asses in the next 5 years. They’re the ones who want employees back!
If everyone is working at home. How do things get done? Do you think the others who can't, won't just quit working or have their productivity fall? Like me, I quit working 3 years ago? 😂 I'm 31 enjoying my at home life. I'll live off your taxes, as I'm also entitled to my at home life.
@@franklin9400 high character dedicated mature workers do their job better without a babysitter. Saves gas, traffic stress, preparation time, travel time to and from.
@Jimb151 Yeah, I quit working. I'm living off your tax dollars. Because I'm also entitled to my at home life. Enjoy your life. I'm certainly enjoying mine. I was just pointing out the obvious. Saves me on food costs, gas costs, housing costs. Instead of using my income, I use your tax dollars. 🤣 I've also got a lot of extra free time and I get to enjoy it 24/7.
Possibly, but I don't assume so. The real problem, is that these experts are asking the wrong questions. It doesn't matter if their productivity stays the same or even increases. What about the workers upset they can't work from home? Does it negatively affect their productivity to see the highest paid workers not even wanting to come into the office? 😂 Yes, it does. I gave up working completely. I'm also entitled. So now I just live at home and don't work. I'm assuming I'm not the only one. So ...
Btw I'm 31, with no plan to rejoin the labor force. Because I'm entitled. Enjoy working so you can take care of me with your taxes, as I enjoy my at home life also. 😂
Or that the productivity of the people who couldn't work from home is dropping. As they see their counter parts lifestyles and would also like to stay home. Everyone seems to be ignoring this part.
Some companies are getting themselves into a tricky situation because they don't want people to be remote. They want people in the office. However, they have hired remote only positions, and even consolidated office space so that there isn't even enough space for everyone anyways. However, it is because they are making decisions that are against what they really want. It's like a bad relationship.
I think we've all learned this means they have financial troubles and are trying to lay off staff. If I owned DELL, I take this as a fundamental "sell" signal. This "stealth layoff" will only leave the poor performers.
Dell may have many new openings soon because employees do not desire to be micro-managed. Fire employees that are not up to par because days of long computes, being stuffed into offices with sick coworkers, especially when you have a very solid work history. Dell, SHAME ON YOU!
It's time to start your own business so you won't have to work for these corporate assholes.

Dell employees should unionize and demand remote work or go on strike

I just shot my application cover to dell, looks like they could use some dependable help.
A technological company which doesn't support technological advances such as online working, hmm isn't that strange? It denotes a lack of coherence.
Dell living in 1990s, bad place

Hahah so someone with anxiety wants a promotion so they can get more responsibility and thus more anxiety?
Men have kids as well, not only women. Stop playing a victim game. Everyone is equal.
Dell has 150K employees. How many Dell employees are not okay with hybrid or work from office? Get the data first.
Time for tissues to be out of stock everywhere. A lot of crying about to happen.
Another possibility is that people are abusing the system. There is always someone doing that.

Especially at a ruthless nasty company who treats people as objects
they absolutely are abusing it. Hybrid work should have been the standard
Productivity and profits are at an all time high...still playing that tune 😂😢
Maybe study shows his employees are not doing a days work at home, they got complacent I bet.
That and many are working more than one fulltime job.

Productivity is definitely higher among the work from home employees
Love it, great interview!

Well, that’s naturally obvious you can’t get promoted if you don’t show your face
😊 I think people working from home. The employers should be able to have cameras on them to make sure they’re working.
You mean an employer actually wants their employees to work for the money they get? What an insane concept.
This is all about controlling workers and CEOs greed for more money and power.
Dell is a hire-and-fire company who uses people and throws them away
I have an anxiety disorder. Give me your money and let me stay home.
