The best Oregon crabbing I ever was involved in was crabbing the ocean, just outside of an Oregon port. We would set eight pots as we went out to fish and pull them as we returned to port. Over a three day period, we went from 48 legal crabs on the first day to 96 legal crabs on the last day. That larger number is an average of a dozen legal crabs per pot. Each day we had to throw back half of our catch due to limiting. On the last day when we had 96 legals in our pots, we only kept the very biggest. As we pulled our boat out at the dock, State Police was checking boats. They opened an ice chest and started measuring crabs, after a few, they said, there was no reason to measure the rest of our crabs since they were way over legal sized. I then opened up the other ice chest and said "Those were the small ones". They were stunned and said that was the best catch they had seen.

We are limited to 10 here in CA. What is a limit in Oregon? Looks easy hauling pots as shallow as you fish. Nice work, wish you continued good luck 🍀

Thanks for watching. In Oregon the limit is 12 a person. Tight lines

Before I watch this I sure hope y'all did a catch clean and cook and eating them that's the reason why you catch them is to enjoy some tasty recipes and to show us viewers how good they really taste and how you cooking them up

Is there any difference in taste between the red rock and the dungeoness?

In my opinion dungeness are better but I mean crab meat is crab meat. You really only eat the claws of red rocks because their legs barely have any meat in them.
