First off thank you very much! Before the gov stepped in i was able to get mine from the Redfoot Ranch. But now you have to find a breeder within your state
This was very interesting. I have for a while now, in getting an Egyptian tortoise especially now that I’ve seen yours. Do you have a source that would have baby Egyptian tortoises ? I’m here in Pennsylvania. I appreciate any information that you may be able to provide for me Thank you PETER. .
@peterscaritojr7835 unfortunately you would have to find a breeder in Pennsylvania, according to laws. However, if someone were to donate one to you, they can do that, but good luck finding someone whiling to do that. I am really happy you are inspired by the Egyptian tortoise an alternative would be a Greek tortoise. They stay relatively small but are easier to obtain. They are pretty hardy little torts too. Good luck with the search!
okay so I did some fact checking here and YES your are correct they used to range from Libya to Israel and NOT Nigeria. Thank you for bringing this up it helps the reptile community get the best information possible. My goal is to provide the best resource I can for tortoise and turtle keepers both young and old and people like you are make that possible!! thank you so much for watching my videos.
@@Thirdcoastreptile you are very welocme, I myself worked with preservation of Testudo Kleinmanni in Libya few years ago where it still can be found in the wild
Your information is wrong, man The Egyptian tortoise lives from Palestine to Libya It is now extinct in Egypt in general only in the wild, but it is sold everywhere in Egypt
Such a beautiful species of tortoise. I’m currently looking for one myself. Where did you get yours from? Thank you 😊

@@Thirdcoastreptile Makes since, I’m in Fl but having a hard time finding a breeder.
You are such a great educator...I'm surprised you haven't been invited to late night television like Johnny Carson used to do. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the kind words!!!
Great stuff, always love tortoise videos in UA-cam!

Can you provide more info on the Rubbermaid tube? Where do you get it, what is the model number/name, size, etc? Do you have a link you can provide?
I believe its a Rubbermaid 50gal tub from tractor supply, any farming store should have one.
Great video . Thanks
The range is from Israel down to Libya on the coast, not Nigeria!
Thanks for the video
