When we see these deer every day, in time we see how different they look from one another. What look like slight differences at first become distinctive to us over time. Like humans, they have different coloring, head and body shapes, particular ways of moving. Above all, they each have different personalities expressed in the ways they behave. Eva acts with the responsibility of being the herd leader. Rosie, the oldest deer, is much more laid back, but still respected by the other deer.
your videos show me that there is still peace and love in the wold. when i am looking your videos, i am allways starting to get wet eyes, because such moments like this you cought on camera makes the life to a good life. Thanks for charing those moments.
I was baffled when i saw your other videos but the start of this one truly .. i have no words.. I have always had a strange connection with animals, im only 19 years old now but i have saved a lot of animals, mostly birds and somehow injured animals and certain wild-ish animals are calm around me and allow me to pick them up. Just a week ago i found a young bird and he just sat there looking at me allowing me to pick him up. but nothing like the extreme band u share with these animals..
I often get deer in my yard here in Ohio also and have tried to get pictures and video but usually comes out poorly. You did a real nice job here with this on and it's nice that you can enjoy the deer as you do. Thanks for sharing!
The deer are attracted to your incredible nurturing energy. Animals can see "light people." Gorgeous video. I enjoyed it greatly. Blessings & Light, Renee
This is the most beautiful video I've seen ever.Thank you so much for shareing these magnificant gentle creatures with us. I had to share your video with everyone I know.
my grandfather is like this. If one has a calm nature, it easier to connect with animals of any kind. Wild ones are much more wary and one must remember to never make a sudden move especially if they aren't used to you. From what I can tell, you'll be like this one day :) This guy probably feeds these deer and over time he has tamed them up to to his presence, allowing him to pet them and so on. Deer are very innocent and curious creatures, so their easier to get to come to you.
I love this! Knowing how I am about all animals I would want to be bringing blankets for them! Is it hard for them to find food in the winter? I know I'd be wanting to feed them, which is probably no a good idea.
How do we tell the ages of the deer? We were around when all the current deer in the herd were each born. We don't get to know them all so well, but the smart ones who for example figure out how nice a massage is - these deer we know quite well. Aside from physical differences, they use a lot of body language and other behaviors that help to identify who is who. Our local deer generally live to be 7 to 10 years old. Smarter deer generally live longer. In captivity deer can live for 20 years.
These deer don't seem to mind at all and i have always to close to something like this but it's highly unlikely but i always adorn amimals, but you guys seem very generous to have them latch on you like that, not everybody can't get close to this experiece you are lucky.
cont'd ...Unfortunately, I had to release her from my backyard, into an area where there *is* hunting. It would have been too dangerous for her to sedate and transport her to a refuge site. When I watch your videos I am overcome with nostalgia and longing for my beautiful Viva.
where are you .. are those black tail deer i too have some deer on property ..i cannot pet them but i feed them .....would love to see more and share photo's ....you are truly blessed
+Florian Wolf - That part of the video was taken through the window from inside the living room. The two red lights are reflections in the window of two red lights in the living room.
A few winters ago I rehabbed a grown doe I had hit on the road. I had to hide her in my garage or else the game commission would have come and shot her and arrested me!
are you all vegetarians who live here?........ thats a genuine question - im not suggesting you eat the deer!!!........... im just curious to hear if these animals interact with you differently if they cant smell dead meat / get bad vibes, do you hunt / fish?
+selimate - Good question. Yes, we are vegetarians and it could be that they smell that. They smell everything. It's their main sense aside from hearing, but I think they react positively more to our behavior than our smell. Sorry to say, but every baby deer smells us for the first time and they recoil in shock. Humans, whether vegetarian or not, simply smell "bad" to deer. The adult deer are more discerning, and will choose to befriend us or not depending on their personal preferences. Every deer has a unique personality, place in the herd, and sensitivity to danger. Some are certainly smarter than others, but they all have individual tastes - in what they like to eat in the yard, and who they like to hang out with. Some deer in the herd don't get along with other deer in the herd. There are deer we have known for years who will not get close to us, and a few others who appear to really like us. We've had meat-eaters and hunters visit us, and the deer pretty much are cautious of all strangers. One slight "wrong" move from a stranger and the whole herd will sprint off into the woods. We know one hunter who hunts for food, not trophies, and he loves deer. When he's in our yard the deer sense that he is a calm non-threatening presence (he has no INTENTION of hurting them in our yard), and so they don't mind that he is there. I think they will overcome their distaste for our smell if they value something else in us. Deer really appreciate calm behavior. We've had vegetarians visit us who are not calm. They might treat the deer like they would treat a dog they are meeting for the first time. All the clues you give a dog to show friendship (crouching down to their level as you approach, taking in a high voice or just too much, thinking that they will come to you as non-threatened dogs will do), these are things that frighten deer. There's a lot going on in a deer's head.
Pelorian Pages very interesting! its great to see deer getting this close to people, its precious, I live in england and we have a much higher (human) population density than america (approx 15 X), so the deer are much more skittish here - you bearly even know they are around! thanks for the reply!

I always watch these videos when I want to feel at peace. Maybe its the deer, maybe its the music. Probably both.
Maybe..., the kindness of some humans.
I feel the same way.

Beautiful! I love watching wild life, especially deer! You are so lucky to have those animals as your "neighbors"!
Deer are my favorite animals, they are so beautiful and majestic.
Boy it even looks cold, I bet it's hard for them to find food at that time, consider them lucky to have great friends like you.

Do you feed them in the winter? Amazing creatures. Most people don't realize the complexities of their social life within the herd.
Nice peaceful video. The footage and the music. Thx. They look very sweet and curious.

I love your videos they're so tranquil. Though, I was wondering how can you tell the difference between Eva from Rosie?
05:18 min she's prettier than humans ..
why are there two red dots on the deer(1:48)?
+Florian Wolf - That part of the video was taken through the window from inside the living room. The two red lights are reflections in the window of two red lights in the living room.
+Pelorian Pages Ahh thanks for the quick answer :)
Seems this channel should be getting more views; rather odd...
I agree. Posting our videos on other social networks would help! Copy a few onto your Facebook timeline. We don't mind!
Guy would sure have to go quite a ways before he could hunt deer and be sure he wasn't petting them the day before.
Lol this is awsome
The snow has covered their clover….they’d like some alfalfa or corn for dinner please. :)
Deer love sweet flavors; if you shared a banana or two with them on occasion, especially on cold winter days, you both would enjoy it.
deer is good to eat.....looks good to me
What kind of deer is this White tail or mule
Mule deer.
Rofl@ near the end where he tries to eat the camera ^^
Why are these videos so old
Just feed them. Please.
remember to order them a pizza
the deer are eating your lard
