Ivl have sailed the Sky twice prior to refurbishment and enjoyed it then. Updating could only make it better. It is an older ship but well maintained and is a solid choice for an inexpensive short cruise or a first cruise to test the waters so to speak.
First Cruise was on the Norwegian Sky in March 2014. It was our Honeymoon. I'll always get a balcony after doing it the first time, it's well worth it. The steak house was awesome, it was worth the extra price for a special event.
Wow! I used to work on this ship (2006-2007) when it was The Pride of Aloha. I'm thinking about doing a cruise on The Sky for my bday. So cool! Thanks.
We are going on this ship to the Panama Canal in January. This ship is nearly identical to the Norwegian Spirit we sailed to Alaska. Seems a bit more "kids" oriented. We enjoy this size of ship because it's not so overwhelming and you can easily walk from stem to stern in w brisk walk. Thank you for making this video!
Great tour, thanks! I've sailed on the Sky twice in the last 2 years but each time I got off they were doing some kind of upgrades/drydock. The last time was the last sailing before this refurb. I'm going again next month so great to learn about the new venues and times of service. Much better use of the ship than before and a much needed refresh. Thanks again! Can't wait to see her in person!
@@CruiseRadio It's the 5 day Key West, Freeport, Nassau, Great Stirrup Cay itinerary. Just looking for some warm sunshine and maybe a little Key Lime Pie
Great video we are scheduled to sail her next year and are taking our Granddaughter with us this will be her first cruise. She is so excited after seeing this video
@@CruiseRadio MIami, Grand Turk Turks and Caicos Islands, Puerto Plato Dominican Republic, St Thomas US Virgin Islands, Phillipsburg St Maarten, San Juan Puerto Rico, Great Stirrup Cay Bahamas and back to Miami
This will be my first time on board any cruise ship kinda looking forward to it i'll be doing this cruise solo so i'm glad that you pointed out some great places to dine and to view
I just got off of a cruise on the Sky a couple weeks ago. It was my first experience with NCL and I really enjoyed it, but then I prefer smaller ships. My biggest complaint is the beds weren't as comfortable as I am used to on Holland America. Also I wish they had a way to fasten the two beds together or at least a piece to cover the gap in the mattresses so they didn't develop the canyon in the middle.
@@CruiseRadio My favorite was Le Bistro I think service was the best on the ship and the food was excellent. Cagney's was good, but about on par with Pinnacle Grill on HAL or other steak houses. I was actually kind of disappointed in La Cucina. We had the dining package so it wasn't as bad as if we were eating a la cart, but I felt that it was similar quality or slightly lower quality to Canaletto on HAL with so so service at twice the cost. The I know NCL isn't a place for dressing up for dinner, but the large families with everyone in Christmas pajamas including the adults kind of put a damper on the mood. The lunch pizza was outstanding though. I think next time it will be twice in Le Bistro and once in Cagney's or maybe even three Le Bistro visits.
Haven't sailed on NCL Sky, but did on the Star, twice, Baltic Sea and Panama Canal cruises, both fabulous!. Also sailed on the Epic, a big beautiful ship, but not my favorite...too many people. Will be trying the Sky next, thanx for sharing your video!
A "rust bucket". Too funny. You have the best videos. May be going on the Sky soon and came on UA-cam to find info. Very happy that yours was one. One question, which you may or may not be able to answer....are the steam and sauna rooms in the spa coed or separated?
I’m glad I watched this cause I’m sailing on this ship on 1/10... glad I saw that Cucina has free pizza during lunch. Another complimentary treat 😁 this should be fun. I’m gunna document my trip on here too
Cruise Radio Leaving from Miami, hitting Grand Bahama first, then Nassau, then a day at sea followed by Great Stirrup. I also watched your tour of Great Stirrup so I’m ready. I booked the Waverunner excursion but I’m scared they might not let me go cause I’m over the weight limit by like 10-15 lbs, but I hope they’ll cut me a break.
It’s interesting to see that NCL has a partnership with Starbucks! And since you mentioned it in the video, the vowel sound in “Le” in Le Bistro is pronounced similarly to “good”. 🇫🇷🧑🍳 Oui oui!
Hi, you said for Norwegian sky show theater "...if you get there early enough you can pretty much sit where you want ". Are reservations required for showtimes? and if so, do you book them on the app before sailing date? Or onboard only? I'm sailing in 21 days and don't see these shows on the app.
I've never done this ship but, as with every ship tour you post, I now want to. Looks similar to the Gem, but a little different. The Great Outdoor bar is one of my all-time favorite bars on any ship... great place to sit and watch the wake...
Before Corona , I wanted someone to petition Royal or Norwegian to have regular Atlantic crossings . I am not talking about re positioning cruises , I am talking a regular crossing . The reason is , I can't stand the way too dull Queen Mary 2 .
Good evening I'm from the Philippines can i have update on the condition of my son UREE ATHELSTAN OCUREZA assigned as cook in your ship caused we lost communication of him just yesterday and his wife is very worried can i ask your kind office if you can provide
As a follow up. The best way is to contact the manning agency in the Philippines to send a message to the ship. They will be able to communicate with your son. I hope all goes well and please keep me posted. 🙏
What do you think of Norwegian Sky?
i have done this ship at least 2 times, it has been a while would love to do this again.
@linda jackson Nice, have you sailed after the refurbishment? Thank you for watching.

My 1st cruise was on the Norwegian Sky and I enjoyed it. This ship is the perfect size for short cruises.

I went on a cruise on the Sky to Havana and Great Stirrup Cay in May, 2019. Great ship, perfect size (not too big or too small), and friendly crew.
Nice. Was this your first cruise? Thank you for watching.
2012 was the 1st and only time we cruised on the sky. Im contemplating again now after the refurbishment’s and seeing your video.
Great to have a tour since Sky was renovated!!
They did a really great job renovating the ship. Thank you for watching.

@stephanie sprinkle It was ok I guess.... the excursions weren't exactly the best in the world. Th food was great though!!
You get the rona?
Did it happen? I don’t think we were locked down in early January. Who knows anymore, January was years ago

Key West, Great Stirrup, and Nassau - just a shorty to see if the cruising bug bites.
Rebecca Meyenberg-I'm doing that itinerary but starts 2/17/20
I am only watching this for nostalgia when I went on this ship in the summer of 2019.

are you sure Sports betting can be done on NCL i thought they didnt offer that?
They had betting open during the NFL season. I was looking right at it and was the first time i saw it. Thanks for watching.

Does this ship have a big screen for movies?

do they have anything for teens on this cruise?
Yes but I don’t recommend this ship for teens it’s very boring
You know Doug it’s been two years but this and her sister are the only cruise line that have no connection to Norway I’ll sail on..
