Nigel, thank you so much for your video's. I love them and they help motivate me and keep me enthused. Your positivity and influence of Bonsai is known all over the internet, i'm never surprised to find a video with only a few hundred views and a positive comment from you!. All the best from the UK
some pea stones/pebbles as a border around the mini pond would probably lend itself much like the red/orange turface did for the moss bushes. what fantastic progress on this penjing
Absolutely love the cozy peaceful look you display here. If it were a real place, it would be a good place to get away to write a bestselling novel or paint something beautiful.
Always a pleasure to see the master at work! I'm planning on my first group planting next spring hopefully. I've got a bunch of red maple seedlings growing now. So hopefully they will be ready next year or maybe the following year. Your videos are an inspiration keep up the great work
A little brutish but right to do, the trees will recover quickly, I love this penjing those buildings make it, I have done some penjing using Lonicera nitida cuttings and synthetic rocks used for aquariums as they are much lighter than solid rocks, one is a typical English garden with hedges and garden furniture which am very pleased with the other 2 are more Chinese style. Thanks Nigel for all your videos I love them.
I hope you get this city to a show pretty soon. I don't remember anyone having a city scene in the Toronto show. Even if the trees aren't mature enough, the scene would be very different from anything else and could serve as an inspiration to others.
I love this penjing and as somebody might guess (hint: my current avatar) I admire your ability to grow moss.😄 The addition of sand was a great idea and as you often say that there is often very little growth beneath the crown and close to the trunk of a tree. Also the other features you created with sand of course..
The sand improved the Penjing a lot! I love it. If you want an asymmetrical triangle - what about turning the main tree by 180 degree so the thick branch at the top is directing to the left? The scenery would look more vivid if you put in a few people maybe with a rickshaw, I suppose. 🎎
The main trunk on the front, center, tree was distracting me a bit, it seems a bit overgrown up top compared to the rest to me, and the branches off of it are a good bit larger than the two or three lower down. Anyway, just sharing a thought.
Love This Planting!
Penjing looks great, I would like to move into this neighbourhood one day!
Vietnam guy like it , u are a true bosai master!👍👍👍

Well,Ithink this is a beautifull ambiance ,and in the background nature really has its own way of making clear everything is well. Thanks for sharing.
This penjing is so lifelike with those finishin touches! Very cool, much wow! 💚
I really enjoy this landscape. If I was accidentally miniaturized, I think I could live well in that little ficus town.
Looks awesome love the sand
Wow Nigel! You are the king of landscapes! It's coming along fantastic!
I love how this planting is developing Nigel. Massive inspiration for me!
to my eye, it's a total win on the sand idea, the contrast and mini-look works well.......very nice sand garden effect...........many props
I live in one of the most well known green tea areas of Japan, so those bushes really give me tea plant vibes :-) Very nice landscape!

The sand has definitely added definition to the garden and your moss bushes and hedges. It’s starting to come alive!

Such a special planting!

Awesome!
The village looks great! How do you root prune and repot a penjing? Do you have to take the whole thing apart?
It is wonderful!! Congratulation it is great work! Ciao Nigel

ps- where did you get those little bricks? dont tell me you made them
So Almost first!
Hey Nigel, what kind of soap do you use to spray your trees? Love your videos, they got me into bonsai !
👍👌🍎🙂
Penjing looks great !
Nigel, do you know if Scott Winnard is okay? He hasn’t been posting videos for the last month or so.
Yes, Scott is fine, he has family visiting and is busy with work!
Can you tell how do you keep the moss so luss green

What about painting the bridge red? I like how this is coming along.
I like that idea, would match the red lanterns on the building nicely
i think the lamp also needs some kind of a man made spot. right now it sits there surrounded by moss. looks a little lost.
also the bridge and concrete blocks walkway could be connected. looks like that belongs together and will add more variety. just some inspration^.^
Thanks Daniel, yes I agree, I need to layout the garden much better!!
Nigel, It may look a bit tacky but maybe you can try blue gel or blue sand under the bridge to simulate water.
👏😱😍😍😍👍
🙏🇮🇩🇮🇩🙏
Why you don't use chemical insecticides to prevent scale insects?
About your scale problem: I gather there is a specific nematode that can be used for biological control. Might be worth looking into.
Foith... 😅
U said KINDA over 20 times thru this vid..driving me crazy..😄
Landscape looking great tho...great job..
the thumbnail looks like a giant male organ peeking in from the left.
