Great & easy tutorial to follow for mac, i learnt alot form this, & making any animation you want in keynote is super easy now :) . i made a clock with a rotating hand, it took some tires to get it working right, but once i got it working, it was great :) .
This is great! So far I have managed to do an 11 slide dolphin on a blue background (jumping, because I haven't been able to make it move smoothly yet, LOL), and I can't see if it's possible to make it a screen saver, but it's been fun to try this. Thanks for this lesson!!
I did exactly the same, once the animation is done and everything is perfect, at the end of it all the elements will disappear, even when i export it as a video, i want to keep all the elements in its place after the animation
@@4syriaonly On the second slide of the animation, go to the Animate sidebar, set the Transition to Automatically go to the next slide and set the number of seconds to wait.
Hi Gary! It seems like every time I type a question into Google your face pops up, so thank you for always being there! ☺ I would like to create a template in Keynote with drop-down menus. A main template with drop-down selections so I can customize the template for each personalized presentation. Is that possible in Keynote?
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do. Keynote doesn't have any kind of drop-down menu thing like that. Maybe you want something like this? ua-cam.com/video/HSxcI3xwVK4/v-deo.html
Can you help? Did this with an inserted video, but I can't get it to work. Video on the first slide is small, and then expands to the full size of the next slide. Works fine in Keynote, but when I export to a movie, the video doesn't play until the end, and the slide transitions, clipping the video.
Hi Gary could you help me with this please. I have a Imovie project about 25min. at 4.6 GB in a Mpeg4 file. My thumb drive is over 20GB in space but computer says can't be copied cause it's to large for volume format? How can I get the movie on a thumb drive? I would really appreciate it Thank you so much
What format is the drive? What are you copying to it, exactly? The whole iMovie project? Never try to work with a large project like that on a thumb drive. They are too slow. Work with it on your internal drive.
@@macmost hi Gary the thumb drive format says MS-DOS (Fat32) capacity 62GB Available 18.4 GB My imovie file is MPEG4 at 4.65GB Approx. 25 min. @@johnwickpick8621 Why do you have the drive formatted for old DOS machines? That's the problem. Get any files you have off that drive, then format it for macOS. If you really need it formatted for Windows too, use ExFAT, not FAT32.
@@macmost Well I just bought the thumb drive that way. I am using a Mac would you mind telling me how to format it correctly. Haven't formated drives before. Great appreciation sir.
Do you mean how do you use this in a video? Depends on what you are making. You can just export this as a video and use it in iMovie as an animation. Or, you could add audio narration and export as a video presentation to upload. The sky is the limit!
Gary you are the only one who can help me! When I open my magic move presentation in powerpoint it uses the "fade" animation instead using morph transition... then I save it in ppt with morph transition and when I open it in Keynote, it uses "dissolve"... how can I make "magic move " and "morph transition" compatible?
Keynote in iCloud seems to be very limited. For one, cannot use iCloud photos. Drag and drop does not work. Also, I created a presentation with a gradient for the main title. The gradient disappears in the iCloud version of Keynote. It appears in the thumbnail but not in the window.
@@macmost My point is why does Apple even have the Cloud version of Keynote when it clearly is very limited? Even in the desktop keynote, you cannot access Photos in the Cloud. So what is the point of storing photos in the Cloud if you can't use them?
@@bobcubsfan For collaboration with Windows and Linux users, for instance. Not sure what you mean by accessing photos here. Maybe these photos are not cached locally? I you are using "Optimize" that can happen. View the photos first to "download" them and then try again to see if that is your issue.
@@macmost I guess my point is that photos in the cloud, which are full resolution, should be available in any Mac app. Keynote, Pages, etc. But they are not. They have to be downloaded first. So then you forget you did this and end up with clutter on a drive. Over and over again. Even plugging in an iPhone does not work. The iPhone "selection" in Keynote is greyed out. Sorry to bother you with this. Don't want to take up more of your time. Thank you. Bob
@@bobcubsfan Turn off "Optimize" to get that. But you need the disk space to handle it. If you stick with "Optimize" on then no need to worry about "clutter" as it manages itself.
Hi Gary! It didn't work for me. I followed all the steps and it did not animate the way you showed (Magic Move). I was using Pics & Text within the Pics thats all! I can't figure out what i was doing wrong... I'm using Keynote version 14.0 Please advice. Thanks!
What happened instead? Are you sure you simply duplicated the slide and put the Magic Move on the right slide? Try following along closely with a new example presentation.
No. Magic Move acts on the slide itself, not an object. If you want to move/scale/rotate things independently, then apply "Action" animations, not Build In/Out on those things. ua-cam.com/video/QdPb6PB4GBs/v-deo.html
So with magic move I can use action animations.? So if I want the 3rd slide to do something different at the end just use the action animations….I think I tried that but it with magic move it only affects the first two slides 😟
@@BlackMarriageChronicle No I was suggesting using Action animations INSTEAD of Magic Move. But you can also use a series of Magic Moves from slide to slide. Just apply it to each slide and set them all up properly.

Magic Move is an effect between two slides. But you can string together as many as you like.
