This mango is from Gary Zill's breeding program in Boynton Beach, FL and was a Keitt seedling, possibly pollinated by 'Gary'. It is one of the finest flavored of the varieties to be selected from the project.
It has an extremely sweet and robust flavor that can be too much from some. A real sugar bomb. The flavor falls in the classic group and is comparable to Honey Kiss, but with even more intensity and sweetness. The flesh is yellow, fiberless, and contains a polyembryonic seed. It can sometimes develop some internal breakdown/jelly seed but we don't consider this a fatal problem for the cultivar.
It was released in 2016 and we planted several in 2017 for evaluation as a potential late-season alternative to Keitt.
The trees have been impressive producers for several seasons now. Though we suspect Cotton Candy is at least moderately prone to mango bacterial black spot, it may not be as susceptible as its parent the Keitt. Its season more mirrors that of Kent, a July to August timeframe for maturity.
Flavor: Classic
Country: Florida-USA
Now I need to add Cotton candy to my collection 😁👍 Thanks!!
Lol don’t you hate it , just when you say ok I’m done with adding mangos to my collection , you have to add one more lol
Thank you for this video as you covered all the main points I've been looking for. Would definitely love more content on late season vigorous varieties just like this one. SoCal mango growers really appreciate it. Thanks again!
Great video. Thanks
Great info…
Hi Paul… another gr8 video… suggest you invest in a couple of inexpensive clip on mics to improve sound quality. Cheers, John
I have a great mic I just got and will be using soon
I AM IN SOUTH FLORIDA, TOO. I LIVE IN PLANTATION
how many tress do you have
Thanks for the information 👍
I don't think he mentioned that the skin is really thick and tough. Boy, is it sweet! My experience has been it's best to eat these very firm, and don't expect fiberless. But so far I've only eaten a few.
Yes the skin is indeed fairly thick which is a good trait to have since the fruit doesn’t damage as easily. We haven’t found it to have noticeable fiber though. Cultural conditions could have an impact on that.

Wow 🤩
Do they have invasive roots?
I don't think they are different than any other mango. It depends on the size of the tree
Sangat keren
Do they do well in pots?
for a while but they are big trees so eventually you want to get them in the ground
