Are WE cooking crabs tonight????? Love crabs ......Nice catch of Blues.. yummy yum yum ...... I won't say anything about your secret sauce !!! WE are eating good tonight......
@lutherprince9304 we need to go check the traps again. What we caught for this video the traps were not baited. We probably will be cooking more crabs. Just the weather is not letting us do much of anything
@Marsh-Mechanic they did have a really good flavor. I think if they were placed inside of a baking pan with just a little water on the bottom of the pan and then covered with aluminum foil, they would be better
Lucky day no breeze here in August. I caught that secret sauce Dee, that little crab was still twitching can't get fresher than that ! I saw they have a Maxwell House factory in Jax, FL they even do tours since you mentioned coffee you know that's the best smell in a mall for me, otherwise not going. Now I see there's Foldgers factory by you in N.O. ! GJ is a coffee fan too.
@@Timewalkerv straight from the bay to the pit. Dee said next time we need to fix it where they cook with steam on the pit. Probably would have to use some type of pan.
@@BoondockingCajunstyle Roger that! I’ll let you know how we do I only got 4 traps out I need to bring two more with me next time cause the crabs are everywhere in the bay here in bay St. Louis Ms
@@BoondockingCajunstyle Update; traps went missing herd a guy said theirs a guy checking traps at night around here cause i had rebar in em n they didnt just move. but anyways im building more and putting em in a different location
@grantfoster9099 that is terrible to hear, ain't nothing makes me madder than someone robbing, especially fishing gear. I've lost 5 the first couple of years. Lately everything has been staying put.
Born a South East Louisiana boy, but I have never seen bbq gumbo crab. I would love to try this if I only knew a dang spot I could catch some from the bank in Mississippi Gulf coast.
@anonymousf454 this was the first time we tried on the pit. We done them in the oven and they came out really good. I think next time I do them on the pit, they will be in a baking pan with a touch of water and covered with aluminum foil Thank you for watching and commenting
@@BoondockingCajunstyle I actually watched someone on youtube batter and fry gumbo crabs as well....and that was also a new one to me. I absolutely love some fried soft shells, but never knew you could fry regular gumbo crabs. I do not remember if they showed them eating them though, so I dont know how they pull that off...lol.
@@BoondockingCajunstyle I dont know. They honestly looked pretty good. I just wonder if frying them softens the claws and body structure or something. I cant see adding a layer of batter to a crab that you have to break open and dig out the meat anyway. Im sure it would be delicious, but tedious to enjoy. Im sure there is a trick to eating it or the frying process does something to the shell structure so its easier to eat....but I dont really know.
Thank you both for sharing a fine meal...fresh crabs is one of the best...jumbo season is coming.
@craigh3381 first little cold snap and the big pot will be on the stove cooking up a chicken and sausage gumbo.
Your house boat is fantastic, the grills and all. Your livin the good life.
Your a very talented man, love your videos.
Take care and be safe!!!
@mrk2163 thank you very much. We are trying our best to enjoy life when we can.

@davidasimkosr4641 yes in deed. So many different ways to cook crab, makes it hard to get tired of them
Hello 👋 from Houma good to see you guys like the show my friend
@gregburgess6251 thank you hello from New Iberia. Thanks for watching and commenting
Awesome video as usual! Man those crab looked so good I could almost smell them. 🦀🦀🦀🦀👀
@@lutherprince9304 they were good, but we think that we can do them a little differently and make them even better
@@BoondockingCajunstyle I love them any kind of way. 😂

Those crabs looked really good like that! Never tried them like that gonna have to try it! Cool breeze and coffee can’t beat it! Good one man.

Running my traps tomorrow and I think I’m gonna have bbq crabs tomorrow night! They taste really good on the pit!
@grantfoster9099 I think putting them in a pan with a little water and covering with aluminum foil, would be better than going directly onto the pit

@grantfoster9099 there you go. Find a place with some current and a hard bottom, this normally works for me

@@anonymousf454 I've only tried soft shell crabs fried, no other way. Maybe the batter stops the crab from sucking up the grease.
