I would love more tool hacks. Personally, i would love to hear more of the percussion side of things, like the drums or the Tabla that they use in some of their songs.
Hi, I REALLY enjoyed the song. The shift to the numer 7 at the end, the LAteralus-feel and the "old" used percussions within a new sound. The Progression Maynard showed with the new APC-LPand the great atmosphere they are creating and riding throughout the song... Some friends think the song is boring because od the missing climax, but I already heard some stuff at the concert in Berlin and know... what is coming!
Bass Lightyeah more Tool bass! Justin seems to be using delay quite frequently (fear innoculum and invincible).. I also enjoy his mix of power cords in his riffs..
More Tool type stuff please. Guitar is my preference, but how to program polymeter drums in a DAW would be awesome. BTW, superb post, instant subscribe and shared with my muso friends.
it is soo cool that you decipher this songs, thanks so much. I get the groove easily just counting to 4/4 and then one 3/4... and that's how I easily manage all odd times... once I know how they split it..... Thanks Harmonies!
Yes, more Tool please! Would be fascinating to take apart Dan Carey's insane drum parts. The complexity of Ticks & Leeches, or the polymeters in Third Eye.
Hey hey, it's great to see you again, LHG! How's sunny Surrey? By the way, are you listening to any new music that you'd like us to hack? Take care, and talk soon! Kate :)
@@HackMusicTheory Surrey is indeed still sunny! Been keeping up with watching your videos all this time. I find myself listening to a lot of chilled out stuff these days (Kate Davis, Norah Jones, Jade Bird, Danger Mouse), but if you fancy tackling something classic then I'd love to see you hack Queen's complex vocal harmonies!
Anything Tool is great, I’d also love any tips/lessons you could do for Intronaut. They’re a lesser known band but musically have a lot of similarities w Tool.
Awesome, thanks for watching, Otis, and a warm welcome to the Hack Music Theory community! What kind of music do you make? Take care, and we hope to see you again soon for more theory hacks :)
Haha, happy to hear it Anish, and a warm welcome to our Hack Music Theory community! We publish new vids every Friday, so we hope to see you again soon for more theory hacks! Until then, have a wonderful week :)
Thank you for taking the time to really demystify some interesting fascinating rhythms I do have a request Virgil Donati please beginning song called in this life if you can hack that song let me know what time signature it's in that would be great thanks again for all your support and your great caring and sharing
Hello! The last week I only saw "Tool is on Spotify" memes on r/metalmemes :)) and it was just getting annoying. But hey! They're on spotify and it's really a good thing to know. I spend a lot of time sitting behind my computer and I need good music, so one of the greatest bands of all time is now on spotify and I can have more good music! Anyway, I really like to see more guitar hacks from tool songs. Have a great weekend \m/
Nope, sorry, your TOOL inspired riff is way way better than the TOOL song you modeled it from. In fact, I like that riff better than anything I've heard off of the new album. ***So sorry, Adam; I still really love your playing and ultimately you are still my favorite guitar player.***
Wow, that's quite the compliment!!! Thank you sincerely, that means the world to me! By the way, if you like my riff that much, then maybe you'll enjoy some of my other music too, like this song: ua-cam.com/video/8ojg4vEDGjs/v-deo.html Thanks big time once again, you're incredibly kind :)
You guys a few days to do this and it took Tool 13 years. I got to be honest about tools new music I think they've done everything they've already can or have said musically. Not worth the wait.
Watch part 2 in our TOOL series: ua-cam.com/video/Ybgz0QvaE5k/v-deo.html
What do you think of the new Tool song? Also, would you like more Tool hacks? And if so, for what instrument?
The Drums and bassline pls 💛

So cool. I’m curious. Does Ray first compose in his DAW then learn how to play it on guitar or does he write it in guitar?
