    *excellent review and beautiful trail.. GX is always the answer. As a GX460 fanboi the GX550 is "large size" as the GX460 was a small 109" wheelbase... this GX550 is now the size of the LC200 at 112"... did you feel the size of the GX550 could handle tight/narror trails or did it feel fat?*

      It did not feel fat. Granted the last vehicle I had out there was the fat sequoia.

    Are you planning to get a 2024 LC for testing? It has a shorter front overhang with better approach angle and slightly better articulation.
    Regarding the pricing of the OT+ trim, Toyota is only building them fully loaded and they are priced at $81k and up. Once the port loads them up with options, they're normally in the $82-83k range. Paying an additional $10k for memory seats is painful.

      We should have one at some point. I have seen it in our fleet of vehicles we pull from but it has not hit my schedule yet.

    Can someone explain why you want both a center and rear locking differential? How does a center diff work? what is it locking exactly?

    FYI - about time code 2:50 you say (and the caption reads) "We do have locking front and center differentials". It's actually locking center and rear diffs. Just wanted to point that out in case anyone watches the video and expects a front locker. ;)

    Hey Cory, the lexus gx may be the better off roader than the sequoia (trd pro), but the sequoia (capstone) has the better luxurious interior of any of the GX 550s.

    A very nice vehicle for sure, but I am stuck (no pun intended) on the Ford Bronco Raptor R. I always enjoy your vehicle videos Cory. Holli needs some wheel time on your mountain test (fun) track.

    the engines in the GX 550 is being recalled, all the trucks are stuck at port. Dont buy! The Tundras are having huge issues. For once the Ford is better option than the Toyota

      That’s why I suggest people wait a few years before buying new gen models. Find out what the recalls are and see if they fix those issues

      That isn't fully accurate. The engine in the 2022-2023 Tundra and LX600 is being recalled. The assumption is that Toyota has already implemented the manufacturing process fix prior to manufacturing of the GX550.

      @@TXJ232 Its fully accurate or why in the month of July are their barley any GX 550 at dealers and most of them stuck at port as they trickle them out, not knowing what to actually do with them. Cheap interior and poor lack of quality is another issue, hood vibration at 60 MPH too. I was told directly by the mechanic at Lexus, avoid all these V6 trucks including the GX 550, he said at any moment they become a huge engine mess, they had one sales manager driving a demo and the truck left him stranded and it was still on the lift at the dealer for over month... so their is no assumption, only proof that they are having major issues.

      The QC hold was because of a problem with the sunroof drains, not the engine. Can you provide evidence of a single instance of GX550 engine failure?

      Yes… the one at my local dealer that is still on a lift, that GM was driving until it left him stranded.
