So yess the spirit gives us this gift. in verse 5 the bile makes clear that there were men there from “every ‘nation’ under heaven” (it is very important to understand that there were people of different nationalities there) Going down to verse 6, it say that now when this was noised abroad, the multitude cam ‘together’ and were confounded (to be confused or surprised) because that every man heard them speak in his own LANGUAGE! The bible is very clear. On the day of pentecost, every person heard the message in their own language and no one need to as God for the interpretation of it because it was already said so that they could understand. Speaking in tongues is speaking in another language. Continue to verse 7 in the book of acts chapter 2 u see how the people were amazed at this and asked each other are these not men that speak galillaeans (language of the people residing in Galilee).
