As a teen in the 80s, Saturday mornings were mandated for household chores. As an avid dancer/music lover, my mother would enhance the mandate with the musical sounds of Jocelyn Brown. My fondest 80s memories include us turning mundane chores into dance performances of “Somebody Else’s Guy”, as well as Cheryl Lynn’s “Encore” and “Got to Be Real”. Great Reaction Jack…I will never stop dancing to this hit! Keep ‘‘em coming!
Was 8 when this song first played on the radio in Philly going to spend the weekend with my newly separated father at his sister's house. I fell in love with it instantly 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Jocelyn is so underrated. Her vocal range is amazing. Check out a House remix that is a masterpiece: Ministers De-La-Funk Featuring Jocelyn Brown - Believe.
Even though I know you won't play this song, but I got the song that you would dig because it's old school sensual. SYLVIA singing "Pillow Talk" (Live long version from Soul Train)
The most common voice categories are: bass, tenor, alto, and soprano. There are others: mezzo soprano, contralto, lyric baritone, etc, that occupy the spaces between the most common voice types.
Great reaction! Jack are you studying music or music production? You have a great ear. I said to myself, "that's a keyboard synth" and you said it right after 😂. So glad you're back doing the videos. Are you still doing the lives also? Hope you have a great week 🙏🏽😊☀️
I love this song. An older woman (29 with 3 kids) was crushing on me (21 married no kids) when I was enlisted. She sang this everyday at work. I had no idea why she was doing this. I missed out. We reconnected through Facebook in 2015. She was on a TV show highlighting a field hospital and trauma unit in Iraq during the Iraq War from 2006-2009 passed away in 2017😢 after a stroke and aneurysm. Rest up Sadie❤
🕺🏿 Okay, you just made me love this jam even more than I already did. Heard this song countless times over the years, and never understood stood it on the level you have.
there is a song that sounds VERY similar to this called "Bad Habit" by Jenny Burton. it was recorded in 1985 and must've had the same Producer because it is "Somebody Else's Guy" Part 2 as far as i am concerned.

😆I laughed at your reaction so hard when that beat dropped after her solo. I was waiting for it. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
🌟Awesome Reaction🌟
I appreciate the kind words!

She's has sung with so many groups/people, Incognito to name one,
Ahhhh! Finally a good reactor reacting to this gem! 😍
One of my all time favorite classics. Keep up with the music requests @JackReacts. Kudos to the person who requested this to him too 😉
This is what we call a PowerHouse. She was out prior to Whitney Houston
Another amazing dance song from back in the day. So much fun.
SWV also uses some of the chorus
"OH what am I supposed to do " in their some "I'm so into you"
Jack, you should have been a teenager in the 70's. You are an "old soul". We would've been jamming in the clubs!!!!
Many a press and curl was sweated out dancing to this one!
My youth ❤

This a banger!
Wow I remember when I was a kid .. my mom cleaning the house while this song was playing on the radio 📻 .. This is a jammer 👍🏼🤩
Classic 80's stuff.....the best stuff...
a club favorite back in the dy!
Played it again just to look at your facial expression when the beat dropped. You did not disappoint.😂
We actually did a Soul Train line to housing at my Aunt’s wedding reception because the beat was so fire
I was waiting on your reaction to the beat drop😊
That switch up was amazing!
Classic feel good song 😂
You should def react to “ENCORE” by cheryl Lynn
When Love Calls Atlantic Star
U make me smile when u do ur lil dance ❤❤❤😂😂
Always a treat to see somebody hearing this for the first time ... must be one of the funkinest songs ever ...!!!😁
Jack, react a "Molasses" and "Breathing Underwater" by
Hiatus Kaiyote These songs have a unique feel
Hiatus Kaiyote is the bomb!
They used a sample of her singing "I got the power" on that 90s song
I loved this!!! Great song, great reaction Jack.
Jocelyn Brown sang with a group called Sal Soul Orchestra
🕺🏿 Okay, you just made me love this jam even more than I already did. Heard this song countless times over the years, and never understood stood it on the level you have.
She was out before Whitney Houston
Mantronix, got to have your love. I think you would enjoy that one Jack, big club anthem in the uk early 90s
I'm telling my age but they had a rap version of this also
My go to karaoke song ❤

Yep, Fred McFarlane produced both songs.
The beat reminds me of Jamiroqua’s “Virtual Insanity” that came out in the late 90s. I’ve only heard this song a couple of times.
@@CRobb-ql4zp okay now i know. i always found that if you follow a Producer's work you'll find similar songs.
BBQ MUSIC 🎶 💃🔥🔥🎶🎶
Absolutely🔥
Love Dru Hill, but that video and your commentary were quite an entertaining distraction. The mug stare, the tiger, and the baby daddy drama! 😂😂
You need to react to Jocelyn Brown version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough the Larry Levan remix she nails it
I suggest "Black Patch" by Laura Nyro.
😂😂😂😂
The other half of two tons of fun..
React to Eric Benet - “poetry girl”.
that music does not sound like me
Unfortunately this was her only hit
