Yours is a good video. Blasphemous is haunting and, disturbing yet awe inspiring. In my not-so-humble opinion, Blasphemous deserves to be in the top 10 of Metroidvanias along with Super Metroid or, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Love the Nioh soundtrack Blasphemous is still my top game of recent years. There's an honesty and ambition to tell a straight story that lacks the cynicism of a lot of other games
I don't know how I came across this channel in my recommendations but I am very grateful. Definitely want to try this game! I appreciate your thorough review.
Not sure why you’re so underrated. Amazing videos! First review I’ve seen that includes the DLC so that was nice. You also have a stellar catalogue of videos
i think you overanalyze your ultimate disappointment in Ending C. By your own admission, and by that ending's true interpretation.....the powers that be still endure in some sense. The processions EXISTED....formed from people's own dreams, guilt and fervour! The Miracle....also, may well still exist...certainly SOME insane powers are at work beyond the High Wills. Crisanta's greater role....as you know from playing the base 2019 game was always in the mortar....she was set up as the Penitent One's opposite....she was given a bit too much of a broken hearted but honorable defeat AND escape in the base game.....and of course she set about UNDOING your temporary band-aid on the problem in Ending B. Having her eyes opened...especially the way they did it with her being the first warrior chosen by the Traitor/Visage of Abnegation....was such an inevitable outcome. But...to return to Cvstodia and its young mythos.....early on, I noticed a distinction between malignant divinity....like the kind Escribar seemed to have on his side, although even HE seemed cynical about it......and true blessed divinity. For whatever reason, Jocinero and many of the more virtuous departed citizens of Cvstodia, like...Perpetva, Tentudia, Engracia, Soledad.....all have some form of power to work against the Miracle. Jocinero especially seems both divine and against the Miracle. There are a few tiers of heavenly power going on, and conquering one cruel god doesn't unravel the true mystery of a land that seems ruled by strange phenomenon.....which some explain as not always being the case!
Amazing video. I am also surprise you didn't mention any of the catholic influence in blasphemous. It his really different and way harder when you were raised in stories that are pretty much exactly as disturbing as the ones in the game, but they present them as "the grace of god". This game made me feel understood.
Absolutely spectacular as always I'm glad you chose this game even though I have not played it and your discussion of the game is quite nice, if you want to pick up a Metroid game my favourite one was Metroid zero mission back on the DS and game boy and I think there's plenty of emulators that you can use, there is of course also super Metroid but I tended to enjoy that one less
@@sueflewelling3657 All the monsters in the Witcher are great! I like how most of them are derived from folklore from different countries, but often with a bit of a twist. The vampires were done really well too, especially with how they were depicted in the Blood and Wine DLC.
Steam sale till 2.13.23 for $6.24 definitely worth a pick up

Pretty good analysis of the game and world
Also indie devs tend to share their IPs with each other. I think its fun and forms a good relationship with one anothrr
My first metroidvania (I think) was Sundered. Rogue legacy isn’t a metroidvania I think?
"betrothed" lmao
Whenever you said "miracle" I heard "medical"

The original was English. They dubbed it into Spanish later
Nice
The second game just came out. I wonder what you think of it and if you're gonna make another video like this one
I'll 100% play Blasphemous 2 at some point and will defo make a vid on it! Hopefully I like it as much as the first game.
good video is it ok if I ask you a question
Sure!
@@candletype1a447ok have you heard of the witcher
Yeah, of course. I haven't played the first game, but briefly played the second, then went on to absolutely love The Witcher 3.
@@candletype1a447what do you think of the monsters pecifically the vampire
