--"The Man From Utopia" was originally recorded by Donald Woods and the Vel-Aires on the Flip label. Its b-side was a hit for The Kingsmen, "Death Of An Angel".
--"Mary Lou" was originally recorded by Young Jessie on either the Modern or RPM label, and made a hit by Ronnie Hawkins.
--In interviews, Steve Vai said that Frank had him transcribe "The Jazz Discharge Party Hats" (Possibly as part of his audition? That's my brainfart if not...) Steve then played the overdub you hear with Frank on the record.

I talk about in the video how Steve Vai transcribed the vocals and then overdubbed the guitar for Jazz Discharge
