He is our Baltimore treasure. I will never forget drinking in a city bar and looking over to see John sipping his drink I smiled and like the rest of the bar never bothered him .

Good for you, that would be so hard for me not to go up and say something to him but he probably just wanted to be left alone

John Waters, a national treasure. His humor is addictive. His insights are spot on because he knows how to read people.

An entrance ramp where people are picking up speed to merge on the interstate may have been a bad spot to hitchhike-lol

Interesting that one moment he seemed to have the facial expression of a neighbour. Should I be scared?

I'm an anti science, pro animal, activist and the tactics used against me are absolutely horrendous, so I appreciate anything on the internet that is a diversion.

Loss of respect is not hate. If everyone just said "welp haters gonna hate" nothing would ever progress. Hate is not a good thing btw and is anti-social. John Waters is correct here, but not when he calls Caitlyn, Bruce, as he has done recently, which I can only see as adding fuel to the fire of real anti-trans discrimination and violence. Dehumanizing people is one thing, making fun of their tacky families and political position is another.
"The thing is, sometimes it’s not just about hate, or the other person
being truculent. Sometimes, you do something thoughtless, or dumb, or
short-sighted, and the way to respond when called out is to think about
it a bit. And explain it, or defend yourself, or whatever. Just dissing
and dismissing critics as “haters” doesn’t really get any of us
      anywhere."

So where's the line between "making fun of" and "dehumanizing"? Because I'm all for the former. Comedy is something that cannot be censored.

The alleged comedy of blackface from the early 20th century was actually dehumanizing,. It's not hard to understand the differences between comedy and concepts which dehumanize *whole groups of people*
