- Pseudo Echo are an Australian New Wave band formed in 1982 in Melbourne. The original line-up consisted of Brian Canham (vocals, guitars and keyboards), Pierre Gigliotti (as Pierre Pierre) (bass guitar, keyboards), Tony Lugton (guitars and keyboards) and Anthony Argiro (drums). A later line-up included James Leigh (keyboards) and his brother, Vince Leigh (drums). In the 1980s, Pseudo Echo had Australian top 20 hits with "Listening", "A Beat for You", "Don't Go", "Love an Adventure", "Living in a Dream" and their cover of "Funky Town", which peaked at No. 1 in 1986. In 1987, it reached No. 1 in Canada and New Zealand, No. 6 in United States and No. 8 in United Kingdom.
2021 and this song is still a bop. Pseudo Echo was criminally underrated.
Stay safe friend.
Brian Canham had an amazingly deep voice for a young guy. Best thing about 80's music was everybody seemed to have fun in their film clips. Still sounds great in 2015

Seen him at snow a few years ago
Yes his amazing deep voice still sounds the same today, as long as Brian never leaves, it will always be PE.
spot on. plus they just looked like normal people. love this
that's because he made a pact with Satan
A great 80's song from Melbourne!!!
I was blessed to see them in concert playing a small venue. t was an awesome 👌 concert. 🎉😊
Stay safe.
One of my absolute fave band! Pseudo Echo echoing happy days of my long ago youth!
2019 ........... and still amazing !!
2021.... still timeless!👌👍
2022 forever Pseudo Echo
I was an 80's girl, but I never heard of these guys before. I just recently found them and can't get enough of their sound! They're awesome!
Aussie music at it's best. Never underestimate Aussies AC/DC, Easybeats, Psuedo Echo.
good memories
You missed men at work ?
LRB
Not to forget Icehouse!
I am truly blessed being friends with Brian since late 90s
Really? Lucky you. What is he like? He seems like a nice shy guy.
Sorry, guess it's none of my business. I just admire his talent ambition and success. Just curious to see if he was a nice guy.
what a great song from a great group of the 80's
A MONSTER Hit from these dudes !
Aussie music at it's best. Never underestimate Aussies AC/DC, Easybeats, Psuedo Echo.

I always loved Pseudo Echo’s remixes of their songs. Their 12 inch remixes crapped all over other bands at the time. I loved their extended play album. Pseudo Echo were also the first Aussie band that I saw underage. Before photo identification the paper licenses could be manipulated and changed. I saw the band at the Tivoli in Sydney as well as Sydney Cove Tavern. I loved Sydney Cove Tavern. I saw Boom Crash Opera there quite a few times.
You said it!
how do i get a concert replay
I've always loved this band, great hair! Saw them in concert with Village People in Sydney many years ago haha. I had their extended remixes (long plays) on cassette...boy Im getting old
from the country that had the sickest mullets, Iva davies, Pseudo echo etc etc. we aussies had the best mullets.
But most of all the best music!
Clearly, you didn’t visit Canada during that time.
That was what I noticed first! Wow!
I thought the US had some plush mullets, but these lads have them beat! :-D
Didn’t we create them??😏
Our mullets were FILTHY👍
I like a band that smiles and has fun performing. They had such great chemistry.
Stay safe.
@@johnmoore3926 Thx. You as well.
The current generation missed out on the 80s best decade ever .
They sure did. The young people have such a hard life today. Poor kids. The 80s was so much better.
It's hard for them to believe because they have it so rough. Every is a struggle. 75% of Americans living Paycheck to Paycheck. We are all struggling today.
Want to turn back time to the 1980s. I don't like today's America. So rough unless you are a Millionaire or upper middle class.
@@TimeTraveler.981 No creativity anymore music now isnt Moody or Atmospheric like the 80s it took you to timeless place .
@@haydenwittig8877 True 👍. Record companies have to spend one to three million dollars to promote a band or a singer. They don't allow them creativity in the lyrics or music. That's why all the songs sound the same. Disappointing. Too bad younger Generations don't have music like we had in the 80s and 90s.
80s music ruled!!!!
what a great song from a great group of the 80's
Omfg Incredible!!!🎶🎼🎵🎼
101% 1985 memories through and through. I recorded it from our new 1985 vhs player and watched it to PIECES and I got the album as my Birthday present too in '85 :-) xoxo
Good times !! ;)
Mullet central....Great song though, loved this as a 9 yr old growing up in Melbourne in late 1985!
Richmond Tiger me too i was 11
Richmond Tiger *Me too! I was 16, had their albums!*
👍👍💖
Mullets and plucked/waxed eyebrows central you mean.
Wasn't really a mullet. They pinned their hair back on the sides. But it was all there. 😂
In the video just the band not everyone else lol
The sounds of this song reminds me of that year when I was in the 6th grade. A magical time to be 11 years old.
I'm hearing you - Grade 6 and 11 years old is me too in 1985. p.s. Sucks being over 40 now though : (
Aus80sRockRadio i was in tear 6 also! ahhh good rimes..youd aso remember aha take on me then lol
***** Yes that was one of the most memorable songs of that year, as well as 'Live it up' by Mental as Anything.
Same, music in the 80s was THE BEST!!! The best thing is they are a Melbourne group!!!
germanicelt tears for fears were still in the carts too
Seeing them live this Saturday with 1927 - will be great.
OMG. I love 1927 too. You are so lucky. Have a great time.

I’ve seen them probably 8 times in concert. Aaaah, the 80’s.
do you think anyone here really gives a shit ?
A MONSTER Hit from these dudes !
1985 was the best year...
1985 was the best year for music. Don't Go was right at the top of the list for me too. Loved it and still do. Can anyone tell me how this tune was left off the American/European album?
Can t believe they missed the best Pseudo Echo song off the album. Yes, its better than Funky Town.
Anyone remember "1986 Out Now"? Had Kate Bush's Running up the Hill, and Don't Go on it. Would love to see Don't Go back in the charts. Don't Go should have gone to number 1, just like Kate Bush has and deserved too as well.
Love this song 🥰
one of Aussies great groups of the eighties
Right about the fun film clips... can't beat the Eighties for that
2019 concert in Adelaide was the best love that 80's music.
Omg if only there was a time machine to go back here to the 80s. I miss those days so much.
Still great during COVID-19.
Saw these guys in NZ in 87 and they were fantastic live. Thought Pierre was super hot!
Very Very Nice!!!!!!
Physudo echo was my first band I ever seen. Coming from the country,They were BIG!! Like there HAIR!! Lol .2020 Victoria is in lock down again.!. Piece out😎

Love the hair and...gosh, Brian was so handsome
brillient band
Love these guys
I forgot about this great song
My second favourite song, after funky town. Brian has a great voice for some one of his age.
Takes me back to 1984
It's weird how Brian looked so different with makeup then you watch a film clip where he hasn't got make up and think is that the same guy lol either way Aussies were at the top of their game in the 80s leading into the 90s then there became less and less awesome Aussie singers which is heartbreaking but that's life I'm just glad we can look back
These guys fuckin rock! Timeless....... llalalalalaaaa lalalalaaaaa alalalalaaaaa
great song!
There music ( and those Mulletts) were definitely original 👍
#BringThe80sBack
Agree with the hashtag, but stop trying to make fetch happen...it's NOT going to happen! :-P
Love this song
Never heard of this some song but it's cool in 2022!
All l can say ! It's a great song!!!!!¡!!!
what a great song from a great group of the 80's
The anthem for Debt collectors
:) ... :p ... Aussie New Wave !!!
Best funky song they did
Don t Go !!!!!
I always wondered why Australian performers always seemed so different to American acts in the 80s - and then I realized. Australians had their own hair, no wigs.
80,s hair music and fashion far beats today's style and music by far. By very very very very far.
And this people, is why you should pay your electricity bills on time.
(Love this song though).
pure energyy
The Drummer’s hair is wicked!!!!
I would stay beside you Brian. 😊 There are many ways a woman can keep a man awake.
I would even pay off your debts.
I forgot I had this : Well I did many years ago it's either in loft/attic or I sold it for some cigarettes
the KIK drum was full of hair gel-- true
2023 still lovin it
He was still us a hottie 💔🔥🔥
:) ... :p ... Aussie New Wave !!!
the keyboardist is adorable
Nuwave was over - and these guys went back to big hair rock and melody...and it worked , sort of..
Brian and Pierre so cute

They could be considered a teen idol band groups today if they came out today. They have the looks. Just need to change the hairstyle. Hahaha

from back in the days when a big ass reel to reel was playing all the backing and they sync'd to it.... kinda cheating then but totally the norm now... could say they were ground breaking in Oz.
don't understand this comment (i'm music/tech illiterate) but but u saying these guys were lyp syncing live? any case they made gr8 pop music
@@steventsiamis3257 no not lip sync... the guys play and sing for real and one of the best live bands for well over 30yrs.... when i say a 'reel to reel playing all the backing', from what i could tell in 1988 the tape seemed to play vocal harmonies, half the instruments and drums too unless the snare and toms were midi triggered and they had a sampler or drum module... totally normal now for small to huge bands to completely sync with a backing track which in big shows also sync's the light show and fx... these guys were leaders in their time.

Now, in Melbourne, we really do have such 'diversity' outnumbering, overwhelming and threatening us outside our doors.
Sydney had good bands too. Massappeal. The hard ons don't forget Nik Cave but fester fanatics was yours I think. Candy harlots saw hunter's and collecters never forget spy vs spy Sydney band
The Peak of the 1980s when Guys looked 100 times more better lookng than the Girls.
This band in my time was the shit my sister had shit all over I used her hairspray
Ah the 80s. Question was.... Is the hair big enough? Answer: always no. 🤣
The music? Still every bit as catchy as ever.
Great song, but a horrible film clip.
Christian Freud usually is lol
Astro Boy spotted.
that was the drummer, Anthony Yohan Argiro's fave show was
Pin me no balls
Cool
Is it really a mullet when there's more on top than behind? Party in the front, party in the back lol #rootperm
Now they don't have any. I feel so old.
Isn't it business upfront party in the back ?
😁
