My cat passed away last week. He had been a sweet companion for 18 years. He lived a long life, and probably had been quite happy most of his time. But it was still extremely heartbreaking to see him suddenly collapse towards the inevitable end.
Sure, it's the law of nature. And nature is cruel.
I couldn't describe my feelings when he was gone. Death felt so unreal. The sadness, guilt and confusion felt so real.
I was listening to this song over and over again. Sheena Ringo wrote it when she lost her cat. Word by word, I can feel how she experienced the departure the same way as I am doing. She put the words buried under my sorrow into this beautiful song.
Hence I play the song. For my boy, my furry brother. I don't believe in after life, but I wish you were in a better place now.
