It being a view/scale focus camera, the lens and viewfinder is not connected. The viewfinder is just for composing. You have to guess/measure the distance to your subject and then set the lens to that distance indicated on the lens markings. It is not an exact science! Shooting subjects like landscapes at infinity focus, is easiest. Closeup portraits or subjects are harder to get sharp focu on, because you have to guess the distance right. Shooting at wide open apertures is also tougher in closer subjects, because depth of field is shallower. Landscapes, at f16, shot at infity focus - always sharp! Lol.
It is 35mm film this camera uses. The 45mm is the lens's focal length. 45mm film is not a format I am aware off :) Kodak Gold is available in 135 (aka 35mm) and 120 format (for medium format cameras)
I have resently bought an used exemplar of a dacon super dignette. It was quiet cheap, so I did exspect that it wouldnt work. And i actually doesn't- i think. I haven tested it with a film jet, but when i press the button to take the picture (btw. sorry English isnt my first laguage) the dark front opens but doesnt close again, i think that will "over-light" the film. So is there a missunderstanding from my side about the camera or is ist acually broken, and if do you have an idea how to fix it maybe. I mean the shouter close by pulling the lever, but it doesnt shut again after i "took" a picture
That is exactly what happens to mine. So the problem is actually small, they just open it up and move the shutter blades a bit, sometimes just clean it and maybe a bit of lubrication. It is just sometimes a bit of dirt, BUT a professional technician is expensive (it still takes them time to do it). There is a video on UA-cam where a guy show show to fix that problem on the Ilford Sportman (same camera), so if you are good with technical stuff, I am sure you can fix it. It is not a big mechanical problem, I think.
@@danienelphoto I think i will try that. It was really cheap so its not that much of a big lost if didnt get it working. Thank you alot. Do you possibly know what the name of the video or the creater was? If not I am sure i will somehow find it, i would just know if its the right one, yk? Again thank you a lot, i hope i will get it working- would be realy cool.
My parents are getting a new kitchen fitted and found this camera at the back of one of their cupboards. They were going to throw it out! I'm a complete novice when it comes to old cameras so this video was very helpful in learning what all the different dials do. I might head out tomorrow and buy some film and have a bit of fun with it
Have you ever used a Dacora? Please share your experience.

When you used Kodak 200 were you able to find 45 mm film? All I can find is 35.
