- Primary school teacher George Konstantinidis is an amateur mycologist who transformed the world of Greek mycology.
Stephen Axford and Catherine Marciniak were lucky enough to steal a day of his time to chat to him about his forays into the Kingdom of Fungi, the mushrooms of Greece, the best way to pick a boletus,
and why he calls the body of fungus - mother mycelium.
Music courtesy of Manitarock - George's mushroom rock band.

He has been invited to document the fungi in Nepal, India, China, Myanmar, Thailand, Mexico and Chile, and of course it is a constant obsession in the fungi hotspots of Tasmania, the NSW north coast and southern Queensland in Australia. He is a Sony Australia ambassador.

George is a huge chapter for the Greek (and not only) world of mushrooms. We were all inspired by him and started the wonderful journey in the world of fungi. We thank him very much for this and you too for presenting his incredible work.
Congrats for this documentary! Mr George Konstantinidis is a pioneer in Greek mushrooms. He've inspired many of us to dive into the world of wild mushrooms. Anastasia and me (Chris) have discovered wild mushrooms some 5 years ago because of the pocket book of Mr Konstantinidis we've got our hands to. Since then we travel to Greek mountains searching, collecting, learning and presenting as much as we can in a casual and informative way.
Thanks again for this excellent presentation!
👏👏👏👏👏💕🍄 Thank you so much! I learned so much more about mushrooms and Greece from this amazing interview! Truly grateful for the superb questions you asked George and his answers opened my mind more about the life of mushrooms and the relationship humans have with them and nature. I look forward to more amazing trips you guys go on to see such rare beautiful mushrooms and the amazing people who love them too! Keep up the fantastic work! 👍
Wonderful video, thank you!
Stephen and Catherine, such a fabulous documentary not only on the mushroom topic but also the wonderful environmental lessons both yourselves and George put so well. I think this video really should be compulsory school education.
Another topic of some interest is your striking Blue t-shirt, or t-shirts, and where you could get them. Unless you just had them done as one offs?
Best Wishes, Richard, Canberra

Awesomeness Thank You 😎
Thank you so much for this!
Thanks to him… his work and his team…👍👍👍
Mushrooms are amazing! I kept my dog with prostate cancer alive for 14 months using a mushroom immune complex. The vet said he was amazed as he had never seen a dog that lived that long with prostate cancer. I remember collecting morels at the father-in-law's farm. they are indeed superb!
Vets are now doing surgery for prostate cancer in dogs, a far better option, there are dogs living 4+ years after surgery.
Oh, my Lord! What a pleasant surprise! I wish to be an explorer, a preserver of beauties of our Planet, but I am just a Physics high scool teacher, who loves the nature!❤
