I love your channel because I like to keep up with your perspective and projects, always love to see your videos about opinions on things. Analogue Horror is still in baby steps but I agree and is probably the best we have seen yet from internet culture when it comes to art. Not just about the videos but also the way people react to them and what they do to "figure out" the puzzle of the story. Games could have done this beautifully the more and more multiplayer became the norm and integration of online but kind of sad no one took up P.T. and did something lengthier and better. I guess this is where AH will lead, and I like it more defined than just AR games as a whole because the mystery element is baked into the fear of the unknown. For sure there are other stuff that I feel is a bit played on too much like the concept of mimics/doppelgangers preying on people but so far my favorites are with dinosaurs. Untapped potential in horror to do something cool with dinosaurs for sure
And on nostalgia, I feel that it's going to be harder to look to the past fondly, and I don't think it's a bad thing necessarily. Nostalgia 1800s to before was more of longing for a specific place, when we began to further progress at a break neck speed by the Industrial Revolution, things changed so much that nostalgia got an new meaning. Generations became a thing, being a teenager is also something new as a concept. This type of segmentation of your life into "eras" of your own is something really new. People before the Industrial Rev lived pretty much the same as their parents, and they like theirs and so on. There will probably never be another century like the 20th because our progress in culture, technology and art etc moved at a pace fast enough to live thru it all but slow to appreciate it into different eras. As we have our own tech move so fast that a new era happens constantly. All type of media is largely accessible with backlog included, like streaming services that offer you shows from before. That type of in situ art that was made clearly of the decade we are nostalgic for because it brings us back with the way people saw things, how we used to talk, and just the look of it all. Now I see that fading away because people born now are able to experience all eras at once. Just look at teens dressing like those from the early 00s who are a trend from early 90s, which was a rethread of the 70s....
