What a joy to see you perform RATM together. Great interview too - your interviewing is getting better and better, Yoyoka-chan. All the advice Jean-Ken gave you, from his own experience staying and learning in English speaking countries is very important. Clearly, he wanted to encourage you to just learn by doing, being in the situation where you just have to try speaking.. Still, a little study of the grammar for spoken English will help clear up confusion. My cousin, Yoko-chan, from Japan came to England every year for a few years to learn by just speaking, but she also studied for a few weeks each time she came with one teacher who specialized in Teaching English as a Foreign Language,TEFL (or English as a Second Language, ESL, etc). She found the practical "English Grammar in Use" book series by Raymond Murphy most helpful. I also learned to teach English in this way and used Murphy's books too. My students in India also found them really very helpful. And, you might also like to study English with a teacher - this way - in the US to help clear up misunderstanding and speed up your progress. My cousin later came to live, work, marry and settle in England - and now understands spoken English very well, and even speaks with a London accent, with a bit of Cockney swagger too! Anyways, just a thought, Yoyoka-chan. All the best!

YOYOKA, your English is good enough to survive in the U.S. NOW! Jean-Ken Johnny's advice was really good about learning English by watching movies with subtitles. Watch movies you like, and ones you understand the story line in Japanese. That will make it a lot easier. You seem to understand almost everything said to you in English, and your responses back in English almost always make sense. Just jump in and do it (like Jean-Ken said)! We are all very impressed with you, and admire you, for where you are now with your English skills. Most of us only speak one language, and you speak two! We love you YOYOKA!
