- In this video we unbox the XREAL Air 2 Pro & Beam Pro provided by XREAL and put them to the test to see just how good of a spatial video combo they make.
You can purchase a spatial screen protector for iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max here: 3Dfix.company.site

To view 3d photos / videos captured by other devices - just need to ensure that they are SBS format and their file name needs to be recognised by beam pro. Put this towards the end of each file name SV_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.jpg. yyyymmdd is date example 20240814 and hhmmss is time example 120101. So your file could be named as “lume pad photo sv_20240814_120101.jpg.
@@ketley2aug Thanks! I’ll give it a try right away
@@josh_3D I’m eager to know how 3d content from other devices appear in glasses. Waiting for your next video
@@josh_3D just an update regarding this. Got an update to my glasses app today. Which has added a 3d toggle in photos app. So now it allows viewing 3d photos and videos taken from any source without name change required.
@@ketley2aug that’s awesome, I gotta try it out! Hope they support UA-cam soon too
I backed the Kickstarter Rokit lite glasses. The Rokit lite glasses looks like a very similar product, I'm suppose to receive them in September. SO far 3D has been interesting for me to test... I own a LumePad 2 and meta quest 2. And I own a Qoocam 3D camera. AI 3D training videos should be Great? or not smile. In my case Yoga videos. smile. HUM cheers Josh
I watched it and the previous one in 3D. Not sure how the devices’ screens display in-3D, still, but I dig that, too.
Cool, I was just wondering how many people actually watch the 3D section of these videos.
@@josh_3D once I heard you say there was a 3D section, I skipped through to that and then threw it to my 3D tv.
I’m still nervous about the conversion process of the XBP pix to display on the AVP but I’m willing to take that challenge on.
@@josh_3DI watch. But I download the video first to be able to watch in 3d in NebulaOS.
I'm not sure if the Beam pro can help display 3D games on the glasses via moonlight or something, but if you plug glasses into a PC, they should make a fantastic 3D display.
I have the Rokid Max and they work great with 3D games in full or half SbS 3D. These 3D mods are compatible: Geo-11, opengl3dvision, Vk3DVision, SuperDepth3D, Geo3D, and VRto3D. Also several emulators: Citra, Dolphin, RPCS3. Even portable PCs are compatible like Steam Deck or Asus Rog Ally
Oh sounds amazing. I’m going to see if I can get any of those working. Is there anyone on UA-cam who makes good videos focusing on stereo 3D gaming mods like the ones you mentioned?
There's no better way to pass the time during a flight than watching 3D movies with the Air2 (Pro)👍. You don't even need to take the Beam with you if you have a smartphone with a USB video output (like the iPhone 15 Pro range). Slightly off topic: I'm pretty much done with all this glasses-free 3D stuff, sorry to say Josh... Let's face it, the software that comes with these devices is still so bad that they're useless for watching 3D movies in decent quality (which is my only remaining use case after an initial period of playing). Even the impressive Acer SpatialLabs 4K machines, which would have almost no negative screen effects (ghosting), are useless in this respect, until Acer makes the effort to give them a decent movie player that supports more than one language track or subtitles. VR glasses are still too heavy for prolonged movie sessions (with the exception of lightweight devices such as the Air2) and cause eye strain after hours of use (at least for me). For now, I'm still watching 3D movies with a 4K 3D laser projector and active 3D DLP shutter glasses.
@@TomsRCScalers I get it if watching movies is your only use case (the 4K 3D TVs from proma may be an exception because they work with 3D blu ray players). Still really appreciate any time you come by and watch videos here or comment, it does help my channel. And it’ll get there eventually. Maybe not as soon as some of us hoped or thought, but you never know!
Great video. Do you think that I can use that 3d screenprotector with my Samsung Galaxy Note 20?
@@SjaakSchulteis it would have to be made to fit that phone model exactly. But if it were, the 3D would work. There just need to be enough people who want it to happen
Maybe you could use a program like StereoPhoto Maker to do a batch rename on the LumePad files to match the file naming format of the Beam Pro so that the app works with them.
The various brands of AR glasses all have the same "birdbath" right angle prism display, which unfortunately is limited to a ridiculously narrow Field of View of less than 50 degrees. I am used to viewing everything 3D in my Quest 3, which has a FOV ov 110 degrees, so if I watch a movie in the Skybox or Prime Video apps I can have it completely fill my field of view if I like. I am looking forward to the new Immersed Visor AR glasses, which have a FOV of 100 degrees and a resolution of 4K (all your existing glasses are 1080).
Even with a VR Headset the depth of how far the video playing screen wants to be always feels too far away, like I'm sitting far back in a theater when i wanna be in the middle seating. There are ways to bring the screen playing the video closer but most the time that cuts off edges or the sides.
@@SlystralI don’t think I typically have that issue on the Vision Pro.
I can either enter immersive mode, which chops off nothing, or I can bring the window closer or I can go to the window.
I hope somebody makes a spatial screen protector for ipads
@@carlbonara602 I think they will! Maybe around a year from now
I Hope your next video is showing if the screen protector is compatible with other phones or the older iPhone that's the same size as the 15pro max
@@mrapplepie9826 I got one provided to me that works on android, but the battery on that phone is broken. I need to see if I can get it replaced. I don’t have enough iPhones to test what would happen if you put the ProMax film on one of the same size, but I was told it won’t work. It’s gotta be made specifically for each model except for the 13, 13 Pro and 14 which are all the same. 13 pro max and 14 plus are also the same
Great video! Just one question, can the spatial 3D video captured by the Beam Pro be correctly displayed in 3D on the Lume pad 2?
Was thinking I hope you upload a new video soon then I get a pop up 1 second later😅
@@mrapplepie9826 and more coming soon!
Is it better to have the Air 2 Pro with Beam Pro, or Ultra? Does the Ultra also need the Beam Pro? Is the Ultra with Beam Pro make the Ultra basically unnecessary? What makes more sense?
I think the main difference is that the ultra functions more like Apple Vision Pro where you can anchor things in space and they will stay in that exact position and support of hand tracking and things like that if developers make AR apps to support that
