The parity between buy and sell margins is maybe due to the potential losses.
1) If we buy reliance futures, it goes into loss if the price starts decreasing which means out loss is maximum when price turns 0.
2) But when we sell the reliance contract and the price starts opposing i.e. starts to rise. Theoretically, the price rise has no limit. So, the losses can be unlimited and indefinite.
Thus, higher margin for sellers compared to buyers !!
How the margins can be calculated?

For ex: particularly 10% of the future contract
@@naitikmodi-wm1xm no! That's decided by exchange based on factors like volatility, volume, etc. maybe get covered ahead in the NISM. But, there's might be no such fixed formula

Options trading is like Renting a Flat. You pay token money as booking advance to fix a flat today for a pre decided Rent to be paid from the upcoming month you decided to check in . But later u found much cheaper Flats in the upcoming month and you decided to cancel the stay. So it was in your OPTION / Right to check in or not in the booked Flat. But the booking amount was a security deposit to secure your room which is non Refundable. 😁😅
In other case, if the Flat rent increased in that area then as per the agreement the Flat owner is obliged to allow you check in at that rent amount only.
