I wouldn't classify Changli as a sub-dps at all. Yes, she has a support outro, but I see that as more of a sign towards them opening up dual dps composition teams. Changli provides herself 40% fusion damage bonus, plus a 25% atk increase, plus a 15% def shred on her three hardest hits all within her own kit. On top of her weapon being a pure on-field dps weapon.
Yinlin for example is a true sub dps 5 star. Yinlin while having a similar outro skill to Changli, has an ultimate that's doing 50% less damage than Changli's, a skill that's doing 50% less than what Changli's gives you with her skill + the enhanced basics the skill provides, a slower and less aggressive basic attack string, off field heavy attack damage (while Changli provdies 540% from her heavy attack and will do 2 per rotation), and she provides herself with effectively no damage boosts to help her out at all.
I foresee a Changli - Encore - Verina team where Verina puts up her 30 second buffs, Changli blows everything up in 10 seconds, and then encore uses both Verina and Changli's buff's to keep the damage going, as probably the best situation for Changli holding a shared dps role alongside Encore.
You forgot Taoqi has outro skill that buff resonance skill, which is perfect for changli.
Quite a huge oversight... brushing off her possibly best support as 'just shields and no dmg'.
@@zippo718 He also didn't factor Chixia who gets both the fusion and liberation buff of Changli nor Mortefi that does liberation off field damage.
@@dendenmushi9714 is mortefi's dmg that significant tho? I've been using him with jiyan and his personal dmg is less than desirable
@@vinhinh6810 It adds up, especially when youre running him with cloud set. Also his sequences matter greatly. At S0 he is still good but once you get him to s4 he is insane

so Changli is female Calcharo. They both use HA to activate the forte, both have R skill to activate HA forte, they also have dashing slashes attack, have white long hair, one turn into birh one turn into half-demon. Conclusion, Changli is a female chad.
Wouldn’t consider her close to cal and more in resemblance to Yinlin as most of her damage does come from her resonance skill and not liberation. She is an enabler, allowing other fusion resonators to shine on the field brighter when she is off field. Regardless she’s Chad.
@RosesPapa Highly disagree, the only thing that Yinlin and her have in common is their outro skill. Outside of that, everything that Changli does requires her to be onfield for an equal amount of time to most other onfielders, not to mention she doesn't do any off field damage like Yinlin.

6:14 this a misconception when it comes to sub dps like Yin ling and probably same with Changli looking at her kit probably because of the term "sub dps", so can I say we should call the roles as Main Field DPS and Burst DPS instead of sub dps and main dps, since it's more appropriately describes what they actually do gameplay wise.
I feel like "sub" dps is kinda not the right term to call the role that Yin Lin and Changli occupies, since unlike most Sub DPS they actually have more field time that the supposed "main" dps that they're supporting/supplementing and probably does as much the same damage as the "main" DPS, specially Changli since looking at her kit it wants you to stay as her for as long as possible to exhaust all her passive before swapping.

Yep. My YinLin generally outdps my Calcharo outside of Resonance Liberation.
No, sub just means secondary/additional damage besides your main. And usually few subdps deal damage mostly through ”burst”.

yeah i agree , people still trying to apply some genshin's terms to this game even tho some dps characters like "changli" or "yinlin" do a lot more that a EQ swap , and they generally require some field time to execute their combo/ build up their forte and concerto and resonance energy ,, Burst (or Hybrid) DPS fit them a lot better
This is a game made by kuro games where sometimes they create characters whose color schemes do not match their elements or they make characters that should be supporters but are actually stronger than dps. Before crimson weave arrived, the backbone of the lightning team in pgr was vera, who is a tank. And before qu appeared, the dps of the ice team was ayla, who is an amplifier (healer+buffer). Just keep that in mind.

Changli is more like danjin than like yinlin, because yinlin's kit is all designed to be a subdps, outro skill, signature weapon and the fact that she deals damage even if she is not on the field. But changli is more like danjin because the only thing designed for being a subdps is her outro skill, everything else, even her weapon, is designed to be a main dps. So, if you have and really like encore, you can use changli as a subdps and you can use her with future fusion dps, on the other hand, if you really like changli and want to play her as a main dps, you can use sanhua as sub dps
You're gonna want Taoqi, not Sanhua. Her Skill Damage comes out more often than her basic attacks.

@@khushigill8651 I mean, you can use Yinlin with any team cuz she has off-field damage. The only thing you'll be missing out on is the electro damage synergy Dr her Outro.

Chixia is also able to get benefit from both of changli's outro skill. I don't have encore but i want changli, so probably I will use chixia with changli.
Chixia might even be better as her swap dps playstyle relies on her high dmg liberation, while subdps Encore usually doesnt use liberation. Also Encore is doing mostly basic attack and skill damage during her liberation, not liberation dmg.

Yeah I'm likely going Toaqi (sustain/buffer hybrid) ->Changli onfield dps for 12 seconds -> buffed chixia burst dps then restart rotation.

Thank you for the comprehensive guide! Regarding Calcharos DMG in Liberation tho, only Death Messanger counts as Liberation DMG, and his enhanced Basics as Basic Attack DMG.
I was surprised that Chixia wasn't mentioned, since she benefits from both Chanli's ult and pyro damage. Chixia is too underrated
I like your videos; I've been looking forward to the guides on the new characters to figure out which one I'd like to try and pull.
Any plans to add text boxes that might have a short-hand notations for their rotations? Sometimes an additional visual can help sort out what you're saying. You give a lot of good information, but it's hard to absorb it all at once, at least for me. It'd be cool to see something like a Basic Basic Skill Skill or something at the same time you're explaining the combo.

Very informative, thanks. In future videos please add a section where you explicitly compare Signature Weapon with Sequence 1.
She doesn't really look like a burst dps/sub dps to me as she doesn't seem to have a dps window downtime except for the 25% Atk boost from her ultimate.
Another thing to take note of is Resonance Chain 2, since it is phrased as giving a 30 CDmg boost when she have Enflament then she technically can have a 100% uptime since she can gain the stack through performing True Sight Atk, not limited to just Reso Liberation.

Just noticed that the new 5 stars like yinlin (next patch would be changli) is a sub dps with an outro of buffing our 5 stars standard dps characters. First is calcharo with yinlin, now encore with changli. At the same time, our 5 star main dps like Jiyan (next would be Jinhsi) is supported by 4 star character like mortefi (Jinhsi could probably supported with taoqi especially her kit revolves around resonance skill).
Jinshi is cute but I will have to skip her to guarantee Changli

I think you are missing a great team comp: Changli, Mortefi and Taoqi. Rotation: Mortefi -> Taoqi outro -> Changli outro -> repeat.
Changli's outro would heavily boost Mortefi's ult with the fusion dmg bonus and ult dmg bonus. Taoqi would be the sustain with shielding of this team and boosting Changli's dmg with her outro skill giving resonance skill dmg deepen. Pair Taoqi with moonlit set and heron and it will benefit Changli more. Taoqi's weapon would be discord to fill her concerto easier. Mortefi is just being Mortefi dealing insane off field dmg and skipping his outro as it is not really needed in this team
iirc changli's buff does not snapshot with mortefi, so you'd lose out her buff if you switch out from mortefi

Thought as soon as he deploy his liberation that the buff will linger after going back to Changli.
Guess Chixia and him are much closer than I initially thought.
Chixia should be able to use the full buff but Mortefi can do off field damage on top to help Changli.
Mortefi S6 is a bigger buff than Chixia's S6 but Chixia does more damage during Changli's downtime than Mortefi.
Chixia's outro should also be more useful.
Overall Chixia should edge a bit against him at S6 but have a solid gap before it and S4.

It's crazy to hear you talk about rotations and what not. I'm a super casual that mains Yinlin. I only swap to Verina if I need a bit of healing, and I will immediately swap back to Yinlin regardless of whether her Intro is ready because Verina deals no damage and, at least right now, has super slow energy regen so it takes forever to get Yinlin back in. I often forget I have a fully built Encore in my 3rd slot that can deal damage just fine.

at some point into the game, they'll probably make a "healer" that does more dmg than the DPS (example, from PGR, Liv:Flashbang)
If considering you're using 3 teams with verina/bai already being used and no Jianxin, Taoqi could be a good 3rd having a self heal for rejuv set and ofc her great outro when ever you can get it.
As an encore main… i only have one choice for the next banner 😅

I'd say Changli's outro is less designed to make her a 'subdps' and more to buff up the subdps, namely swap-in-burst Encore.
Man, shes better suited as main dps, because of that true sight mechanic and how she reaches an awakened state.
very well made guide . the only thing that I don't agree with is calling her Sub DPS , she is more of HYBRID DPS that can be played as either main dps , or in duel DPS team with Encore (Rover Or Yinlin can work too) . i feel like she will get even better with future DPS's , just like Yinlin
You couldn’t stack both Yinlin and Changli’s buffs due to them both being tied to outro skills and they disappear after you swap you couldn’t swap between all characters and still stack both the buffs. However Jianxins I’m pretty sure works for the whole team meaning you could use that one to stack liberation damage
Changli is gonna age a lot better than Jhinsi because u can always powercreep dmg but changli is ALSO a fusion best buffer so she is probably gonna stay relevant waay longer
Jhinshi is a burst dps but also buffs outro and intro rotations significantly so I don't think it's going to be the case

@Shortstep_ The fighting style in this game is quickswapping for the most part, so she will only get better as better outro and intro skills come out, which is likely to happen. She doesn't have any super synergistic teams rn but I can see great future potential rotations with her.
I really like the quickswap playstyle so I'm thinking about the Yinlin-Encore-Changli team

Gonna be changli main, there is no sub or main dps here, it's mostly a pve game and we get to choose whoever we want as main dps, everything works.

That is partially correct, but a majority, more than 50% of his total multiplier come from 3 Death Messenger and the initial dmg of his Reso Liberation. Both counted as Liberation Damage

I already got the echo for Jin shi ready except for the main one because I’m gonna use the new weekly boss but now I want changl because I found out that scar might gonna be coming out in 1.2 and I pretty sure he’s fusion probably gonna be a dps 😭.
I know what they're going for, but I kinda wish that they would just use conventional names for things. Like, I already gotta remember that "Super-Duper-Excelsior-Resonance" (I ironically don't remember what is called) is their word for Ulti, I don't also want to have to remember that Fusion is actually fire.
Characters they make always supports other. I feel there is no sub dps everybody compliments each other. It’s now depends on the players to mix and match.
I will always roll for a character voiced by Saitou Chiwa.

Im at pity and guaranteed, i main jyian and calcharo, should i go for yilin before she goes away or wait for jinshi or changli? Which seems to be easier to use (mobile player here😅)and th strongest as of now?
Yinlin is very high APM if you want to use her optimally. Half of her kit needs to be swap cancelled to get max DPS, since it reduced her field time from ~10s to 4. And she ideally wants to play with other high APM swap happy chars to capitalize on that. So yeah really not a mobile-friendly character. You can safely skip her

I am wondering whether I should pull pull for Changli and play her as a sub dps to my Jiyan. I mean his R already does insane dmg with Mortefi but I might swap out Verina and try to make a buckload of ult dmg Jiyan. Essentially one shoting bosses.

Idc about these extra elemental outro buffs, gonna run Yinlin / Changli together. Also, Cameylla probally coming in 1.2 and she probally havoc. May be a havoc support, which will be crucial to have if you want a partner for rover.

I don’t think tht the Res Lib dmg would stack since it gets removed when using it in quick swaps. I imagine that the buff just disappears as soon as you swap out so you wouldn’t be able to get it on one character then pass it to another.
