Absolutely beautiful...I can still hear my mother's voice singing it to me when I was a small child. There's nothing like the lilt of an Irish voice singing an Irish ballad.
An old friend of mine from Limerick...Tommy Drennan(and The Monarch's Showband) had a hit with this song in Ireland in 1967....Where are the years gone...
An old man came into my barber shop and as I was cutting his hair, he asked me who owned me, Gingle own's me, said I. I owe you and him a great debt, said he. How so? He taught me the Connemara Lullaby. If I'd no money in a pub in England, I'd sing the Connemara Lullaby and pints would appear at my table.
I am here due to My Uncle Patrick.
Sleep Well on this Windy Night.
Such a Soothing Song
Thank you &
Thank You, Patrick.

My dad used to sing this to me at bedtime when I was a child. Nearly 70 years ago. Still makes my heart warm and tears fall!!
Very unusual voice delightful

I agree. Galway Bay is fabulous. When you look outside to see other countries. Countries, I will never see.

Wonderful, does anyone know if she is still singing? Would like to see her live sometime!
Anyone know if there's an Irish (i.e. Gaelic) version of this?
I would like her to brush her hair.
Beautiful
