I have to pay a local tour operater there who has suggested that I can make payment via card (in Tenge) or in crisp USD notes/cash. In this case, can I swipe my NiyoX Debit card to make payment? Will there be any additional charges? Also can I use the pre-loaded card with INR directly to exchange currency at the airport for the local (Tenge) currency?

To answer your specific questions 1) Cash withdrawal - DCB - withdrawal fees will be waived off if you maintain 5000 rs quarterly avg balance. 2)Both cards are good for transactions in restaurants . I would suggest you to register for grab pay using either of the cards which works like UPI there.

So visa network rate will apply.

if you are planning to do shopping more than a lakh , carry multiple cards like niyo. else go for HDFC multi currency as it has more than a lakh limit
