it was 1969. my older brother came home from college and put " Oh, Well "on my turntable. i've been a Peter Green fan ever since. 66 years old now and I can't get enough of Peter Green. loving all these youtube sounds of the late, great Peter Green. RIP, mr green. thanks for all the great music
Ditto
Cheers 🍻 mate!
I'm 67 and my older brother blew my mind as well! He connected with so much music. The times and his own sensibility I guess. Incredible.
Then Play On was my first taste then to the records before. Then John Mayall!
RIP one of the biggest and most influential names in British Blues ever.
Green is the color of the Blues!!
FLY TO HEAVEN ALBATROSS!!
Damn straight
RIP Peter Green . The world has lost a true blues legend.
Yes one of the best I think it was BB king who said after listening to peter green he gave him the chills up his spine Im Pretty sure it was I could be wrong.
@@nigekent4401 alvin leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee but he was psychedelic rock :D but peter green wasnt blues legend he was a guitar legend for his plays not his songs some of his songs but not over all compared to real blues .......

The sound of heaven.... Better get my shit together I'm headed in the wrong direction.
my wife is watching love island I am listening to this head phones in god bless peter and the original fleetwood mac for my sanctuary this is truly the blues as its best
Great comment lol
Marx was wrong. religion is not the opium of the people. reality tv is.
Haha im doing something simlar.
Vale Peter Green, rest in peace. As BB King said, ""Peter Green has more talent in his little finger than I have in my entire body" and "He was the only one that gave me the cold sweats". No better words to describe his mastery and legacy.
peciacake indeed, there could be no higher tribute than that.
Sounds very similar to B.B.'s Gambler's Blues
The first quote is complete bullshit. B.B. never said that! LoL
@@Yourbankaccount You know that for a fact do you? Tell me how you know. LOL.
@@peciacake I would be very pleased to see the source of that made-up quote
Fifty years on, this still sounds amazing, no digital enhancement needed here, just pure, raw and original talent.
all kinds of music need original talend
I'm older... admire Peter Green's ability to emote feelings. BB King said once feelings are where it's at, it is the challenge for a true blues man to get it right. He was pressed to explain.. to share how he knew when it "was right".. answer: "that's when the ladies sling shot their panties on stage." I am still seeking that accolade LOL
The world of blues have lost a true true master of the blues
Never be another Peter green nor this THE REAL FLEETWOOD MAC
"Peter is a Badass, this is what musicians strive for". I purchased my first Fleetwood Mac LP when I was 15, now 50 years later I still can't get enough. I love all the new live shows being put out lately plus the addition of the live 1967 Live CD's of Peter playing with The Bluesbreakers. All amazing blues. We lost Peter but he left behind his gift as a musician. The best white blues guitar player ever!
"I purchased my first Fleetwood Mac LP when I was 15" Me too! supported them at the "Marquee Club" back then was my favorite band,
This here is nothing less than the Blues Guitar Olymp. More is simply not possible. I rated Peter Green alongside the greatest Blues Guitarists as Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vauhgan, Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Freddie King. It is so sad that Peter destroyed in May 1970 his life and the music lost a veritable genius, visting - during a gig in Germany - the stupid Munic drug community, including Groupie Obermayer and Langhans, where he got his fatal LSD trip....he never really return...RIP Peter, you are a true Blues and Guitar giant. Maybe you met John Mayall now again in the Blues heaven. Thanks for all the emotions you give me until today with your stunning music, especially in difficult moments.
You heard the B.B. King quote right? He said that Peter had the most beautiful tone; and he was the only one that gave him cold sweets (!)
this is the real Fleetwood Mac...
Mick Fleetwood grew up in my hometown as a kid. Hardly anyone appreciates that locally... is sad. So glad my old man Introduced to this music
Yes.
@@barryday487 my dad introduced me to Peter Green as well. I am forever grateful
The only FM as far as I am concerned.
Damn right
Simply the best Guitarist that ever came out of Britain ! Legend ....unique
one of the greatest blues bands of all times
they say he is #3 guitarist of all time but after listening to this I can't think of the other two.
Hendrix, Beck and Prince
Ps green is definitely the best white blues player ❤
A sad day for the world, with the passing of Peter Green. So very grateful to have lived in his time and appreciated this amazing legend of blues... RIP Peter.
Peter Green' s soloing is so unique, soulful and just utilizes the most beautiful space by not playing anything and letting it breathe. The slight overdrive when he digs in is breathtakingly and just an amazing tone that is so responsive to his pick attack.
Im confused is he not using a pedal ? How can he play so subtly clean then go to that agressive overdrive. I realise he was a master of dynamocs bit this is next level...
@@micoveliki8729if you have an amp distorted and roll back the volume control on the guitar you can make it clean
@@harryguitar8506 so you think he is just playimg with the volume knob?
@@micoveliki8729 100% they all did back then
A great guitarist playing great guitar. THE best British blues guitarist-(And I include Clapton. Beck and Page) of all time.
Clapton and Beck are better, but yes he was a great guitarist
@@jbawn 🤣🤣🤣🤣, go back to One Direction, son.
@Dave V you obviously know nothing about guitarists and guitar skills then. Try listening to 'Steppin out' by Cream from the Cream live album and his guitar solos on I shot the Sheriff and Cocaine from the Crossroads 2004 festival and then come back to me
@@shaunm.2738 Such a loser comment from someone that must have an incredibly tiny penis
@Dave V if you hear the rest of that interview. They said to John Mayall 'really, you are saying that Green is better than Clapton? To which Mayall replies' not yet, but he will be'. However, Mayall had already peaked and Clapton got better and better. Listen to the solos on the songs i suggest
Sorely missed, fantastic blues player, pure talent! Peter you are so missed 😢
Flawlessly done.no auto tune no computers.no games just pure raw blues.
Many guitar players play too many notes to try and impress.Greeny plays just a few but when he does they reeeeealy mean something. It dont come much better.
Enjoy the note you're on
Less is more
@@eltorro7774 and enjoy the spaces between them!
"It ain't the notes you play, it's the notes you don't play" - reportedly the philosophy of Albert King. I happen to agree with that philosophy.
amen brother....amen to that
When they talk of "feel", this is what they mean. Brilliant. Rest well Mr. Green.
Spot on.
You don't know what you've got till it's gone. His guitar sound just makes me weep. British music icon. God bless you Peter.
Want one who can get thru Man Of The World without breaking up is tougher than me....
R.I.P. Danny Kirwan
His dynamics in this are amazing, he goes from soft and sweet to screaming and anger before you even realise it!
If you're a bedroom guitarist like me, learn all the licks here, and you're pretty well covered.
Astonishing playing by Greeny.
Thanks for all the blues you gave to the world, Mr. Green
Wow...BB King once said Peter Green's playing gave him chills....Now I get it!
Fleetwood's playing is beautiful ln this. Simple, but something you can really rely on. Wonderful electric blues , authentic guitar playing without compromises. Nothing overplayed, just straight. Intense. That's how it's done, folks.
It was a sore one losing this human being.
Truly unique and his body of work is some of the greatest ever written.
RIP you incredible man.
Bless you Peter Green. 1946-2020.
May Almighty God bless His Soul to Rest in Peace. An irreplaceable Guitarist in the Field of Blues and Rock and Roll. Thanks Sir for the Wonderful Music over the Years. You will Definitely be Remembered Forever through your Music and your Melodious Guitar Licks. R.I.P 😭🙏
I miss him so very much, he was the best. RIP my superb singer, guitarist, writer and his magnetism ♥️♥️♥️ went without saying.
Yes. He was a true Blues man.
....I can see why BB King said Peter Green was the only one who gave him "cold sweats"...
..in fairness though, the big guy did sweat a lot!
LMFAO
I think BB's sweats were from Heroin withdrawal.
100%... Green = both contained aggression and pure beauty combined
Ya Man, BB Said it all there Cousin Figel
There is no better sound of a Les Paul than the one that’s coming out of Mr. Green’s hands.
true
Duane & M. Bloomfield not too shabby either! Art from Phx. Az
Elvin(Pigboy Crabshaw) Bishop playing I think a 335 Gibson during his time w/ Paul Butterfield. Check out Drunk Again on In .my own dream. by Butterfield blues band economy of notes with a lot of feel in. basebottom3
Over here?
Everything sounds better on a Les Paul.
This should have 3 billion views. I guess to each his own. Good stuff!!! imo
Also, this recording, to me, is the Fleetwood Mac equivalent to Jimi Hendrix's Red House, Blues album version. Just astonishing.
No you are wrong, Green was good but no Hendrex, Jimmi Hendrex was in a league of his own, I saw them both inSWF bay area back in the day.
bill gonzales Dude in your opinion ........ RIP Peter we love you 🌺💋🌼🌷💋🌼🌹❤️

Jesus, how great is this?!
I was at a church one evening where the organ master had a set of pipes and did some deep "thrombosis". it was on the second level. I heard him say (he was 75) "Some Christians think that God's music is MUZAK , but I know music and have written and performed and soon I'll know first hand. But it is just another Devil's lie to make people he (the devil) invented the pleasures when it was the CreATOR who invented pleasure and I say He likes it real LOUD
Duff? How splendidly appropriate!
i CAME UP WITH "THROMBOSIS"??
andy this is why innocent folks go to jail, because in court I would have denied I wrote that phrase. Sometimes I feel as if Dementia "light" is close, and other times I feel the opposite. Thx for the heads up...
man he loves that BITING guitar- sharp and nasty- It is the set-up one needs to hear before going car shopping. BUT, BUT,
Not as great as your face... You look great
Don't forget Danny Kirwan.
Peter Green completely hooked me years ago when I came across this FM. Just so pure and passionate, he couldn't not be successful. Cared too much
Peter Green ,,,,,,,,,,, no more to be said
His guitar tone makes me crazy! Man with deep bluesy feeling. His voice is mih more beer, tobaco and woman's breest!
Woman's breest goes good with this!! lol
Peter Green.. one amazing guitarist and songwriter.. and not too bad as a vocalist :)
Awesome Pure Talent !
When music was Real ✌️
Just found this. Literally can listen to PG all day long. Criminal how he hasn't been given the accolade he deserves. Then there's Danny Kirwan who sadly died. Unreal
Glad somebody mentioned Kirwan. Had a tough life. RIP.
blues went from the delta... cotten fields..chicago...etc...ended up in the UK ...the these amazing people brought it back to us...folks from my generation ...gave it life...the rest is history...
Great sensitive, gentle tuneful, blues, like the guitar is talking..

18 years and 1 day before I was born this was happening, and it still lives on now, hopefully it always will. :-)
Peter Green was an AWESOME guitarist.
He still is. He's not dead.

I saw Green play a few years ago at a festival, his band were almost like his helpers, kind of prompting him on what they were playing next etc, but when he got into a solo, it was still beautiful. A bit more rough around the edges than it used to be, but still beautiful.
A lot of people my disagree with me but Peter Green was the world's best blues guitarist ever. He only has one equal, in my opinion, in another genre of music and that is Hank B Marvin. RIP Peter.
Dank Peter, voor je prachtige en smaakvolle gitaarspel!!! RIP
Peter Green, thanks for leaning the way for so many...RIP
Easily the best version I have heard of this song. Thanks for everything the great, the greatest Peter Green
The ONLY Fleetwood Mac I acknowledge.
the guitar tone is amazing
Tone and feel to die for! Dreamy.
RIP Danny and Peter. Thanks for the very best....!
I wish I was alive back then. I'd give anything to see him perform live with Fleetwood Mac!
It was a 3 way, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan. Who played which part? Amazing interplay
Sod. Sorry but no delete comment
It was good.I used to watch him on the club circuit in London, just feet away from him. These days they would be playing 100 years away in stadium rock mode.
Peter is not dead his body expired he's free flying around galaxies singing the blues and Danny was there to greet him they are doing things we cant even imagine so stop this sadness and RIP Perter BS we are eternal. You have it backwards this world is wicked , inverted, he's done here schools out completely (yep ALICE) he is now in mind blowing UNIVERSE NOT METAVERSE free to fly to places we cant even imagine and he has the answers to all the questions we all want to know . Why sadness? The suffering is here .
Star flared across the oceans
Reflecting the deep sympathy of blue
In the twinkling of an eye

Such beautiful words to some up the brief passing of angels through this ephemeral existence.
beautiful playing by Peter..inimitable
THE Les Paul and a 100W Orange stack. That sound will never be bettered.

Wow, Peters blues soloing was so casual and brilliant. I bet there are some great jam sessions in heaven with, Gary Moore, BB King and Hendrix. Rip Greenie.👍👍
Green and kirwan epic
Had the pleasure of seeing Greenie several times (Bluesbreakers and Fleetwood Mac) in '67/'68 - mostly at the Manor House, Finsbury Park in North London and can safely say that I have never seen anyone I liked better - that includes Hendrix at the same venue

Rest in Peace, good sir! You mesmerized an adoring public through thick and thin! You will be greatly missed! Love you always!
Don’t remember a damn thing, bit I know I was at this show. I was too young to appreciate it at the time
Hey, those of us lucky enough to be where rock is happening often do not remember much
I went to a Bruce Springsteen concert and don't remember much of it.
I remember that after I had too many hits off of the pint of Jagger I stuck in I fell off the chair I was standing on. There I was on the ground looking up at the guy I had fallen back on getting ready to kick my ass. He was covered in beer and pissed, and I were dude he would have done it. Once he realized he was going to beat on a stupid drunk chick he changed his mind. The rest of the show remains a blur.
this is the Fleetwood mac,At its finest,God I love This lp,poppa.
Gutted. R.I.P. Peter Green ..so awesome .. Up there now, with BB and all of the lost legends.
I grew up with this music and I always get excited when I hear this master ..
Just amazing. RIP Peter.
Peter Green exhibits a direct connection between his heart, head his fingers and a Higher Power. Peter hand picked the members of Fleetwood Mac because of their commitment to the blues. Peter's song writing helped vault him into a group of blues players that display the pain they feel. Peter was a spiritual being and his work playing the blues displayed this pain. Peter spoke with his guitar and expressed his pain through his music. This featured song is a fine example of Peter expressing his pain through his music. The Green God will be missed but his music lives on.
RIP Mr Green. Teach those angels to sing the blues!
I will never get tired of Peter's playing. So much to listen to, love and learn. Thank you Peter.
