  • Here it is. The moment that... probably some have been waiting for. I've not only been building up to this, but I also made an entirely new game file specifically for it.
So it turns out that not only did Margit live... both times we killed him, but we never actually truly fought him at all. Nor is his name Margit.
Morgott is the son of Queen Marika and Godfrey, the first Elden Lord. This makes him a direct brother to Godwyn as well. He has the power to project himself via minions throughout the Lands Between, so both times that we fought Margit were just really fancy holograms.
When I first fought him, I was not only rushing through to get to the Mountaintop of the Giants, but I also wound up having almost none of it recorded, including this fight. That was a huge injustice to this character, which prompted me to play the game again just so I could make sure to record it and fit it into the story of my playthrough.
While I'm not the hugest fan of the fight itself, I've come to respect Morgott's character a lot. I heard that he's like the Stannis of Elden Ring, and I can kinda see that. Morgott more than any of the other demigods deserves a seat on the Elden Throne, but his status as an Omen forever keeps him cast out of the Erdtree's grace. Yet still Morgott continues to defend it, as the only devout servant of the Golden Order among his entire remaining family.
I wish there was more time to properly lay him to rest, but already it's time for a new adventure. Because this wasn't the end of the game.
The second half has only just begun.
