Guys, as many know, the reveal is live and is subtitled live and I don't have a way of downloading the stamped subs so I'm subtitling the old fashioned way by adding the timestamps and everything myself. Plus, the episode being a good 70 minutes and me having a life later this sunday, I'm not sure if it'll be up today. Maybe tomorrow afternoon/evening. I know it's the reveal and you all wanna know who the mole is :P but bare with me, I'm working as fast as I can...
Thanks for posting! This season has been really spectacular. Whoever the Mole is, they were able to fool everyone right up to the finale. I still have to go with Thomas as my number one Mole pick, but really they all have been suspicious and could all possibly be the Mole still. This season has really combined the best factors of the Mole: compelling players, well-themed location, and extremely complex Mole mystery that kept everyone debating in the comments.
This is a seriously amazing final episode! I can't wait for the finale - whoever the mole is had me fooled for a long time but my list is: winner: Sanne loser: Jochem mole: Thomas
Spoilers . . . . . . . . . Thomas definitely is the mole! - He didn't really help much on challenge 1 - On challenge 2 he said that "if there's any assignment to win, it's this one" "I had to win this challenge". This is pretty much the only challenge the mole has to complete because the mole can't win, so if he completed the challenge the pot won't be doubled. He's really enthusiastic on this challenge! - When Sanne said "you're molling" to Thomas, he did "that face" which I guess I would also do if I were in his position as the mole (It's kinda hard to explain, but I hope you know what I meant lol). - When Art told Thomas that "we need to double the pot" Thomas already said "noooo" even before Art told him to make another larger square implying that he already knew that he needed to make a second square and he's faking a reaction (The mole already knew all challenges beforehand). In the end, looks like Sanne will be the winner (with the pot doubled, yay!), Jochem will be the loser, and Thomas is the mole.
Thanks for bringing another wonderful season to us Marieke! I really enjoyed the fanaticism of the contestants this season. . . . . . . . . It's no surprise Diederik was the last one to leave... To me him being executed was the reason why they delayed his execution to this episode and didn't show it in the previous one. Thomas is my Mole. I don't think I've ever been more sure who the Mole is... Which is why I hope it's Jochem or Sanne is the Mole, just so I can be surprised. Moltown was a very cute challenge, I would have loved to play that challenge! Those kinds of puzzles are right up my alley. The last challenge was okay, it reminded me of the exemption challenge in the penultimate episode of season 10, except it was located outside.
These uploads are really quick . . . . . I first thought it was Jochem until Diederik was eliminated it completely changed the perspective of the game. The discussion that Sanne and Jochem had in Ep. 8, made total sense. By following the suspects of the candidates you can easily see that it's ... Thomas! Especially with this episode where Thomas did not do much in Moltown, and was obviously sabotaging Sanne in the final challenge, and was DESPERATE to win that final challenge so that it would fail to double the money in the pot ( as he could be the mole). At last being disappointed that Sanne won the challenge.
Thanks!!! :) Really great season! The best since 2013. I wasn't a fan of 2015 and 2016. My fav three made it to the final :) Thomas was one of my main suspects from the beginning so I really hope it's him. I haven't suspected Sanne at all. She earned a lot of money and Jochem...hmmmmm I think that he tried very hard to look suspicious. However if it's him then yeah - good job. Quite funny that in the final they are voting for different people ;)
Alvaro Castro Sebastián No, it's happened before in some past seasons. I don't remember a season though in any country in which all three finalists seem to be switching their Mole in the final episode.
Thanks again Marieke. * SPOILERS: * The Mole is either Thomas or Jochem. I'm still not sure which. A lot of the challenges really haven't offered much of an opportunity to see who it is, which has been really frustrating for me. If it's Thomas, there've been at least two episodes where he basically had no chance to do a mole action. In Episode 1, he wasn't involved in a single challenge involving money. If it were Thomas, I would feel kinda cheated on that basis, so I'm hoping that Jochem is a sociable Mole with a strong player-like persona. If it's Sanne, I would at least feel fooled, but I think she's earned enough money unnecessarily that it isn't her. * Since Imma went, Thomas has been my top suspect, but not by much. I can't see the Mole messing up the forest task as much as Jochem did, so it's still Thomas for me, but it's marginal and it would be an unsatisfying end to the series if it were him. Incidentally, the high point of this episode - after the forest challenge was over, Jochem still placing ropes around trees. Ok, I'll give the editors that one, it was pretty hilarious.
Sorry from me that it's too hard and frustrating for you that you can't find the Mole easily, but it wouldn't be fun if it would be obvious who the Mole would be, right? You should thank the producers for that, instead of just blaming them for their 'mistakes'. All the challenges fitted the environment, and imo none of the challenges were really bad (except for the first episode, that was pretty bad tbh, but every other episode was great! >:( ). Like you wouldn't have made better challenges than them... :/ so then stop complaining but praise them for the things they did really awesome, and most of it was. They won't listen to your advice probably, so yea, just give your thoughts on who the Mole could be and leave all the things that only producers should care and think about behind in your next comments, this doesn't make a lot of sense...
Well I don't think I'm being unreasonable... but I can be too negative (have tried not to be). And you're right, they shouldn't listen to some random guy on the Internet. How about they listen to the producers of the excellent Belgian seasons instead? Everybody, myself included, seems to agree that the Belgian show is really, really good.
Yea, and how many seasons have been held in Belgium? It took a 13 year break only to revive in 2016 (if I'm correct). The Dutch TV series is by a mile the longest running version of the show, there's gotta be a reason for that. If lots of people didn't like the show or anything surrounding the show, then it wouldn't be around anymore, but that isn't the case. There's a reason that only the Dutch series has lasted for so long, so stop complaining.
It still makes money after 16 years, so it has to be good" isn't an argument, as any fan of the Friday 13th or Hellraiser series of films will tell you. Look, there's been a lot of good in this season, which is why the bits that aren't good are so frustrating for me. Why this should offend you enough that you make TWO posts complaining about me complaining, I have no idea, but it probably has more to do with you than with me. * If you liked it better than me, great, I'm happy for you. I don't resent people whose opinions don't match my own. And normally I'm fine debating these things, but honestly, it's been two weeks and a reasoned debate doesn't seem to be what you're after here. Just don't respond to a (two-week-old) comment by telling the person who posted it that they should shut up. That's obnoxious.
It still annoys me that it didn't seem to occur to any of them that the one place in Moltown everyone has to visit out of NECESSITY is the well, not the Saloon. That's not what necessity means.
Thank you for the upload and the subtitles Marieke! ****************SPOILERS**************** After this episode, I still think that Thomas is (unfortunately) the most likely to be the mole. And I still can't believe how clueless Jochem is! One thing that makes no sense to me is Thomas switching his "suspect" from Sanne to Jochem. If Thomas was really a candidate, and he really thought that Sanne was the mole, then he should have expected either himself or Diederik to go home after Jochem won the exemption. There would have been no reason for him to think that he was voting for the wrong person just because Diederik went home. In fact, Diederik leaving should have made him even more confident in his ability to win. I feel like the producers probably told him to make the switch because Jochem was switching as well, and it would make the finale more suspenseful. I should have suspected Thomas more from the beginning. I remember at one point, very early in the season, I saw that Thomas had the most votes on the WIDM website, and I asked myself what I was missing, because I just didn't see it. But looking back, there have been several hints pointing to him, including some of the episode titles. And other little things, like last week after they epically failed the alphabet challenge, and Art made the joke that maybe they were doing the Flemish alphabet instead of the Dutch one. And Thomas is from Belgium. I was just SO sure that Sanne was the mole for the first 4 episodes. Part of me still hopes that it will be her, just so I could say that I picked her from the very beginning. But that is looking extremely unlikely now. And...Jochem. Jochem was either going to be the boldest, most brilliant mole in recent memory or the contestant with the most dumb luck ever. And now I really think it is the latter, lol. Can't wait to see how everything plays out next week! I actually took a couple of days off work and I am going to binge watch the entire season over again before I watch the last episode :)
I think you hit the nail on the head, it makes no sense for a player to go all in on one mole for a few episodes, and then when there is (in his head if he's a player) only a chance that two players going for the same mole going home, he uses that as evidence to switch moles. Really sketchy logic if he's a player, and makes sense if it's that producers told him to switch for theatrics.
(Nee denk ik ook niet Kim, is prima zo! Thanks anyway ;)) I'm also pretty convinced it's Thomas. The subtle hints towards him, the lesser subtle hints towards him (Flemish roots, his portrait) The things he's done wrong and lost money yet they're not soooo obvious like Jochem copying Art. Sanne had too many moments where she could have messed up and didn't. She had a few moments where you just wouldn't act in that way as the mole unless you really want to win. If it's Jochem it's a terrible, terrible season!! He was sooo obvious in the beginning. I could name sooo many things I saw in him being a candidate trying to look like a mole. And the editing was spot on to make him look very suspicious. I'm still afraid there will be one season they're going to do it but hopefully they won't.
Well, Vincent voted for Thomas and Sanne in the first episode and got eliminated. But you're right, Jochem has been pretty obvious. I just don't see how it could be anyone else.
**SPOILER** . . . . . . . No Sanne, you lost in the last episode :( . I'm so sure it's Jochem, after a lot of seasons where I can find the right mole, so I think her decision cost that 24k pot: it's strange because in the last episode she and Thomas changed completely tactic, so we'll se who's got the right thing. I was hoping in Sanne to win WIDM, but I also want to have picked the right mole (Jochem)... what can I hope now? :D
Spoilers: . . . . . . Two of my moles from the start are still here: Sanne & Jochem. However, at this moment, I really really want Thomas to be the mole because I want Sanne to win. About Thomas, for some first episodes, he was not out of my radar because he had some mole moments but then he seemed to be invisible to the back ground and at that moment, I decided to go full on Sanne & Jochem. Well, I think I'm wrong about the mole once more time. Anyway, if Sanne is not the winner, is this the smallest pot they every win?
He did spread a part his answers over the options for Jochem in the end and I'm guessing he had more Jochem answers than Thomas had or simply took longer.
Guys, as many know, the reveal is live and is subtitled live and I don't have a way of downloading the stamped subs so I'm subtitling the old fashioned way by adding the timestamps and everything myself. Do you think you would be able to put it online tonight? :)
Diederik was my favorite person. He was funny, he was nice. He was just a person that everyone has to like.
He is the favourite uncle.

Thank you for your hard work Marieke!
I really, really loved this season! Great candidates, great challenges and a gorgeous filming location!
I'm surprised, I don't think there's been a season where everyone vote differently at the end :o

The title too, which is 'het einde in zicht', literally 'the end in sight'. The end in sight is a T.
The mole also tweeted "Eén na laatste" which iirc means "one before the last". Well, the letter before the last is also a T :)
Thank you for the hard work!

Thanks again Marieke.
