I love the photography aspect of your videos, but I would watch your whole day if it was filmed like 3:00 onwards. You looking at the fruit you ate made the whole experience feel so…sensory. Not going to lie, my first thought after watching that sequence was “this guy has done some psychedelics” haha. The only other time I’ve experienced the attention to detail/love of nature/feeling of just *being* and experiencing life I felt watching that clip was when I did low doses of mushrooms Anyway, I love the photography you do. That second shot is just *chef’s kiss*. Truly a work of art from a talented artist. Cheers!
Thank you. Ha, I never ever done any drugs. Not even once. Partly also because my friends were recreational junkies and it's not for me. Unfortunately most of them are dead already. My book and exhibition is coming in 24 days! Topshit happens
Fantastic work as always, I hope you will show us the plates. The one with the clouds and the distant mountains is superb! Love the reference you gave to Shane’s work. Bravo!
All is good. I had the last glass plate and I thought I could do it, but the shadow moved and a ray of light was falling straight in the lens. And these lenses are old and uncoated. All good, all part of the process. Thank you, John!
I liked your reference to Shane Balkowitsch's image, which I knew. Which was based on a painting I didn't know -thanks for that. And then your image still turned out hauntingly different. Top job :-) Best part of the video was your dog of course, just minding his dog business, lol.
Thanks. Yes, this project is inspired by other artists and its good to make a reference to them although my image is very different. I think the feeling is still somewhat similar, but the aesthetic elements are very different. Thx
Borut Peterlin Your interpretation of Christina’s World is far more evocative than Shane’s photograph, in my opinion. I love the somewhat sinister vibe of it!
another great video. I always watch these on a big screen to enjoy them even more. Had to lough bad when your dog came to you during the shoot :) See - plush fog replacements have their advantages ;)
Oh, I haven't told the anecdote when two ladies came by and I was lying on the ground naked. Luckily everyone knows me and they know I'm "special" in the best possible way.
Borut Peterlin this would have been great on video - i just saw you looking out when you got naked and you thought, that you may have had some funny experience before :) I got a commend on my video, that I should have gone naked to make it’s real tribute to Borut. Sadly UA-cam is bidding that one
Awesome stuff (and visible clouds on wet plate collodion, nice!). Just gained a new subscriber. Did you build the silver nitrate tank yourself or is that something you can actually find for sale? Don't think I've ever seen one that big. Looking forward for some more ultra large format wet plates :D
I am earning millions with these plates and videos and saving even more, by not hiring an assistant. I didn't forgot it, I was just hungry for caviar and I didn't bother to pick it up.
Thank you for your kind words. Sure, but these will be big carbon prints, only 12 from each negative. Meaning it's going to be expensive. But the idea is to sell them, absolutely, that's my day job and side job and night job and guess what? I love it!!!
i could feel the frustration of the last plate.. i know the feeling when cup is full. what was wrong with that btw? and the mattress, you are becoming soft ;) ;)
I'm not getting soft, Winch, my dog complained and wanted a mattress. The last plate was literally the last plate. The shadows moved and the sunlight was falling directly into the lens. You may see the half circle at the bottom of the plate.
I like that you, not only once, have had that 'help' but still hold on letting him do .... also that little things are seen by the audience ;-) cheers axel (& keep on rolling ;-)
Your whole practice is a beautiful performance art and it is and has been a privilege to watch.
Thank you. That was my intention
What a commitment !
Thank you very much...
thank you Borut for including my work in this video, I was inspired and then you were inspired, it is very important, this connection.
We are here for a brief moment and then we're gone. I'm grateful for our friendship, bro!
Good to listen to the both of you on the lfp podcast recently.
Your films are so refreshing to watch. Such a beautiful way of storytelling, I feel so free watching them.
I'm glad to hear that. That's how they were made, that's why I am working on my own.
Very cool!

Excellent.... The WORK of a wet plate artist.
The shot when your dog walked in was fantastic , you are a real inspiration . I really enjoy the slow pace of your videos
Very cool
opening scenes were breathtaking! beautiful place with all the clouds and sky.
Hats off to you Borut for making this unique and very personal work the hard way. I have enough to think about with just my 4x5!
Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. Just do what you do and enjoy it.
Fantastic work as always, I hope you will show us the plates. The one with the clouds and the distant mountains is superb! Love the reference you gave to Shane’s work. Bravo!
Pensare, vedere, vivere e fotografare in grande: grandissimo
Borut Peterlin! Complimenti!
Grazie mille!
OMG what a great picture 9:19! Amazing 😉 best regards André
It took me much more work and time to make it, but it came out really good. I love it too!
Awesome work as usual! Incredible location. I especially loved the shot where you could clearly see the clouds. Best regards from NC, USA
Thank you!
Wow
Oh my goodness, collodion clouds - they do exist!! And Winch trying to 'photo bomb' - I'm glad that worked out ok :)
Ha, ha,... Yes, pretty amazing. Which is the queen.
Another wonderful session of enjoyment and a bit of disappointment (X).Hey, it's a joy to watch you work in your studio!! Great!

I love everything in this video (montage is beautiful!)
Thanks a lot for this vid!

Nice job !
cant wait to see the prints!
Great work! Can I ask what is the device (seen around 13.09) you are using to trigger the shot?

I've just finished with editing a new vlog. THank you. The tank was made by an 80 year old carpenter, neighbour.
Oh shit, you have forgotten to pick up your docu camera! Amazing project docu as always!

@@BorutPeterlinPhotography :-)
Great work!
What lens are you using for the ultra large format?
Thx. It's Dallmeyer 500mm f/6.8
What camera was used for the video ?
Nikon D850

The first photo is great, but the second is fantastic. Will it be possible to buy a print sometime?

For a minute, I thought you were going to be making some Slivovice...
Ha, ha, ha, good one. No, I don't drink alcohol.
My wife says she would prefer 'knedle sa sljiva', anyway. :)
Meni je tole slišat in videt kot series 3 in Kočevski rog.
Da, letnik 1972!
! -)
Top shit hapening ;)
'assistants' dont always help as much as they think they do, do they .......(re doggy)

Next time tie the dog to a tree.
