Forgive the question, but what specific class is this engine? And is their a name for their particular type or rode-wheels? I've become recently fascinated with these engines, but lack their class name
0:40 487: D&RGW 487 to musician, I need a G major chord, please. Over. 0:54 487: This is D&RGW 487 to musician, please serenade my departure from Chama with your famous rendition of the classic Sunday School song, This Little Light of Mine. 487 out.
Great footage. I'd give my left leg to get there and take a trip up and down a few lines out of Chama and Durango and thereabouts. I'm envious of anyone who's been there in person. Love the country too. Not all that much different from where I'm living but about 12,000 miles distant.
Tom Tee I had the pleasure of visiting this railway and The Silverton from New Zealand in 2011. I very much hope you get the opportunity to get there someday.
The whistle on 487 is beautiful especially since it whines and is super high pitched that just makes it unique
Coaster World ....and that fact is why I ❤️ the 487. Because of her whistle! And the fact that she has an extra detail, the snow plow.
Wonderful photography. This trip has got to be on my bucket list. I never get tired of watching your video.
Greatly appreciated.
Fantastic shots of 487. Really enjoyed watching her. 👍👍👍👍❤️
Outstanding video. Excellent shooting, great camera angles and good locations! Nicely done!
Thank you. Greatly appreciated. We had fun filming. Heading back again in September to add to the film in a sort of directors cut.
I hope to be out there in September as well for the 315 freight shoot. Does anyone know of a date yet? Its being run by Friends of CATS.
We will be there through the second half of September. Say hello if you see us.

I love how strong and powerful that sounds
I film 487 after 463. I ride on 487 and film it from osier to chama and I am going to film the other D&RGW locomotives too.
Outstanding works, gents. Congratulations.
+Jason Rose Thanks, Jason. Coming from your good self we take this as a fine compliment. Thank you.
poor 487. No longer a coal burner. A piece of history gone forever.
HAHA 😂😂😂 2:35 Love that echo!
There are spots on the line where the echo are amazing, and of course the engineers know this and make the most of it
Outstanding!!!!!!!
Thank you. Greatly appreciated.
Is this just a high pitched D&RG 5 Chime that shes wearing

I love that you mute the whistle somewhat.
Rode this train end of May 2017, this very locomotive. Wanting to do so badly already
Thanks for the comment. I understand what you are saying. I visit every September for a couple of weeks and this year I'm also visiting in June.
I envy you. I am stuck in the shithole that is nyc. Looking to escape before I have to a la Snake Pleskin.
I hear you. I live in London which has it moments too.
Why so much steam constantly from the steam dome? Too much steam pressure perhaps?
It's the safety valve going off the relieve boiler pressure
