  • Epcot's Candlelight Processional from 1999 with narrator Phylicia Rashad. My choir from Stockbridge High School, as well as many others, performed alongside an amazing orchestra conducted by Derric Johnson and John V. Sinclair.

I think this is the only candlelight songs I still remember perfectly

This is the one song I had to lipsync the second half. Our chorus just ran out of time to rehearse with it being at the end of the main program. I still remember almost all of the other songs, though.

I remember wishing we had spent more time rehearsing this song in class before going on the trip. I think I lip synced the second half of the piece, lol

buckskinstallion77 I honestly lip synced to half the songs bc I either didn’t know the words or the notes were too high and my cold wouldn’t allow it 😂

All our Choral director did was run this song over and over for Candlelight. Our choral director then pulled 2 singers from each section to perform it at our Christmas concert......it was soooooo hard but I loved it.

I had to sing this 3 times in one day. I never felt the same way afterwards this song has changed my life. I even want a Mass on my birthday and would like this song used as the recessional. I have to go back to an alumni concert this coming December and sing it again. Then its at our State Building and singing it again.

I still know this song to this day. I sang bass. I didn’t mess up. Even though I didn’t go to candlelight, my choir from Riverview High in Riverview, Florida always went to candlelight every December.

_Messiah_ was probably the first major choral work I ever sang in college, and it has stuck with me since then. When I saw the Processional last year at Epcot, I sang the bass part along with the choir.

In high school, I took great pride in being able to be one of the only tenors to lead and memorize those parts. Mostly because it required so much work and power since it’s quite exhausting to be standing up there not being able to move much holding the candle light between our hands and my voice being hoarse from so much singing.

By the time this song was wrapping up during the second performance of the night I was starting to get delirious and forget the words 😂

LOL I hear that. I think by the time I got to the ending, my feet felt like they were on fire. This was most likely due to all the walking around Epcot we did all day earlier, then standing in one spot for over an hour. I just wanted to be done so I could sit on the bus

from nerves or from having to stand so long after walking around Epcot all day? I was ready to collapse after my performance simply because I was exhausted and my feet probably hurt the worst they ever have that night.

I actually fainted after I did this song during my first show and afterwards they said I shouldn’t do the second and last show that night but I managed to after recovering a bit and got on when my mom and sister weren’t at the other show. Did the second show just fine without fainting. Btw I’m soprano 2

nah cuz when my school was doing candlelight this girl next to me (from out of state) kept saying she felt like she was gonna pass out so i told her to get someone’s attention or stop singing/breathe to calm down but when we got to this song she passed out and had a seizure but i couldn’t do anything so i literally had to stand there singing hallelujah chorus while they carried her offstage .... traumatizing to say the least
