Hey ! Great Videos ! but I have a question about the way you duplicate the vocals and make seperate tracks... then combine them together doesnt it mix-mash them all ..? and why not apply the plugins on a single vocal track ? Thank you.
@tanmaygoel6513 Thank you! :) Actually, it does not introduce any issues at all, as long as you are working without latency. Putting them on a single track would force you to work in a serial way, one feeding into another. But of course, everyone works in different ways…and this just happens to suit me :) And yes, you could definitely put them all in a row too, and just add a tiny bit on each. One benefit of doing it in a parallel way, is that it gives you more flexibility and options. You can do more creative blending and have more control. You could, for example process each separate track in different ways. I sometimes remove the breathes on one of them or reduce the S:es on another, or I combine one of the EQ with a bit of another effect, and then into the final blend. I hope you are doing great!🎛
Thank you for watching and good question :) As long as your plugins are not causing any latency, there are no issues. It is pretty much the same as parallel compression, but using EQ. Try it out and see how it works for you :) Have a great day!
It will introduce phase shift, but that’s what EQ is, phase shift. The different ways different EQs mess with the phase is part of what gives each EQ its character. If it sounds good it is good.
Haha thank you, this made my day:) I am actually turning 42 this year...so, thanks for the compliment. And yes, I have been working in the industry since 2007, mostly in the UK, in front of a beautiful API console. Hope you are well!
Great content
Really interesting stuff!

I'm a bit confounded about the parallel eq part, wouldn't that introduce a lot of comb-filtering?

@@thomas_juth Cool, thanks for the quick response and have a good evening!

Hi and thanks for watching :) However, I am not sure that I understand your question. T
You are a mentor? Are you old enough to be a mentor/? Do you ever use hardware or are you just a plug in guy like every 15 Yr old?
Haha thank you, this made my day:) I am actually turning 42 this year...so, thanks for the compliment.
