lol Thank GOD that you threw that horrific thing away. I was suspicious when you kept saying "Petstores knows what they're doing.." and I'm like "Do they..? Really..?"
@@leaf2309 He mentioned it really quickly in the video but did say he's returning it. I think he just bought it to make the joke in the video - he's not actually throwing it away.
You gave me six heart attacks! I was like 'BABE YOURE SMARTER THAN THIS, WHY' you really got us for a second! My lady uses the entire room but she's been inside since I got her at a few months, she litter trained in seconds, haha.
Omg I was dying when you said pet stores know what they are doing. I had a bunny for 11 years and I was about to send you pictures after crying since I watch your videos all the time. Thank God!
Please dont throw the catnip away or other excess food and toys. Animal shelters will gladly accept those as a donation and it's better than just throwing it away. I love your channel keep up the great work. Also you almost got me with that pet store cage joke
@@katiemcloughlink790 wow such a waste. Can't the cats be given a little treat here and there with treats or catnip. Or can even give it to someone who adopts a cat from them instead of throwing it away. I try not to waste anything when I have something I don't like or my pets don't like I donate it to friends or ppl in need. I try not to throw things away. Thanks for the reply I didn't know before that things like that go to waste.
@@nathandanials7dog treats are A!WAYS used because they use it for training etc but cat treats are used more sparingly but we will accept it but catnip is kind of a hassle and some cats get kind of addictided to it and u cant give cats to much kf it so they would have to be cafeful and keep track etc
You may want to consider covering the wall that the rabbit's pin is facing. Rabbits are very messy and considering it's a male, you wouldn't want it to splatter pee on the wall. Scuffing from the cage bumping against the wall can also happen. I used a large clear trash bag cut opened and pinned to the wall, but you could use the same thing you use for your piggies. Good luck on your new adventure in rabbit caring!
I LOVE THE SNARK ABOUT PET STORES!!!!! YEEEESSSSS!!!!!! I get so angry about companies that sell products for animals that are absolutely inappropriate for them!!!!!
Before I did my research about guineas. Lady recommended a $150 cage j like this one and I couldn't return it when I found out how bad it was🥲 fck petstores man
I feel you. They know better. 😔I saw a mineral salt chew marketed for guinea piggy's a few weeks ago when all the local pet stores had closed for the night. I was so disappointed.😢
Letting go of someone you love it really hard, and I have mad respect for the precious owner. She knew she couldn't give what her bunny needed, and she made the very hard choice of letting him go so he can have a better life. I wish her and her family the best, and I look forward to watching more about this little fella.
Literally all of us RUNNING to the comments, being like WTF IS GOING ON! You got me for sure 🤦♀️😂☺️ so excited for you and your new furry family member!
I feel so bad for him, he must have enlarged stomach from not being able to move, wonder how long he has struggled with difficulties with pooping. Hopefully he will feel better soon. This video shows how even fairly well meaning people can neglect and make their pets suffer if you're not open to educate yourself of the needs of your pet or care more about having clean floors rather than the needs of your pet. I'm thinking too how cold he must have been during the winters. I'm so happy that the young woman decided to care about what is best for the rabbit and not leave him with her parents and that she found such a good home for him.
Just a couple of suggestions, instead of using wood shavings, I used Yesterday's News cat litter. It's from recycled paper. A lot of bun keepers agree that their urine is caustic enough to release the wood oils and those can be harmful to their lungs and skin. Also, my buns used to absolutely LOVE the plastic keys for babies. I used to laugh hysterically watching my buns tossing them around and chasing them around. Those stacking cups are a great choice!! I hope you and your new bun make so many wonderful memories!!! Binkies incoming!!!!
I don't know if you'll see this, I just had a rabbit question! I've never had buns (just do a lot of lurking 😅). Do you think it's possible that he started getting dirtier after she left home because he was depressed? Since she was the one who used to take him out all the time? Not simply because the care was poorer? (She did say the parents cleaned the cage every morning?)
I bought that same cage and returned it!!! My rabbit free roams in my living room and dining room. He is litter trained. I trained him in less then a week. I rescued him from a family that was moving and sadly, set him free in the yard!!! Before that, he was kept in an outside hutch! The one thing I had to do was cover my cords or re-route them. Other then that the only other issues is the mess from the hey and the poops that fall off him as he jumps out of his litter box. Which is easy clean up! My Bailey has been an amazing addition to our family and we have been blessed to have found him! Best of luck with your new Bunny! 🐇
My sister got her rabbit when she turned 6, but grew out of him very soon after, so his situation was very similar with my parents looking after him in her stead (the bare minimum) and i kind of forgot that he existed for a while, until i saw him and started feeling so incredibly bad for him. He was an outdoor rabbit (which he preferred) and lived outside during summer and in the garage in the winter. He lived in one of those petstore cages while he was inside, so i bought a pen and cleared out a huge part of the garage for him to roam in. He got fresh veggies everyday, and when the weather was nice he would lay out basking in the sun, finally living his best life. We had him for a total of 8 years, and he passed away peacefully while sunbathing in the grass. He was also a Lionhead rabbit so this really hit home for me😢
i was worried for a second and wanted to leave a comment after I finished the video.. "why are putting the rabbit on that small cage!!!" you got us good 😂
I'm envious of only because snake enclosure are so much more expensive to make as comfy for a snek as what you built will be for your new bounce-floof. We reptile owners can't get away with just sectioning of space in our house like that unless we section off the majority of a room and put a tortoise in it lol. Everything else is too sly, small, and or sneaky lol.
This 100% snake enclosures are so expensive 😭 and way harder to make your own or diy stuff I have 5 snakes a gecko and 3 cats but I love small animals and dogs and stuff if I had a bigger house! I'd have a reptile room and a small animal room with a pair of free roaming bunnies, maybe some guinea pigs up off the ground and a hamster
@@beachbunnystan9625 I want to build a room to free roam my snakes. I don't even have my own technically as our house's snake belongs to my kid. He saved up and bought it with his own money :). I'm at proud of him as I am envious :P. I'm super envious of you though, you have *5!?!* You're so lucky! I'm disabled so not being able to take care of a snake on my own is a big reason I'm not allowed to have one myself lol. I say allowed but it's that my husband doesn't want another chore. He loves the little guy my son has, but my son and I both take care of him. My partner already has me, our kid, our geriatric kitty and he ended up mostly willingly taking on a bunch of the snake duties regarding electricity and any of the enclosure scapeing that didn't work when I did it the first time (it's bioactive and Sans, that's the snakes name, he's a blue eyed leucistic ball python, decided to make his way under the mesh and mix the substrate and drainage together like the absolute character he is.) My son does the daily care of adjusting and maintaining water duties as well as spot cleaning poop and urates. He also defrosts the rats and turns the lights on and off twice every day. I do what ever water and cleaning I can, I am the primary socializer (I snuggle him every day he isn't shedding or pooping) and I do the actual feeding most of the time as Sans seems to more often take it when I'm the one feeding. My kid does feed him when he's on a good eating streak though. It is his responsibility but we're not jerks and help him out when we're walking by his room and go in to say hi to the little string-on-a-log.
@@beachbunnystan9625 Oh, I meant to get to the point that if I end up in a place I can get and further free roam multiple snakes, that is what I want to do ^-^.
I cant imagine spending winter months in a dark freezing garage and summer time roasting in a cage. That's so, so bad. He's super cute, so grats on your new rabbit 🐇
Those cages from the pet store are actually quite good to have in the case of an emergency. For example when your pet gets sick and needs to be separated from the rest of the group and cannot stay in the same room due to infections. It makes it easier to move the pet for a week or two to a different room. Those cages are also really good for a pet wakes up from surgery or recovers from surgery and is not allowed to move much and needs to be separated for a couple of days from the rest to give the wounds time to heal a bit. It is also good for cleaning as you can clean those cages with nearly any disinfectant and just put it in your tub/shower to clean it after using it. I would always recommend to have one pet store cage for emergencys. But please buy it used, as it would be otherwise so much wasted money.
We've gone through the same stasis experience many times with our older girl and after researching more we learned that one of the best ways to improve their digestion is actually to limit the vegetables. The water in the vegetables can cause them to drink less, and actually become more dehydrated. After switching to feeding her salads with grass and putting her on pellets that are much more natural than the "natural" pellets at pet stores, we've seen such an improvement in her health and even her attitude! I would also recommend you give him more space unless you plan on free roaming him more than once a day. We give our bunnies 2 X-pens together, because they don't have the space to actually zoomie in just 1. They also get larger houses so they can lie down in side with their legs fully extended. :)
Can you say more about what your salads are like? And what pellets you’re giving your bun? One of my buns had stasis twice this year (it was like $4,000 combined 😭). I’ve reduced her veggies and switched her pellets to the ones he shows in the video and so far so good! But would love to hear what you’re doing since she seems to be more sensitive.
@@Spidercandy957 We live out of the city so for salads we normally pick overgrown grass from our yard. Be careful with greens from outside though, because they can give your bunnies viruses. we pick ours from inside our fenced garden where there are no wild rabbits. for pellets we use the Adult Rabbit Food - Measured Timothy Pellets by Sherwood. I hope that helps! :)
WHY RESCUES ARE IMPORTANT: I had a friend in school who was one of my best friends for at least 2 years and one time she said “wanna go see my show rabbits” and I of course was like hell yeah! We went and saw them and they were very healthy and kept well but as we were walking back to the house I saw a small rusty hamster cage sitting on a table with the saddest most neglected rabbit ever. I convinced her to bring the cage inside so the rabbit was not exposed to the rough Minnesota winter. No food in sight, no hay, a disgusting water bottle with brown dirty water bottle. It had a cage with no bottom. Feet right on the grates. It had infected and deformed feet, eye infections, ear infections, was terrified of humans. It’s like they dumbed her outside cuz she wants a good show rabbit and just forgot about her. I obviously tried to take the rabbit in but she was stubborn and said it was okay. I still wonder if that rabbits life ever hit better or if they lived out there life in that horrible rusty cage. Remember there is no shame in surrendering an animal. Sometimes life gets in the way or you don’t understand the proper way to care for them/were unprepared. Do what’s best for the animal.
Your compassion and understanding for the owner is awesome. When I was 19 (I’m almost 40 now) I was gifted a guinea pig for Christmas, I had no clue how to properly care for her. I unintentionally neglected her. I was “too busy” to love her 😞 she didn’t have proper food, or a proper cage setup. I honestly didn’t even see how I was treating her. Then one day I realized that if I kept her she would die, thankfully I was able to rehome her 🙏🏽 It’s always a gift when you can truly learn from your actions… feel the shame… then be gifted another opportunity for do right and be an amazing animal friend owner ❤😊
Twinsies! I just started on my rabbit journey last week. She's 6 and has ear mites and ringworm but I recently discovered she's also deaf and blind. She was a breeder dump and has old broken toes. Excited to see your new videos on him.
When you said "pet stores know what their doing" i was about to CRY, good thing you chucked that out, it sad to think that there is probably some animals living in that exact cage!! Good thing you giving this bunny a new chance and i know he love it 😊❤❤
I actually had to go through the tough decision of rehoming a LOT of animals. When I was younger I wanted a dog, but my mom refused to have another dog in the house. I tried to compromise with her and said that I’d like a molly fish, which is a very small fish that can thrive in as little as a 20 gallon enclosure. You know what my mom did? She found a deal of someone rehoming a 75 gallon cichlid tank for free. It was my first ever tank. My first ever fish and there was 7 of them. There was lots of trial and error, but thankfully no fish were lost. I researched almost every day with new problems occurring. Easy enough to say, I was addicted FAST. I bought loads more tanks, loads more fish. Before I knew it, I had ten tanks in my room, ranging from a 10gal beta tank to my 75gal cichlid tank. I even ended up convincing my mom to let me get three birds and three lizards on top of it. This was her ideal situation rather than getting me a puppy. I was working a part time job and spent EVERY penny on my animals. My mother helped with obviously paying our now $500 electric bill and helping buy the basic maintenance, but we quickly found out that fish are EXPENSIVE. I ended up getting older and getting a full time job on top of my part time job, leaving me less time to properly care for the loads of animals that I accumulated as a kid. I knew my fish needed better, my attention was running thin and they deserved better. It was hard, but I rehomed every single one, to people with tanks I could only dream of making or affording. I knew they’d be happy, even if I did lose them. With becoming an adult and accumulating lots of bills, my funds for supplies was running low. My mother no longer wanted to help out with me becoming an adult. Two of my birds ended up having five babies, giving me eight birds in total. They were cockatiels and required a lot more sustenance than my dove. Their cage was crowded and I didn’t have the space to provide anything more. I had to make a change in my expenses to afford the TREMENDOUS amount of food they were needing and they went through toys FAST. Bird toys were expensive. I knew this was a bad situation for them, but seeing these babies be born and grow into these singing angels. It was hard for me to let go, but I started to be embarrassed of them. I was embarrassed to show friends and family their situation. I hated seeing them in those conditions every day and it took a toll of my confidence because I knew they needed better. It’s such an awful feeling to know what you have wrong, but know that you couldn’t fix it. I couldn’t find anyone to take them and I was running out of options. I found a rehab six hours away from me and knew the drive would be worth it. Coming home the next day and seeing that empty space in my room was heartbreaking, but it was also relieving. It took away so much stress and I knew it took away stress from them as well. Rehoming is hard, but choosing their happiness is easy.
I LITERALLY TOOK A SIGN OF RELIEF WHEN U SAID TO CHUCK IT IN THE TRASH!! I was so confused and I felt so bad for the rabbit and thought it was a little sus when u kept saying “petstores know what they’re doing” lol
Austin, I was SO confused about the cage for a hot minute, but ty for using your platform to inform! I used that cage for my baby hedgehog (he got a bigger upgrade very soon once he started growing)!
The stress of all change probably put him into it. Thank goodness you did your research and knew to take him in! My rabbit had GI stasis and I acted quickly and she made a full recovery. I had to stay up all night and give her critical care every two hours.
Oh ❤ him. Rabbit's are so much harder than guinea pigs. Im a veterinary nurse and one thing we do when we have rabbits in the hospital for gut stasis. Is collect some pellets morning and night every day. This shows us the changes and hopefully the progression of the faeces. No matter the outcome, thank you for treating him as he deserves. Its really difficult when things are so easy to research to understand how it can go so wrong. ❤ sending lots of love
Bunnies can on rare occasion jump out of that hight (if there is like a hide in the outer corner or something) but you can put like a blanket or towel over the corner so they can’t jump out.
You have been officially welcomed into bunnycare with the first vet visit. Welcome to being a bun dad. He’s adorable.Change in environment must have cased this little one stress poor thing. My first year with bun bun was a lot of sleepless nights knowing how important his gut health is. Bless you for keeping him despite allergies.
Just finished the video. I'm so excited for the rabbit journey we are about to go on! I'm not able to get small animals like this since I have cats and large dogs, so I shall keep living vicariously through you. Sending all the good energy to lil Milo
Wishing you well, Milo! Gotta say, I'm already hooked on The Pig Room videos after just one. Awesome content, loaded with information. I'm considering guinea pigs or rabbits for first time family pets. I'm really, really excited, and although I've owned many different species of pets throughout my life, I have never owned either. I've been doing research for about two months now, preparing. Tomorrow is a call to the nearest reputable vet, to make sure they have small animals care. I'm excited, and happy to have stumbled across your channel.
I had an allergic reaction to one of my chinchillas that I’ve had for 2 years. I’ve held her so many times. It was the strangest thing. A quick shower and some allergy medicine took care of it though. Your new rabbit is just precious! 🤍
I did a similar rescue. My childhood friend’s oldest sister impulse buys animals. I finally got her to surrender the bunny to my friend… we got him all set up and he was instantly stretched out, loved the cat, let us get the ticks off of him, and binkied all day every day. Then he was brought to my local shelter and was adopted! It made me so happy to see him thriving.
When you pulled out the store cage i bursted out laughing and when you said “why would they sell something that’s not for rabbits, they must know what they’re doing” I just know how much you spoil your guinea pigs. You could NEVER lol. Can’t wait to see you spoil your rabbits too
such a cute bunny! i haven't been able to have guinea pigs for years cus of my living situation, but i for sure am going to be getting guinea pigs and bunnies once i can when im living on my own in a year or two. your channel is very helpful and i have been educated so much on these animals ^^ love your channel bro!
At first I knew you were pranking...then you kept going, I was like wait, did he lose his mind? I kept hearing pet stores know everything which was my assurance that you were kidding though. Milo is adorable! I hope he feels better soon! He's got a good Papa that will fix him right up!
I'm excited for you! I have had buns since I was little and currently have a lion head that is turning 10 this April! She was a rescue from a shelter and did have a husband (both fixed) but lost him a few years back. She is doing good on her own and is supper spoiled! I love getting the seasonal cat scratch houses from Target to make her house fun. I also use a huge dog play pen for her house and put linoleum over plywood for a huge cage for her. She was in a room just for her and the Guinea pigs when I had some but I have to put her someplace else because my elderly parents have to move in. Luckly I have a big house and was able to use the same cage for her just in the live area of our basement. She is a princess and is treated like so. I can't wait to hear more about your little man!
Hey Austin!!! Been watching you for so long even though I only have a bunny and no piggies, but yay!! you have milo now!!! I realized you gave him a whole carrot and lots of pellets on the food bowl, just a rule of thumb carrots or any fruits, one tiny slice is plenty for buns!! And less than a 1/4 cup of pellets a daily is more than enough!
Hey I work at the pet store you got that cage at!! That's our brand, thank you for throwing that shit away. I am being so serious when I say I snatch that shit away from guests hoping it'll be a good option. I had rabbits. That cage is micro even for a lionhead which are a smaller species of rabbit, fuck off putting a ferret in that thing. A piggy can get their claws caught in the wires, a ferret can easily escape, and a rabbit has little to no room to run. Rabbits RUN. If you aren't custom building a large hutch, these animals need space. Most cages or habitats from big pet stores are never ideal for the animal they claim to house. The bright neon hamster tubes still give me nightmares.
Also my rabbits were Rex’s (they come in two different sizes, mini rexs and standard rexs) they have velvet fur and are hypoallergenic :)) Maybe your next bun that you bond Milo with should be a Rex so that your allergies don’t worsen
yooo i nearly had a heartattack watching you set up the cage until i saw the comments XD we had a similar size cage for the two bunnies we rescued... and we used it as a litterbox and gave them a whole room (technically a whole floor of the house) to run around in XD also while the bunny was kept outside in a hutch, he was still sooo well looked after given the circumstances. I'm still glad he was given the Pig room, and hopefully he can still go outside a lot and have fun!
I’m experiencing the same thing too. My cat July I had her for ~10 yrs now and I raised her like a teenage mom, not knowing what to give her, what could help her, plus my mom HATED her and would lock her up in the bathroom or balcony to punish me. (She has a problem I’m working on it. ) when I went to uni abroad and my aunt started to take care of July, she likes animals and wants to protect her. I tried to work with her and bought better things for July now I know better, and my aunt started to make meals for July, like premium homemade meat stews with add vitamins. I’m so happy about her helping me with July, but I could still do better and as soon as i could rent a house I’ll bring her over and take care of her myself. Wish me luck. 😢
So happy for you! I had bunnies when I was a child. My dad made a hutch, but it was big and spacious and we had them in a huge enclosure with so much grass and it was like a mini field by our greenhouse. Taking care is a commitment and it's hard. When we got ours, we thought they were two females. Haha, wrong! Two, became.... yeah, it was a lot and the hard thing was, one got an illness and it was something that spread quickly and it was sad, and helpless as we couldn't do anything at that time. So much is learned now about exotic pets and I am happy for your journey. He's beautiful and I was dying when you started off with that pet store cage as that is the one they tried to sell me when I got my skinny Harriet. She was alone for two months and was not looking good...I had to get her out of that tank!
Omg this makes me so happy! I actually just started watching your channel a few weeks ago because I adopted a lionhead mix and love the way you set up your pig room:)
I've been a bunny mom for over 20 years. And a piggie mom since 2017...and I am 56. If you need ANY help with your new bun(s), I'm here for whatever you may need!! Best of the seaspn...Merry Christmas!!
Get well soon little milo. Austen is sounds like you rescued this little man in the nick of time... He obviously is in need of some special care for a while bless him 🫠😘
As a bunny owner for almost a year now I’m so glad you’re going into the bunny gurney!!! One thing I want to address is the full carrot in the cage near the end bunny’s arnt supposed to have a full carrot like that because of all the sugars but can’t wait to see you go threw this gurney!! The poops are defintly not normal either like you said there defintly to small and to smooshy rabbits poops are normally kinda stiff and kind of a powdery substance inside I’m glad you caught that!!!
I was literally crying because I felt so bad for this rabbit, and then you said check this in the trash and I was like, thank God you literally almost give me a heart attack
Just some food for thought, I’ve had 4 buns in the past and they all loved those baby ring things that connect together, I’d make a few different sizes of them and you can hook them onto the side of there cages but my buns loved when I’d leave 3-4 of them connected together just laying in the cage, they love picking up the rings and throwing them around, another thing my buns loved were those cat crinkle mats, they loved flopping on them and binkying on them, something about the crinkle, they loved it, they also loved those hay balls so that they could throw them around, I’d also suggest putting a hay bag on the wall above his litter box as bunnies will eat the hay in there litter box that is covered in pee and poo if they don’t have any clean hay, I hope this helps :))
OMG, I cried when you discovered the first poops! Sweet little Milo, he's adorable! I hope he feels better soon!!!! Thank you for taking him in Austin, you're an angel!
YOU GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK WHEN YOU SHOWD ME THAT CAGE !! I have 4 guinea pigs. And 2 rabbits (dwarfs) and my bunnies are free roamed. My guinea pigs are in a 2x7 cage with no bars. It's like a diy cage. I got inspo from autumn grace :)
I’m so excited to see bunny content on your channel now. I have a female lion head, she’s 2.5 years old. I knew you weren’t being serious about the cage as soon as you said you trusted the pet store…
Omg, u had me going! I was like Austin, u of ALL ppl getting a pet store cage and saying how good it is and pet stores know best?! I was like he has to b joking 😅so glad ur back ❤
Thank you for rescuing and taking such good care of the piggies and bunnies🙏 I Hope you will see my comment. No animal benefits from drinking from water bottles like the pigs currently do, there is literally only downsides to water bottles. They need bowls; they will drink more, they won't get issues with teeth, won't fight for water or get issues with their necks or with bacteria. Please consider it.
I just recently discovered your channel, and so glad I did... I'm happy to be a new subscriber 😊 As for sweet Milo... I'm so happy that you adopted him. He's going to be living his best life. Much love 💕
😂 You had me going for a minute! I was like, "wait... he always says pet stores DON'T know anything." Then when you kept saying how spacious it is and how pet stores know what they are talking about, I was waiting for you to say it was a joke. 😂
My bunny would love all of that stuff omg, she loves chewing and laying on the scratchers, and she hates hardwood floors, watching her drink out of the water fountain is so cute
My bunnies outside. Two bonded adopted pairs, all four are fixed and insured. Each have around 1600 square feet. Around the whole 3200 square feet we have electric wires top and bottom to keep baddies out. Lots of houses, tunnels, sand boxes and things to do. They have a network of tunnels underground as well! As long as they have lots of space to move they can stay warm easier, also their house should be dry and draft free.
I have a rabbit too. She's 4.5 years old and I've had her for most of her life. She mostly only eats hay and a small amount of greens and the tiniest amount of pellets. Every once in a while she gets gas and won't eat so I give her gas medicine and then she's fine. I've never seen mushy poops before (other than cecotropes when she was getting too much pellets before I knew). I'm glad Milo found his way to you so he can get healthy and get all the vet care he needs.
Omg you got me good. Congratulations on now owning a bunny!!! They are so much fun and amazing creatures that get misunderstood as animals that need to live in cages. Be sure to get him fixed it will help with litterbox training, spraying, territorial ness, aggression, etc. Especially if you are going to get another bunny it will make the bonding process sooooo much easier.
Omg new to your channel and you scared the crap out of me! Glad I continued watching. Congratulations on your new boy! I was a bun mom and then recently adopted 4 piggies (girls). Buns and piggies aren’t together. Just thought I should mention that.
I have 3 rabbits and I wouldn’t suggest using aspen shavings because I got a rabbit who had a bad eye from either the shavings or allergies from the shavings, instead I would suggest paper bedding, although I love your setup. It’s soooo nice, you gave me a heart attack at first when you had the pet store cage, I was like no way he’s going to use that, just no way.
OMG..I also unsubcribed in the beginning until you said that tiny rabbit prison was a joke! LOL LOVE YOU SO MUCH SWEET MILO! Thank you so much Austin for healing this precious Bunny boy! He is sooooooooo Adorable and I love his colors. I can't wait to see him feel normal again and later be bonded with a buddy. God Bless you Austin! 🥰😇🤗
I was so excited when I saw you made a video about getting a rabbit. I always enjoy watching rabbit room set ups, but when you brought out the cage, I was so confused. And mad. I was literally about to leave the video!! Good thing I stayed.😂 it Sounds like you’ve done lots of good research. Good for you, and I’m so excited for the rabbit to have a brand new life, With someone who tries their best understand.❤😂😅
Lol, OMG! 😂 First time watching your channel and I was dying watching you building that horrendous cage and talking about it and the Pet store! Thank God you were just playing with our hearts. OK going back to watching the video now. Had to stop and comment. Good luck 👍. I just subscribed so I'll be watching your progress. 😊
I recently had to re-home my bun. I got him 2.5 years ago. Long story short I thought about getting a rabbit for a while, I ended up meeting someone that found a bunny. I tried my best but just couldn’t bond with him and found it difficult to keep up with his care. Tried finding a home for 6 months and now he’s at a foster.
I haven't been watching you for long yet so yeah, you 100% got me with that cage. When I was young we used to have 2 guinea pigs. Just in a (in hindsight pretty small) crate. Then in later years I had some hamsters but since then no rodents anymore, I now have cats and a dog instead. So when I saw your videos I was super surprised on how much the care of guinea pigs has changed. I really didn't know any better (and probably neither did my parents, I mean, I was like 8) but to see how much more space they needed and also using blankets instead of saw dust really just blew my mind. I kinda want guinea pigs now just because I love all the colors and lights. (And no, I won't, I'm an adult and smarter than that ;) ) But anyway, when you showed that rabbit cage I was so incredibly disappointed, really wondering why you'd have such amazing cages for your guinea pigs and then such a sad little cage for the rabbit. I should've had more faith in you though, sorry for doubting you!
The kiln dried pine pellets work amazing for piggies litter boxes too. but i'm sure you know that already :) This bun is gonna be in the best care! Congrats on getting your new bun
Oooooo you got me with that cage!!! I found your videos yesterday and watched 8 hours of them and my jaw was on the ground when you were saying pet stores know what they are doing 😅😂
He really got me lmao 😂 I was ready to go off in this comment section! But we know him so well I started to think he was definitely setting us up lol congrats on this rabbit journey❤ I can’t wait till I start mine
I'm pausing the video to say, Whew. Okay. 😮💨 This is my first foray into your videos, and it was only until you got to the Hawk Talons bit that I had the lol 💡 moment. Well done 👍🏻❤️🩹
Bro with that rabbit cage.. you kept saying oh pet stores know what they are doing and I was just.. so concerned like what happened to you. The relief when you said to throw it away, definitely gave me a good laugh too
lol Thank GOD that you threw that horrific thing away. I was suspicious when you kept saying "Petstores knows what they're doing.." and I'm like "Do they..? Really..?"
It was sarcasm hon lol
@@mywingsareyours Yes.. I got that as I grew suspicious of the comment constantly being dropped.
Offft an an autistic person the sarcasm was really hard to read
Also why did he buy one ? If he wasn't going to use it>< needless consumption ??
@@leaf2309 He mentioned it really quickly in the video but did say he's returning it. I think he just bought it to make the joke in the video - he's not actually throwing it away.
much respect to the woman for learning what is right and making the tough decision to let bunny go to a better home, I know that is so difficult.
Ohh u r weird

i had to scroll thru the comments with my jaw DROPPED lmao
Omg I was dying when you said pet stores know what they are doing. I had a bunny for 11 years and I was about to send you pictures after crying since I watch your videos all the time. Thank God!
Please dont throw the catnip away or other excess food and toys. Animal shelters will gladly accept those as a donation and it's better than just throwing it away. I love your channel keep up the great work. Also you almost got me with that pet store cage joke
I wouldnt normally bother with catnip i volunteered in an animal shelter and toms of things like that werre thrown put😢
Make sure he cannot reach it as well, as they will tear it up and could ingest it. You would be surprised how much damage they can cause.
I LOVE THE SNARK ABOUT PET STORES!!!!! YEEEESSSSS!!!!!! I get so angry about companies that sell
products for animals that are absolutely inappropriate for them!!!!!
Because that's what they're there to do.
Does anyone here know if Petco and PetSmart still have animal suppliers that mistreat their animals? I couldn't find much recent info about it
You really got me 😂 I thought you were being SERIOUS with that cage! I knew you were better than that! ♥️
I’m so happy you’ll bond him to another rabbit ❤️ he deserves a friend after all these years alone 🙁 You are they best
I’m so happy Milo is now in your care, unfortunatly his condition would have gone unnoticed by the previous owner. Sending Milo healing vibes. ❤
@@teijaflink2226 rabbits have fur coats and love cold weather. Think about you going outside in a large down coat. You are warm. Same for them.
Almost forgot, to save your cords, I used to use shower rod covers. You can save yourself so much heartache and money!!!
Yesterdays new is now called fresh news and is sold by a different company I use it for my rats litter box
Hemp bedding works very well in my rabbits. Recycled paper is not hard for paws = good thing, but isn't it quick to become smelly?
He was also a Lionhead rabbit so this really hit home for me😢
I had the exact same experience, mine is also a lionhead
i was worried for a second and wanted to leave a comment after I finished the video..
My partner already has me, our kid, our geriatric kitty and he ended up mostly willingly taking on a bunch of the snake duties regarding electricity and any of the enclosure scapeing that didn't work when I did it the first time (it's bioactive and Sans, that's the snakes name, he's a blue eyed leucistic ball python, decided to make his way under the mesh and mix the substrate and drainage together like the absolute character he is.)
My son does the daily care of adjusting and maintaining water duties as well as spot cleaning poop and urates.
Rabbits actually do well in cold weather so long as they're out of the elements.
@@blobbertmcblob4888yeah the problem would probably be the summer depending on how much hair they have
Those cages from the pet store are actually quite good to have in the case of an emergency.
But please buy it used, as it would be otherwise so much wasted money.
yeah but its sad how people think that that cage is good for their whole life😢
We've gone through the same stasis experience many times with our older girl and after researching more we learned that one of the best ways to improve their digestion is actually to limit the vegetables.
WHY RESCUES ARE IMPORTANT:
I had a friend in school who was one of my best friends for at least 2 years and one time she said “wanna go see my show rabbits” and I of course was like hell yeah!
The ending made me cry. He found you at the right time. ❤️
I had to stay up all night and give her critical care every two hours.
such a cute boy!!! cant wait to see his recovery and glow up! ❤
If you have a local rabbit rescue id definitely suggest reaching out to them to see who would be a good fit as a companion for him in the future!
Nope. Bonding rabbits can be really tricky. You can't just throw two rabbits together and call it a day.
Just started watching your channel last night but I love, love, love how much you care for your animals
When you pulled out the store cage i bursted out laughing and when you said “why would they sell something that’s not for rabbits, they must know what they’re doing”
I just know how much you spoil your guinea pigs. You could NEVER lol. Can’t wait to see you spoil your rabbits too
I'm at 5:20 and coming from later videos....SO glad you give them nice sized pens instead of the cage
such a cute bunny! i haven't been able to have guinea pigs for years cus of my living situation, but i for sure am going to be getting guinea pigs and bunnies once i can when im living on my own in a year or two. your channel is very helpful and i have been educated so much on these animals ^^ love your channel bro!
cant believe how much you reacted to him bless you, im glad your keeping him though
Thank you for knowing about small animals.
Also my rabbits were Rex’s (they come in two different sizes, mini rexs and standard rexs) they have velvet fur and are hypoallergenic :))
Maybe your next bun that you bond Milo with should be a Rex so that your allergies don’t worsen
LUUUV THE DRAMA!!! I’m totally here for it. Just keep posting. You’re adorable.
Your conversation with her was so sweet and heartening.
You really committed to that cage bit and I thought I hopped dimensions for a second there LOLL
yooo i nearly had a heartattack watching you set up the cage until i saw the comments XD we had a similar size cage for the two bunnies we rescued... and we used it as a litterbox and gave them a whole room (technically a whole floor of the house) to run around in XD also while the bunny was kept outside in a hutch, he was still sooo well looked after given the circumstances.
Oh, man, you absolutely got me! I was sweating bullets as you set it up! HAHAHA!!

I was cracking up when you brought that cage out!😂
I was literally crying because I felt so bad for this rabbit, and then you said check this in the trash and I was like, thank God you literally almost give me a heart attack
Congratulations on the new bunny. He’s absolutely adorable.
He is so cute I'm glad Milo is feeling better ❤
OMG, I cried when you discovered the first poops! Sweet little Milo, he's adorable! I hope he feels better soon!!!! Thank you for taking him in Austin, you're an angel!
Ew you didn’t cry over poop💀

I’m so excited to see bunny content on your channel now. I have a female lion head, she’s 2.5 years old. I knew you weren’t being serious about the cage as soon as you said you trusted the pet store…
I literally was sooo confused at the start of the video and so happy and relieved when you stated you were totally joking
Omg, u had me going! I was like Austin, u of ALL ppl getting a pet store cage and saying how good it is and pet stores know best?! I was like he has to b joking 😅so glad ur back ❤
I had my bunny for ten years she was beautiful , Milo is so cute he's got a wonderful home with you now
Thank you for rescuing and taking such good care of the piggies and bunnies🙏 I Hope you will see my comment.
I was so shocked when you pulled out the box 😂
He is the cutest little bunny! Nice to see you’re taking such good care of him 😊
My bunnies outside.
Omg you got me sp bad!!! 😂😂
Mostly when you were saying "pet store knows what they re doing... right"
I was dying inside!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Fioufff!!!!!! 😅
He got me too 😂 XD silly Austin!!
Congrats on the new family member! 🎉 🍾I truly hope that Milo is feeling so much better very soon. 💕
Omg new to your channel and you scared the crap out of me! Glad I continued watching. Congratulations on your new boy! I was a bun mom and then recently adopted 4 piggies (girls). Buns and piggies aren’t together. Just thought I should mention that.
I use the pine pellets and I soak them to make them soft. They absorb water so well that they aren’t wet. Used for my horses too.
Glad you knew better because you got me at the first part. Also glad you knew that water bowls are better.
What an adorable little cutie! So happy he will have a better home now.
I was so excited when I saw you made a video about getting a rabbit. I always enjoy watching rabbit room set ups, but when you brought out the cage, I was so confused. And mad. I was literally about to leave the video!! Good thing I stayed.😂
it Sounds like you’ve done lots of good research.
That lil bun is so happy in his new cage. 🥺
The kiln dried pine pellets work amazing for piggies litter boxes too. but i'm sure you know that already :)
This bun is gonna be in the best care! Congrats on getting your new bun
Oooooo you got me with that cage!!! I found your videos yesterday and watched 8 hours of them and my jaw was on the ground when you were saying pet stores know what they are doing 😅😂
You got me!! I was like 'what is he saying?!' Pet stores know what they're doing?! 😂😂
He really got me lmao 😂 I was ready to go off in this comment section! But we know him so well I started to think he was definitely setting us up lol congrats on this rabbit journey❤ I can’t wait till I start mine
I was like he’s got to be joking. Especially when you said pet stores knows best!!!!! 😂😂😂
YAY for poppies!!!!! We love poopies!! So happy for you and congrats on your new baby!
I'm pausing the video to say, Whew. Okay. 😮💨
This is my first foray into your videos, and it was only until you got to the Hawk Talons bit that I had the lol 💡 moment.
Well done 👍🏻❤️🩹
Bro with that rabbit cage.. you kept saying oh pet stores know what they are doing and I was just.. so concerned like what happened to you. The relief when you said to throw it away, definitely gave me a good laugh too
