- Ned Stark’s daughter will speak for them. She’s the best they could ask for.

This video first came into existence as a hastily written list of ideas in my notes app. Things quickly spiraled from there. Because of the amount of ideas I had, I started by putting footage together instead of choosing a song, which is NOT my usual process. This fanvid took me about a month to make, in large part due to the length of it, which made editing exponentially longer.
But it was definitely worth it. I am super happy with this, even though I had to leave out some ideas I loved. I actually put together a google doc with all of the “cut content” if you are interested in checking it out. It also has the full versions of the quotes I used, as I had to edit some to make them fit the context. However, because my account isn't "verified", I can't post external links; please see my tumblr for access to the google doc.
Please feel free to take inspiration from anything I did here and anything in the cut content doc - I share so that people can be inspired just like I have been by others :)
This video was initially inspired by Ned/Jon/Robb/Theon | Legacy by @eduardor3177 who has made some absolutely incredibly GoT videos.

Their video got me thinking; in what ways does Sansa carry on the legacy of Ned and Robb?
This was in part inspired by the thinking I did for my brutus vid for Sansa (which you should check out ;P • sansa stark; BRUTUS , though this is through a more somber and thoughtful and much less rage-filled lens.
Along with my own thoughts, there are a lot of amazing vidders who have come up with some really awesome parallels that I was able to use as a jumping off point. This vid would not have been possible for me without their amazing work. I stand on the shoulders of giants, etc etc. It would be impossible to list every vidder I’ve been inspired by, but here are some of the vids that were particularly inspirational in this process.
My all-time favorite Sansa vid, by @cursedhat

Absolutely everything by @LaurenMichellex is amazing, but especially these two vids, which really got me thinking about Sansa as the heir to her family’s legacy:

And, finally, a wildcard GoT video that is not Sansa focused, but that has kept me very good company on this editing journey. It’s by @wanheda6630 and it showcases the love that exists at the heart of even a story like GoT:

And this is why she was always the best to have the crown.
While there are those that do not like Sansa, I personally think her journey was a masterpiece. Her story, to me, was the most human.
She had no powers, she wasn't a soldier, she wasn't a genius, in all respect she started out a weak, naive little girl. But she learned. Despite the brutality she survived, she adapted, she transformed. Which is what most are forced to do everyday. Just make the best of the situation.
And in her pain and suffering she found her strength in herself.
This is beautiful, honestly the best video about Sansa I think I've ever seen (and I've watched alot haha). She was truly the natural leader for the North and the Stark family, I think once you get into those later seasons, she was the perfect balance of Ned's Stark honour and Catelyn's Tully wisdom of family BEFORE duty and honour.
I GOT CHILLS FROM THIS! You did a terrific job with this! I have always wished to see a video like this since they had many narrative parallels, just hidden between the lines.
Sansa is best of both her parents she has her mom looks And her dad heart and personality, she is the one we are on the journey with
she survived the second five kings war without supernatural protection , she faced down the worse characters of the show. avenged her family, her and her sister took care of it, jon just took the credit,
jon sansa and arya are the new three headed dragon,
sansa changed everyone for the better she was born to rule and good at it, she deserves the seven with her Targaryen prince Tyrion and sandor as her queen guard and lover and Varys and bran as her seer
The best video of her 😢❤
I never realized how similar sansa and her father looked, she has almost the same nose and same eyes with her mothers hair
Wow! Super editing!
amazing
This was great
Stunning video! I loved all the parallels. I can only imagine the many hours this took to make.
This was lovely! Probably the best Sansa tribute I’ve watched! ❤️
Such a good video it os good and sweet
a masterpiece.
Oh no! Now I'm crying at work!
Got chills, so amazing!!!!❤
this is so well down, such a masterpiece!!
THIS IS INSANE OMG
i love her
Sansa bu kadar güçün şiddetin kötülüğün içinde kadınlığın zerafetini ve güzelliği temsil etti. Düşmanlarını dinledi ve iyi tahlil etti ve ona göre tedbir aldı.
I can't measure how unfair this is. Jon fought for his brothers, he was tired, he had been betrayed, but he fought for Sansa and Rickon, he was willing to give his life for them. It was Jon who defeated most of the Bolton troops, he was the one who retook the castle and captured Ramsey. Sansa was unfair to him, undermined his authority in front of his vassals, did not keep the secret he entrusted to her, which could have caused his death. Jon killed Daenerys to protect Sansa, yet he ended up exiled and she reigned. A great injustice, Jon did not deserve so much ingratitude.
i don’t usually like to argue in my comment sections, but I’m feeling petty, so i’ll match your energy.
did you… watch the video? if so, i think you might have missed the point; it’s not really about any of that lol. you can have any opinion you want about sansa - she’s a fictional character; you can’t hurt her feelings. however, it’s pretty weird to get mad about her “ingratitude” towards your fave in the comments of a random video made as a labor of love by another fan. especially when said video has barely anything to do with any of the things you’re mad about, other than exploring the idea of sansa as a leader of the north.
i actually intentionally steered away from the incredibly messy storyline of jon and/or sansa “betraying” each other in this vid as much as possible. i pulled inspiration from the books instead - i specifically went for the vibe of jon’s convo with stannis in the books, where he says many things, but he also says some stuff along the lines of “i can’t give you winterfell even if i wanted to, because even if all my brothers are dead, it belongs to my sister sansa.” so this vid doesn’t really follow show canon at all in that regard. hence why jon’s “king in the north” scene is absent from the end bit. if you really want to get mad about the way i’ve interpreted jon and sansa’s relationship in the show’s actual canon (without any book inspiration), you should have gone after my “brutus” vid instead 😅
also, sansa having parallels to ned and robb doesn’t mean that jon doesn’t have any of his own. this video just ain’t about him lmaoooo
if you would prefer to watch vids about jon, there are a ton of amazing ones out there for you to find. if you cared enough about engaging with this video in good faith to read the carefully written description box, you would have found that this video is actually heavily inspired by an amazing vid by Eduardo31 called “Ned/Jon/Robb/Theon | Legacy” which heavily features jon and explores the way ned affected each of those characters - that video is almost certainly more your speed.
sorry to get a bit heated, but it really bothers me when people use the comments under fanworks about a character to hate on said character. this wasn’t made by the writers of game of thrones. this was made by me. a random fan. it took me a month of my life. it was a labor of love. and then you called the product of all that work “unfair” to a character that it’s not even about lol.
i actually really like jon - i think he’s a super interesting character, and i think the show did him dirty in a lot of ways. but not everything is about him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
in conclusion: if you hate sansa that much, maybe don’t click on youtube videos about her.
@@theprincessandthepie I am still mad that they changed Jons character so much from the books! Book Jon would never have stolen Sansas crown! It should have been Sansa who was crowned after the Battle of the B, she was the one moving people inorder to take back Winterfell and was the one to encourage Jon. Jon may have fought, but Sansa was the true person doing all the work. Her character is one of the few that is about soft power and leadership, while others are hard power. The last few seasons should have been the war of the 3 queens along with the Long Night and Jons battle with them. Jon being the true Heir to the Iron Throne should have been played out later with Queen Sansa backing and protecting Jon from Daenerys and Cersi in the war between the 3 Queens.
Jon being crowned over Sansa was for the fans only and to rush the plot and not true to the world this is in. The first have of the series focuses so much into this build up between Sansa, Jon, Arya, Cersi, Daenerys and Tryon. They could have done so much with Littlefinger, the war for the iron throne, the White Walkers and Daenerys vs Jon if they had held back with Jons character and allowed Sansa to have what was hers while building the war for the crown and the Long Night up. Sansa and Jon could have been a power team between them while fighting with everything the had learn up to this. Jon the true heir to the Iron throne and Sansa the Queen of the North!
Oh wow! I will never turn down a Sansa video but this blew me away. Chills everywhere. You have such a wonderful way of storytelling. 🤍
