still a viable option for attunementless builds, you can have 55 chr + 80wp pre shrine and post 90 ft and you would still have room for 40str + ~87med and 25agl post shrine with ghost
as for other high investment talents, atdg just isnt good anymore, 105 points or its garbage if you shrine with it and thats too much to ask for. intelligence at 40 is mostly useless
whilst the pen on 80+ strength is nice, there really isnt anything else going for it. skyshatter kick fell off tremendously and feint --> strong left isnt going to land all of the time. rapid punches is just okay

With how much pen you can get I'd say 25% isnt average pen anymore, and with so much fortitude you can afford going for a bit of phys armor. Phys armor gets better the longer the fight goes on because it effectively multiplies any regen you receive, ive been running scrapsinger deepcrusher, and the longer the fight goes on the higher is my chance to drain all my opponents armor (and basically win) , so all i have to do is stack as much phys/elemental res and spam bloodless

For builds like ironsing
Alloyblood decreases one of the maim sources of true damage which is bleed and it has refine n reuse to
So iron gets a good amnt of benefit from phys considering its playstyle promotes longevity
However,
I showed in the vid that the phys pip rivals the hp pip almost 1:1
4hp pip (hp pip)
Vs 5hp provided by phys (considering 30% pen)
Considering how mantras and bleed and such are a huge portion of the damage its really hard to get your moneys worth from physical
U could easily calculate how much u need to hesl to make phys worth it
First off lets assume 50%m1 dmg and 50% mantra dmg dealt to your hp
From that we can decrease the 5hp of phys to 2.5hp
And then im that 50% m1 damage
We can remove lets say 20% to bleed since bleed wont proc every m1
So it goes to 40%
So that 2.5hp goes to 2hp
So you need to heal an actual 100% hp to get that 2hp equivalant to the amount of hp provided by an hp pip
(By the way i didnt account for bells or gaurdbreaks or elemental effects)
Which would only worsen the case.
If u can manage to heal 100% in a fight, u can get the equivalant effect of just using Hp pips instead

I like the calmness the video creates usually we would be greeted with a loud intro or music but instead we get to enjoy the editing with a nice little song in the back to listen to really makes the video entertaining.
About the hp vs phys, thats sounds good theoretically but max hp is like 146 hp i think and max phys kit will still give you 90-100 hp, what sounds better 146 flat hp and 0 phys or 100hp and 24.5% extra physical (already accounting the physical tax u get when u wear an outfit like blackdiver. I have both max hp and physical kit, with blackdiver i either have 540hp with 54.5% physical or 585hp with 30% physical

2. Reason why I go reinforced. 1. Being that there are still builds that have uncapped pen and usually these r mage builds with 6 songchant (30% pen) plus any other stat buff they have. 2. There aren’t many high investment talents in game that are quite useful in terms of defence. So I tend to stack chaotic charm and reinforced armour then go for a legendary attument weapon because of their low reqs. That’s just my opinion tho
The uncap PEN builds still be very good vs reinforced, my almost 100% pen shattered build would still be doing 60% PEN (more than max uncapped PEN)

Also important to consider the extra hp from going 90 fort + the 5 hp from the talent itself. A typical build goes around 50 fort and 90 gives an extra 20 compared to that.
Finally someone who can do the numbers right. Great video
I think the thought process behind it makes sense, but if you look at the other things the 90 fort 30 will provide (most builds always get 50 fort and some will anyway), 90 fort points alone is 45 health and the bastion talents give a lot of posture (which is insanely important rn), even if the 8% armour reduction is truly accurate, it’s still very good in a lot of scenarios as people will minmax even 2 health to gain an advantage and a lot of people usually end up being one hp from a fight and clutching.
Yes 55 charm is always better and you should always get, but the damage buff from heretics is only 10% not 15 and the pen isn’t actually 15 because of diminishing returns. The anti-heal is really good, but requires 40 intelligence aswell which a lot of builds can’t fit.
Overall I would go reinforced armour on most builds that can afford it for these aforementioned reasons, hence why a lot of top players get reinforced armour.

Yeah most builds do have to go 50 fortitude
And get 3 bastion cards being
Moving fortress tendency and firmly planted.
Ra fits primarily on no attunement builds that arent Silentheart
Apart from that no other build can fit it without having better options
Or another element being better
As for the insanity dmg thing
U gain 75% of the LYM buff at 50% insanity
So around 12%- dmg at that stage
Which has no risk with unfazed
Optimal amount is 70% insanity which grants almost the entire buff and anything past is almost nothing and u can stay safe of the dangerous and risky part of insanity
And the 15% pen doesnt fall off from anything lest you are capped on pen
Heretics doesnt get hurt by nlk or insanity any more than your normal person.
Head dont pop ever unless youre nlk
Ra has its places but id say its restricted to non element
50 fortitude can be shrined down to 25 with minimal losses.
Compared to a forced 90 fort post shrine it is about a 55 points loss which is insane.
RA main problem is always the fact that there is ALWAYS better options, it's the opportunity cost which makes RA near trasg
A forced post shrine 90 points also means that your shrining level will always be massively lowered unless you want to grief your own shrine effiencecy by going 30 fort 30 will pre shrine
In any build thats not attunementless, you will be shrining incredibly early and all your stats will be about 15 points because your post shrine will cost about 200 points depending on your weapon
Which massively hinders what you can shrine and how much you can shrine
TLDR RA is nearly pure trash dont go for it

It's true that R.A isn't amazing but the best part about it is that I'm pretty sure it decreases mantra pen as well and that you gain extra health from all the fortitude. Some people don't like heretics since you have to distance yourself from your enemy and disrupt your flow to use it. The only other high stat option other than fort and wp is charisma which isn't better than R.A and strength which also isn't too worth it due to you needing a 30% pen weapon to take advantage of million ton piercer and a lot of gbs to use collapsed lung effectively (not mentioning that lvl 5 strong left doesn't even gb).

I don't minmax my builds like this anyways. I go for some crazier combinations, I rarely touch high investment core attributes.

one thing you didnt consider when making this vid is that if you go reinforced armor you also get +20-25 hp from just having more stat points invested into fortitude not to mention the +5 hp from the talent itself. disregaurding that, great vid, keep up the good work.
as someone with 93% resist, reinforced armor really worth it. (Charm - 10 Armour - 30 (+10blunt) + Enchants (Ferocity/Multiplicity for heal/Englament) + Equipp 20phys 100hp) also i have chaotic/exo and other things(like to the finish). To be honest, feeling REALLY tanky. (Go for reinforced only after shrine for bigger reduction, also giving ya goood shield option)
If ya have 20phys from equipp, can go for ferryman cloak and still have 35+- phys

Why reinforced armor is good.
- allows more tankiness
- the bastion talents are almost always must haves (posture and good passives)
- hp from reinforced armor
- 30 willpower allows you to get good hp talents like habits die hard and breathing exercise as well as getting exoskeleton with the fortitude
-only costs 10 more points to get exhaustion strike, neuroplas, and azure flames (if you’re flame)
-shrining it down. even though it’s worse after shrine, it’s good for spreading points to other attributes and you end up with around 65 fort which is in general.
I’m not tryna say the videos bad I think the editing and examples are great I’m just saying this for people who are a bit confused if they should go reinforced armor. ❤
Reinforced armour definetely has some situations where irs worth going.
In terms of tankiness its def a solid option
But for most builds people end up sacrificing so many good necessities just for it.
If they just stand still and eat damage without good mantras or mixups theyll suffer.
They gotta make sure to have everything else covered before devoting to reinforced armour

reinforced armor might have a steep requirment but it is very worth it on something like a hero blade build as i made a build with hertics choatic charm + reinforced armor post shrine with talents like ghost and showstopper, reinforced armor not only gives a good pen reduction but the hp you get from just have 90 fortitude is amazing so if you are going for high hp you should still definitly go this talent

reinforced armor is still a very good choice for silenthearth builds if you make physical or elemental reduction equipment, only the silenthearth + a good armor can give you smtg close to 55%, add that to focused equipment and you've got yourself something close to 75%, if the player deals 65 dmg a hit, you will be taking 48 less, if the player has 25% pen thats a -32, if you deny almost half of that then you can reduce something around ~42 to 44 dmg, good investment if you are a silenthearth i think

And i strongly believe that physicsl resistance is alot worse than HP pips

Completely bypass physical armour
As it stands, if u have 30% pen
Hp pips are worth 4hp
And phys is worth 5hp
But they dont affect various thinbs like gaurdbreaks bell,bleed Mantras which are a huge source of damage n what not

@@kairos- heretic sutra is debatably good but it still consumes a lot of points to be good, is harder to get and has various counters such as mindbreaking potions, curse of no life king, gaze, etc etc
Reinforce isn’t worth it, but people get it because they think it is more “tanks” when your damage output could be better.
However I think the prerequisite is high because it is meant to be a counter to MTP. You need 90 strength to get it, it would only make sense you need high fortitude for the counter.

Everyone I’ve asked said that reinforced armor reduces the first 40% of pen (20% pen =0% pen, 45% pen = 5%) and I’m pretty sure that’s true so that would make it a much better talent one of my friends is a former top 50 and he said that’s true

And so is the talent refine and reuse
It mentions "Multiplicatively"
Meaning that it reduces it by 40%
And not subtract 40%
So if u had 50% itd go to 30%
Not 10%
Itd definetely be AMAZING if it subtracted 40% pen

Mostly go for it for this reason... Gives me more health, good for heretics as you need unfazed (eccential) and you get to wear shields
your only forgetting that the high fortitude also comes with 0.5 hp every 1 fortitude stat meaning your getting 45 extra hp
You should make a video on prophets cloak next and whether or not its worth going. I’m unsure nowadays about it since you’ll be missing out on some %defense in return for 20% mantra pen but for some builds idrk if the 20% pen makes a difference cause they’re going to be dealing dmg with alot of pen anyway. I’m really stumped about this

For block breaking mantras there's the brace collapse mantra that negates that dmg im assuming by like 20-30 percent + the reinforced armor buff so ur probably getting about 60-70% pen reduction
I would only get reinforced armor if u can't parry tbh
doesnt brace collapse only work after getting block broken so like the thing that block broke u still do full damage

Only issue I have is that most builds I have seen are usually running at a minimum of 70% pen if not higher in this current meta. Due to 100% pen build being decently common right I still think reinforced is worth it. When the meta shifts away from these builds, which will probably happen with the silent heart rework I may start ignoring reinforced armour
along the Reiforced Armour Buff you also get 15hp and 10 posture with the stats that you alocate for Reinforced armour

thats not how reinforced armor works, if someone has 50% pen, it will be brought down to 10% pen
It was definitely not worth it before but with the rise of pen and mantra pen mage builds it comes out very useful

but the high value on fort doesnt make it worth to pick? like, besides the 40% pen reduction, assuming the actual meta forces you to pick 6 vitality, lvl 20, you'll have 110 health not including others hp talents

Yes not everyone is running a 100% pen build... but, any day of the week because on average a non-hybrid build will have 50% pen at worst, HP is king

Armour isnt reliable
So stuff lik arc suit, padded armour, charm, stuff that isnt affected by pen basicslly are still super good

Arc-Suit being only active for X time
Chaotic charm requiring low HP to proc
Padded Armor requiring no armor (has like +3% blunt resist wow so awesome)
Exoskeleton requiring to be replenished in a campfire
etc. etc.
To the point that I think it's much better to go for Elem resists than Phys resist because atleast with Elem resists it's much harder to attain high pen (90 int lmao)
... unless they're already running loser mage pen builds then nothing we can do about that

I have a enforcer axe that does about 13-14% on a normal m1 and about 25% on a full crit guard break my buddy with reinforced armor takes about 10% instead of the normal 14%

Wait, so reinforced armor doesnt have flat %? I thought that if you have it, then 50% pen turns into 10%. For me it sound logical, cuz why would you cut percents off percents?

reinforced armor is only ever worth it if you're brick wall too which is great on pvp builds where you can abuse morale booster to get up in 0.5 seconds.
Kairos do you know what charged return ACTUALLY works with? I'm so lost because I thought it worked well with static withdrawal but I tested with a friend and it didn't boost at all. If you have any information or a link to something that does that would be greatly appreciated

Elemental "Debuffs"
Stuff lik charm wknt count, nor will the shade devour "buff"
Only debuffs like
Burn,electrify from thundercall, chill, winded or suffocate from gale, and blindness from shadow snd other stuff work
Stuff like taunt,charm,lords tithe
Arent elemental, so they dont count
Flame within counts though,
Flame within gives a 20% dmg buff and on top of that u get charged return for 20% m1 dmg
Same thing for nullifying clarity
