- Phoenix is a three year old Friesian, and just loves hugs and kisses, so funny how she pulls her owner in close for a hug and you can tell that it is truly what she wants, Its amazing how a horse and owner can have a bond like that, some people tend to think that horses do not have feelings, like a dog or a cat does for instance, but here you get a true insight how horses and their owners do truly have a special bond .Beautiful!

I used to work with harness racing horses at a track and one of them I bonded very close with and he would do this to me. Horses are far more intelligent and emotional than most realize. They actually score higher in intelligence than dogs. They are amazing creatures.

It;s not always what you think it is. Horses are not predators thus they do not hug or like petting. They tolerate it. What you see in this video is establishing dominance over other herd member. He moves her feet saying "move when u r told to, i am the boss you listen to me."

They do. They also have different behavior and limits with every person they know. When you become their friend though is when they start sharing moments like this. Contrary to what people say, earning the trust of a horse is a lot harder than just training.

That's the first time I've ever seen an animal literally pull someone in for a hug. Granted I've seen lions hugging that one guy, but they didn't pull him in they just ran up and hugged him

I hate the people that say animals have no feelings. If it's alive then it has feelings. It can love, hate, feel happy, and feel sad just like humans can. Just because they don't express it in the same way doesn't mean they don't feel it.

I'm not going to argue with a pathetic human being such as yourself. For all we know they do have feelings. We only found out that dogs express jealousy back in 2012. Who knows, maybe dirt is actually living. Maybe aliens are watching us. Maybe mythic creatures are real.

yes! and with that arched neck too. I do not know much about horses but this particular one looks so regal with the shiny black color, arched neck, from a good bloodline I think I'm trying to say.
She’s a Frisian horse and a lot of demon horses are pictured somehow like a Frisian probably because of all the long hair, the pitch black color and the high held head which is very distinct about the Frisians:))

Saying "it" doesn't deny animals being living creatures with feelings. Especially not when you read the actual comment, which mentions things like trust and love, which directly confirms animals having feelings.
You should've been more thoughtful and read the actual comment instead of just jumping in to correct someone at the first chance.

I stood there hugging my cousin’s horse for about 20 minutes. She came outside looking for me and just laughed. Horses are the best huggers.

I have to disagree with people who say animals don't have feelings. My dog looks at me with loving eyes and whenever I pet a horse, they deeply appreciate a scratch on the neck or behind the ears. I just love being around animals more than people.

my mare last week relized I had a bad day and when I hugged her for comfort she wrapped her head around mine to hug me back knowing I was just sad and needed compassion from. Horses are so amazing that way.
This is so beautiful. I'd be scared out of my mind to stand in front of a horse since I don't know much about them. I've ridden one twice in my whole life, and the feeling of being on one makes me feel relaxed. I wish I could ride more and bond with horses.
